Channa Masala Curry, Daal Makhani and Aloo Kulcha + Naan.

I've visited Punjabi Junction 3+ times now and have never been disappointed. The food is incredible, portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and spacious, definitely feels like a "sit down" restaurant (even though their carry out area is always super busy). The servers are always in a good mood, helpful and attentive. Food came out in less than 15 min. Everything was incredibly delicious. Forgot to take a picture of the Gajar (carrot) Halwa but it was to die for, along with everything else. Shout out to the guys in the back making all this delicious grub you're really doing gods work xo

STERLING, VA 06/15/19 WEEKEND LUNCH BUFFET +The tandoori chicken had a nice spicy kick to it. +They also offer butter chicken and two other chicken dishes. +The naan was piping hot and fluffy; we ordered 3 baskets because it was so good. -The service was slow even though there were like 5-6 waiters. -The dessert offerings could have been a little better. -The floors were a bit dirty. -The dishes weren't all that clean. Overall, I would return for the weekend lunch buffet because they offer a good amount of variety and the pricing is not too bad. Check them out, or DM me some other spots to check out!

Northern Virginia has many Indian restaurants. But Punjabi Junction has one of the best lunch buffet. Punjabi Junction, I like that name. They bring a basket of naan as a starter. The buffet has pretty much all the most common Indian dishes. My favorite is the butter chicken. Service is top-notch. They're always fussing over the buffet. The employees are constantly refilling items and keeping the buffet clean. They're always coming around filling up your drinks. It's pretty spacious. There's a little bar all the way in the back but I've never seen anybody use it. The decor is simple. 5 stars.

The standout dishes were the lamb chops, garlic naan, and the crispy spinach and spicy shrimp--all 10/10. I also took home the Chicken 65 and Tiger Prawn Shrimp ( a must have ) both of which were just as delicious. Be mindful that they close at 2:30 pm for preparation before dinner service, so plan accordingly. My favorite dish was the the sukuti sadheko appetizer -- the goat was almost jerky like, chewy (in the best way) but still tender; and spicy. The braised yak was tender and warm with the spices and rice, yum. Loved all the options for goat, lamb, yak, etc. There were also plenty of options for vegetarians as well.

The bar area is big and spacious, and usually sitting at the bar means better, more attentive service. The place was mildly busy, so I expected things to run smoothly -- but that wasn't the case. Right from the start, the bartender wasn't very attentive. We had to ask multiple times just to place our order. For appetizers, we tried the Goat Buttan and the Wild Boar -- we wanted to explore some of the unique delicacies on the menu. Both dishes were interesting, and the Goat Buttan and Wild Boar were actually pretty solid. Unfortunately, the service continued to be an issue. We had to flag the bartender again just to order our entrées and even for simple water refills. We ordered the Mutton Taas and the Yak Chili. The Yak Chili was very good, but the Mutton Taas was extremely dry -- like eating cardboard -- and lacked flavor. Throughout the night, our bartender was constantly absent. More than once, we had to ask another bartender to get his attention so we could get basic service. After finishing our meal, we ordered a dessert, the Gulab Jamun. The presentation looked nothing like the picture -- more like a sloppy drop of pudding -- and the taste was just as disappointing. And again, we had to flag down another bartender because ours was nowhere to be found. Service overall was lackluster, and the tip options started at 20% with no 18% choice. For the level of service we received, 15% would have been more appropriate. I won't be returning anytime soon unless I'm specifically craving their unique delicacies -- which is once in a blue moon.

