This is a decent Indian buffet. The selection is not huge, by generally pretty tasty. The paneer and the sauce it was in was very good, and so was the chicken masala. Nice looking restaurant with attentive, if slightly awkward service. Look into their lunch and Saturday special prices. Worth stopping by if you are in the area and hungry for some Indian buffet. Update: Been here several times after my previous review with some advice for potential diners. 1) Don't order the pakoras. They've been burned/overcooked every time. A call to the manager gets you a "oh okay" without any recourse to fix the issue. 2) Whatever you do, DON'T GO WHEN THEY HAVE A FUNCTION PLANNED. They are too focused on the party and don't care about watered-down, poorly cooked, and flavorless food that they give you for take out. Went here to try the lunch buffet on a Saturday afternoon with the family. The staff is very attentive and extremely friendly. We were greeted with welcoming smiles when we entered and were quickly seated at a table. There are lots of choices on buffet and is a fair deal for the price $12.99. My favorite dishes were the chicken curry, dal makhani, chicken tikka and goat curry. The saag (spinach) paneer was outstanding and probably the best I have tried in the area. The samosas were delicious and the rice pudding dessert was just right not too sweet or creamy. The complimentary tea was a nice touch. read more

Excellent lunch buffet! I believe it was $10. This is actually the 3rd day in a row I've had Indian buffet from different places. Impressed with the selection--my favorite was the goat and the spicy cabbage/potato. For dessert they had a delicious mango kheer instead if the typical rice pudding. I liked that it had a strong mango flavor. The tandoori chicken and butter chicken was also good! They had some vegetarian options as well as another curry. I was so obsessed with the goat that I didn't try everything! I also liked that they have a customer loyalty rewards program. Go for 5 lunches and get the 6th free! I'm obsessed with Indian food so this is definitely what'll get me to come back weekly. On another note, this restaurant is cleaner than other Indian buffets. They also give you cloth napkins instead of paper (Random, I know. But it's a nice touch). read more

Came here for a Saturday brunch buffet; we've been here several times as it's close to home, has a decent selection and good quality food. We hadn't been here for awhile and were pleasantly surprised by some new remodeling and the service was markedly better. We asked if there was new management as the quality and taste of the food was similar, but also seemed a bit fresher and more flavorful. Price was about the same: we were gladly able to fill up two voracious eaters for about $30. Will be back again! read more

Not the best Indian place in the area but close! The cheap lunch buffet has some good options like the daal makhani and I really locked the aloo gobi. My favorite things were the butter chicken (all chicken here is very juicy) and the spinach dish. I read reviews on the naan being the best around but it had a bit of a weird after taste. We also ordered some to go items including vegetable biryani and samosas. To me, I felt like some of the vegetables in the biryani were previously frozen. The corn, green beans, and carrots seemed like they didn't belong but the rice quality was awesome so it made up for it. The samosas were a bit too doughy for my liking but they were perfectly spicy to my liking! I'll be back and love you can do the buffet to go and they deliver. read more

We were a group of 9 people who went to have dinner at Punjabi Junction last weekend. It was highly recommended by one of our friends. The staff is very friendly, and we were seated promptly. The ambiance is mediocre, nothing fancy. Before I provide reviews about the food, there are a couple of things that I noticed. The staff is polite and friendly, but very inexperienced. We went there around 9 PM, and the kitchen closes at 10 PM. We ordered our food around 9:20 PM or so. My husband ordered a Laacha Paratha. When the food arrived, there was no laacha paratha. We thought its probably on the way. After a while my husband asked about the paratha, and the waiter said "Oh the kitchen is closed sir". Say what now? First of all, waiters are always supposed to inform the customer about the kitchen closing in case there is anything additional they want to order. Secondly, what happened to the order itself? It was placed way before the kitchen close. So no apologies, just a smile. Ridiculous!! The other thing to bear in mind is that their food is spicy. We asked for medium spicy, and its spicy. I dont eat very spicy food, and medium spicy was too much for me. I would recommend mild spicy if you cannot handle too much spice. So anyways, the daal was way too spicy for us, and we asked the waiter if he could bring a mild version of the daal. He went in to consult with the chef, and came back to say "The chef says the daal cannot be made mild". Again - say what?? Doesnt the chef know that reducing the amount of red chillies will tone down the spice? Even someone who doesnt know anything about cooking will know that. What kind of a response was that. I dont blame the waiter, but was super annoyed at the chef. Now to the food (we ordered both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, but will only mention the vegetarian ones that I tasted) - Papdi Chaat: no bad. As most of the indian restaurants, they use tortillas, and not the orginal papdi. So the taste is not very authentic. - Hara bhara kabab: This was too spicy for me to enjoy, so I would highly recommend a milder version if you are like me and cannot handle spicy food. - Daal Tadka (medium spicy): Was ok. Have definitely had better daals at other restaurants. - Vegetable Korma: This was anything but the korma I have had in other restaurants. It had lots of peas, and not enough gravy. It did not feel or taste like navrattan korma. Maybe I was expecting something else, but I did not like this dish at all. Overall, I wasnt very impressed with this place. I know Ashburn and Leesburg have a ton of Indian restaurants where the food is authentic. I will probably go somewhere else for Indian food when in that area. read more