We went with a large group for a very late lunch this past Sunday, which worked out perfectly because we could order a ton of food and try a bit of everything. Despite it being well past lunch hour, at least half of the tables were still filled. Service was a bit slow, though, and we spent a fair amount of time waiting for our server to take our order or for our food to arrive. PACHI MIRCHI GOBI - 13.99 The fried cauliflower was crunchy and loaded with chilis, spices, and aromatics. Sadly, there was also an aggressive amount of cilantro, so I spent more time than I'd like picking the leaves off my food. Still, it was a good appetizer to keep us from getting too cranky while waiting for our entrees. PANEER MAJESTIC - 14.99 The paneer was cut in the shape of Fritos corn chips, which was something I hadn't seen before. It was quite saucy, but the thin, small pieces felt overcooked and had more of a firm tofu-like texture than the soft, mozzarella-like texture I was hoping for. There was also, unfortunately, more cilantro. TANDOORI CHICKEN - 17.99 This came out sizzling in a skillet, and the fragrant smoke immediately made my mouth water. It was already 3 PM and I was hungry, so the timing couldn't have been better. Each piece was incredibly well-seasoned and juicy. My tongue was burning a little by the end, but I didn't care because it tasted so amazing straight off the skillet. I'd highly recommend this. CURRY LEAF CHICKEN - 14.99 I've never had curry leaf chicken before, but I'm officially a fan. The chicken was tender, bathed generously in a curry leaf-based sauce with a complex depth of flavor. I couldn't quite tell you what all the spices were, but I knew I kept reaching back for another piece. CHICKEN DUM BIRYANI - 14.99 A pretty standard Hyderabadi-style biryani, with the chicken tucked underneath the generously spiced rice. Each bite had a nice dry heat, and the chicken was pretty good, but it wasn't particularly memorable compared to some of the other dishes we ordered. MUTTON BIRYANI (GOAT) - 16.99 This is my friend's favorite biryani, and after trying it, I can see why. Similar to the chicken biryani, the mutton was served underneath the rice, but the meat itself was the star. It was incredibly tender and not gamey at all, with rich, fatty flavors that elevated the biryani. If there was one entree I kept reaching for, it was this one. I'd highly recommend it. MANGO LASSI - 6.49 A bit pricy, but smooth, rich, and creamy with a refreshing mango flavor and a tough of yogurty acidity. It was exactly what I needed to cool down from all the spice. Overall, the food was packed with spices and flavor, the prices were reasonable, and we were completely stuffed. The biryani portions were massive -- I couldn't easily turn one serving into three meals. If I lived nearby, I'd definitely be picking up a biryani to-go.

We let him know the "mild" had a bit more of a kick than we expected. He recommended we use yogurt and had some brought to the table. He was very friendly and easy to talk to. Each dish was $16 and I was impressed with the portion size. They don't even charge for extra rice. Next time we'll skip the biryani since it was too spicy and just order the extra rice.

I know my opening statement may be contentious, but bear with me. We really like good Indian food. I am originally from the UK so am very well versed in Indian food. I have been in the US for 30 years and have tried Indian food all around the US. A few years ago we moved to Ashburn and was surprised by the lack of good Indian restaurants as there is a noticeable Indian area population. We tried a few and reviewed them here. So when we visited Delhi-6 for the first time in late April 2023, we were cautiously optimistic but ready for for whatever might happen. We went on a friday and we were hungry and assumed there is a buffet, mainly as they advertise it but the days are not clear. There is only a buffet on weekends, but despite what the sites say, this place is open at 11am and not 11:30am, so that is good news. I ordered Lamb Vindaloo, HOT. my wife ordered the Chicken Biryani. We got garlic Naan as well. The place was empty because of the 11/11:30 issue which hopefully they resolve. The restaurant is large with tables for large groups and the service was very attentive. After our wait, the food came out. Holy moley. My Lamb Vindaloo was probably one of the best if not THE BEST Lamb Vindaloo I have had in my entire life. The meat was flawless. No fatty pieces, or tough bits. It was soft and flavourful and so great I can't even think of anything negative to say about it. As I write this I am drooling just remembering it. The sauce was thick and spicy but also had perfect seasoning telling me the chef knows how to balance the flavours and elevate the fantastic lamb. The Naan bread was thin and crispy and held the vindaloo sauce wonderfully. The chicken Biryani was superb. I came with crunchy onions on on top, the chicken was super tender, and the rice cooked to perfection. It came with a beautiful raita. The chef is an artist for the palate. But wait, there's more! We went back in early May 2023 for the buffet. This time they had fried cauliflower which was indescribably great. They had chicken Biryani and I would say 15-20 different dishes. During our visit they also had a lamb Madras. This was another fantastic dish, with the same quality lamb meat, with no fat or tough parts, clearly cooked with love for hours. The flavours were incredible with a richness from all the herbs and spices that was very enjoyable. They also had a Butter Chicken which was texbook superb. Aloo saag was creamy to perfection just the way it should be served. Your opinion may vary, but here is me telling you, if you like Indian food, you owe it to yourself, and Delhi-6 a visit.

Today I stopped by for lunch, just walking by, and ordered their mild G.O.A.T Dum Biryani and Mango Lassi. Kiran the cashier was nice and polite, very knowledgeable and answered all my requests very well. The food came out quickly and hot. I think the mango lassi was a bit small for it's price but tasted homemade. The goat was extremely spicy for me, even after I was asked how spicy I would like it, and I replied very mild, not spicy. It's was difficult to eat it without a lot of extra toppings and sauces to make it more mild, but then my rice turned into soup. I think that if you normally like the spices that made with Indian food you'll agree with the other reviewers here that it's a nice place to eat. For me it too hot and spicy! As a bonus they offered me to try their desert: Mango Rabadi and a small sample of their chicken kabob. The Mango Rabadi was very good, a pleasant sweetened dessert, but the chicken kabob was also super spicy for me but full of flavor! If you like Indian food it sounds like this is the place to go, but for me it's way too spicy! The owner and the cashier were very nice and friendly.