We usually order from here but tonight, 8-14-2020, I ordered at 8:10pm and the restaurant indicated that they close at 10:00pm. That is plenty of time to have food made and delivered, however, our food NEVER came. I called the restaurant and a man answered, rudely told me it was on the way and the food never came. SO disappointed. I hope Punjabi Junction does the right thing and refunds my money. Until then, I will not update this review until this whole situation is rectified by this restaurant. read more

Ordered 3 vegetarian curries for dinner today. Average tasting food. Too much sourness in all 3 curries. Baingan Bharta in particular was too sour, and wasn't made the Punjabi way with flame roasted eggplants. Kofta and Paneer gravely was too liquidy! We love eating raw onions with Punjabi food. I asked while picking up if they can pack some, and the lady at front said yes, they already packed plenty!! Nothing at all when I opened the food.. They have a 10 % Yelp check-in coupon, but don't bother using it. They don't accept it. When I showed, the lady said they don't accept it. Why post it when there is no intention to accept?? PJ is a very good place off the beaten path, but there were just a few things that might deter me from coming back here more often. Let's start with then good. The naan: totally out of this world! It's super puffy, and they give a generous portion per serving. Lastly, each entree is served with either rice or naan. So if you are with someone else and you get two entrees, you basically can get a serving of rice and then a naan order. A win-win. Now to the not-so-good. The staff is still pretty new, I think, and they don't really know their menu that well, nor common phrases in English. Again, that's totally okay because hey, that means this place is legit which is totally cool! But the table next to me asked for some iced teas and the guy had to scuttle over to his manager and bring him over to take their order. He had to do that with us too, when I asked how many samosas came in the order. Again, that's fine but I think some people might quirk their brow at the fact they have to repeat themselves multiple times. The cleanliness of the place could also be improved. I got a dirty napkin with an orange stain on it and had to go over to the other table to get a clean one (yikes!), and the woman from the table over had a dirty plate and asked to have another one. No bueno. Overall the food was great and I definitely enjoyed it, but there are some other factors that might prevent me from coming back: cleanliness, distance, newbie staff. Maybe if I worked closer in the area I would drop by more often :) but I definitely would recommend to try this place out, maybe during lunch though. read more

Moved into the Brambleton area a few weeks back and decided to try this restaurant out. Went for buffet on a Saturday. The selections were okay but the food was not tasty at all. Service was almost non existent, atleast they refilled your waters. Have to go to the counter to pay, went there and stood for a couple of minutes and the person was looking at his phone and didn't see that we were standing there. This place is authentic, I've been to enough Indian places except India. The chicken here is not ever oily, but so tender and moist. The Curry they create here is not salty at all, it's literally pure spices that decorates my tastebuds with joy. I went there for weekend lunch buffet, they had lot of stuff on the menu. -Chilli chicken -Tandoori chicken - Kebabs - goat curry - chicken tikka masala . I've eaten lunch here about 20-30 times from 2012-2016, when I used to work across the street. Back then I didn't do yelp. After a three year absence, I stopped in and remembered how much I like this place. I'm only reviewing their M-F lunch buffet. The buffet is relatively small and simple. But almost everything they serve is good-great. The butter chicken is their number one item. I'm not gonna get into the rest of the selections since I can't spell or pronounce most of them. But they're mostly all chicken or vegetable based. There's a bunch of different lunch options in the area, all walking distance from each other. But this is the best one imo. The cost was $11.65, which is a little pricey (especially compared to Chinese buffets). But since there aren't that many Indian buffets, I guess they can get away with it. I've been here for lunch buffets and dinner both during the week and on weekends. I live nearby, love Indian food, so I've been here a lot. The last 4x I've been have been hit or miss - mostly misses. I've experienced incredibly poor service for 3 out of the last 4 times. The food has been going downhill. The last time, we weren't able to eat more than a bite of what we ordered because it was so bad. I feel guilty that my family endured the meal. The only time it's been good out of the last 4 trips was when I went for a lunch buffet with a colleague. I really regret not having a reliable Indian restaurant nearby. Surprised my husband on his birthday with a lunch buffet at this place. We were a party of 6 and it was our first visit. We were excited! My husband grew up on Northern Indian food so it was perfect. They served everything he loved! I was so excited for him to try everything. We all made our plates and sat down, ready to chow down because we were starving. Now every Indian person I know needs their naan bread as soon as they get their food. You just can't start eating without it! Well, the naan took FOREVER to get to our table. Only 3 tables were occupied during our visit so I'm not sure why it took so long. My husband had to ask several times before they finally brought it out. By the time the first batch came, the food was no longer piping hot. Not only that, they brought out barely enough naan for one person to take one piece. So...my husband quickly asked if they could bring out another batch soon (so that the kitchen could get started, seeing as it took so long to get the first batch). That's when it happened. The waiter looked at him with a bothered expression, gave him a smirk, and walked away. Boy oh boy, let's just say that didn't go well with my husband (or any of us). Needless to say, they brought out more naan, but by that time, the poor service had ruined our meal. I wanted to complain to the manager but my husband stopped me and told me not to waste my time, that we weren't coming back. All in all, decent food but pretty bad service. Both contribute to a pleasant dining experience. When one is lacking, it affects the other. As such, we won't be back. read more

My party of 4 came here because our kids were at a birthday party at the laser tag place. We were the only customers at the time, and I was worried that maybe the food wasn't good, even though the other review gave them 4 stars. Well, the food was fabulous. Two of us had vegetarian entrees and two had meat. We ordered the veggie appetizer plate and the bread basket in addition to our entrees. The beautiful hostess/server brought papadum and accompanying sauces and we scarfed them down as if there were no tomorrow -- fabulous. The beautifully plated appetizers came our a little later and were also delicious. Our thoughtful hostess told us which of the sauces went best with which appetizers; even though we "cheated" a little, we appreciated the hint. Since all of us are wimps, we asked for mild or very mild with our entrees. As is the case with most real Indian restaurants, their take on mild is different from mine, so our entrees were a little spicier than we typically enjoy, but the flavor was DEFINITELY worth the burn. Our entrees were lamb saag, bhindi (okra) masals, vegetable korma with garlic sauce added, and chicken karachi. All of the dishes were delightful. Lamb saag -- thoroughly decadent spinach and flavorful lamb. I could have eaten it all night long, but unfortunately, it wasn't my entree. Vegetable korma -- one of the best veggie dishes I have ever tasted. The addition of the garlic sauce was good; however, I want to go back and try it the regular way. Again, unfortunately, not mine. Chicken karachi -- very flavorful and a delight on the tongue. Again, not mine. Bhindi masala -- Delightful okra dish -- even if you don't like okra, you would probably like this one. In addition to the okra, the dish contained onions and tomatoes. Wonderful sauce. This was mine and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The bread basket was great -- three different types of naan, which the chef had thoughtfully cut into four pieces each since he had noticed we were a party of four. The service was excellent, however, the kitchen was a little slow. It worked out perfectly for us since we had two hours to fill waiting for our kids. It took about 1-1/2 hours from start to finish, which meant we had only a few minutes to wait for our kids. Our hostess and the chef both had let us know that that it might take a little extra time to get our food out, which we appreciated. They had just finished catering a 300 person event so had to get things sorted out in the kitchen. However, as I said above, had about two hours to fill so we assured them this was fine with us. Everything is made fresh and to order and we could tell. Even though it's a little bit of a drive from where we live, it is definitely worth it. It's a great place to eat and we will definitely be back. This is a perfect little place to come just for itself or when your kids are playing laser tag.
