I have only been there twice. It's a nice place to go and enjoy yourself. They have karaoke It doesn't have a big dance floor. The DJ'S are very friendly. KEVIN and his wife the DJ are the best. There are not many places in this area and I surprised that I found this place. I ordered fish in a coconut sauce with rice, beans and salad. I'm very happy with my choice. Placed an order today 4:54 pm. Order #02 I arrived to pick up the order and bring it home. Upon unbagging the order at home the rice & beans were missing to my specific meal we ordered about 4-5 meals. And the beans given for 5.99 was extremely small. I drove all the way back to inform them the meal was missing the rice and beans if they can remake the order for me since I've just had to drive all the way back, and if I can have the correct beans I live 30-40 min away. The server tells the active manager Tito what has happened, Tito arrives to inform me he is going to check the cameras because the kitchen staff is stating they included everything and he needs to find out who is telling the truth.... At this point I'm now waiting for Tito to conduct his investigation For RICE AND BEANS, After sometime he returns to go to the chefs and come back and tell me they made a mistake. So he makes me wait only to receive rice and beans and no chicken. I inform him the chicken was made and picked up an hour ago I was hoping to receive the meal fresh since I am now going to have to eat this with cold chicken from 1 hr ago what am I suppose to do? He stated for me to rewarm the chicken because he knows if he makes the chicken fresh I will keep the one at home and eat it another time. You would think for the massive inconvenience of having to come back twice I would've received the food fresh. No that was not the case, after making me seem at fault even seeing on camera I was telling the truth. I've been coming here for years and have never encountered such unprofessional unempathetic terrible customer service. We wanted to try Caribbean Latin food as we were driving by. Saw they had decent reviews so decided to try it. My husband had the masitas de puerco. They were ok. I went here for Mother's Day and it was the worst experience ever. For starters we ordered empanadas and they brought us more than we ordered as we asked the server which empanadas were chicken or beef, she proceeded to TOUCH OUR EMPANADAS WITH HER NAILS, then STARTED COUGHING AND THEN TOUCHED THE EMPANADAS AGAIN. At that point I told her we no longer wanted them. She then disappeared and we had another server. My parents are from the Dominican Republic and both cook like professional Dominican chefs. When I visited home and they recommended for us to dine at a local Dominican spot, I was weirded out. Why on earth would we leave the house to eat something I've had at home my entire life? But as soon as we arrive, I got it. Puna Cana is conveniently located right off of 192, no more than 10 minutes from my parents house. Their menu is a mix of Dominican and Puerto Rican dishes and features so many of my favorites. They have a full bar and their drinks were decently price, and pretty strong. The service was impeccable. It was clear that my parents were regulars, as they said hello to several people who worked here. I learned that they frequent the restaurant for Karaoke Nights on Saturdays- who knew they were so cool?! I ordered the "camarofongo" aka camorones with mofongo aka shrimp with the most excellent smashed platano goodness. It was all covered and sitting in an amazing garlic sauce. I don't know how, but I ate the whole thing. It was delicious! My moms dish, the fish fillet, was also extremely tasty, covered in the same garlic sauce. This spot is cool. The drinks are decently priced, they have tvs, music and the people in there are live. They were doing karaoke when I was there. It was a riot. There is plenty of parking and a security officer outside at all times. The bar looks pretty cool, I love the aesthetic. read more

4 stars for the portions and flavor of food. Deducted 1 star for service. My colleagues raved this restaurant for the lunch specials for $5.95 and the portions you do get and the taste. Most of them are spanish so they know what real spanish food should taste like. They raved the fish lunch special -- however on this day we went they didnt have it on the menu. I asked my dominican colleague whats the next good thing on the menu and she chose the fried pork dish. This is a Dominican establishment and since she is Dominican I trusted her choice of dish. The water / drink service was ok - slow yet the place was not busy. So poor service on water service. Our lunch came in served with a big portion! The plate consisted about 5-6 big fried pork chunks with a side of rice and red beans with a side salad that had lettuce and 2 slices of tomatoes. I could not finish my food so the rest was placed to go containers. The pork was seasoned well and tender! Rice was tender and the beans were average no signs of pumpkin cubes like what I am used to. Of course salad side is average. Water tasted good here icy cold - but then again had to wave hand for water refills. Its def worth it grabbing lunch here since its made fresh to order, seasoned well and for $5.95 you get big portions! read more

Huge letdown. Servers were all over the place, missing items from our orders. Several items. Food wasn't that great, too. Not sure what it was, but my step father swore by it and was also disappointed, so maybe they just had an off day. I went there on 12/21/18 with my mom after a 5 hour drive from Miami. We've eaten there before on one of our trips to Orlando. First of all we were directed to the restaurant in the back and seated ourselves and waited 5 minutes to have the waitress come over to our table. She was a little rude and didn't really pay us much attention. We ordered the yucca croquettes and for some reason our plate had an Oreo on it , which the waitress said someone in the kitchen placed on our plate by accident, yet she didn't remove it. We ordered water for drinks since they didn't have Dominican sodas (which I found weird for a Dominican restaurant) and the water tasted very weird so we stopped drinking it. My mom and I decided to share a plate mofongo with chicharrón de pollo which according to the menu came together for a decent price. When we got the plate the chicharrón was kinda burnt but tasted decent. What really sent us off was that the food was bought to us by a server and after getting our drinks 15 minutes before the mofongo , our waitress NEVER came back to check on us. She was talking with patrons in the table behind us the whole time and we had to call her over to pick up our plates and get our check. At that point we had been looking at her for almost 20 minutes and she couldn't bothered to even come to our table. Once we got our bill we noticed that our mofongo and chicharrón were priced separately! Even though on the menu the mofongo was a plate that came with the chicharrón de pollo. When we asked the waitress she claimed she was confused when we initially asked about it prior to ordering it and "unless it's the filled chicharrón it's priced separately". By this point we were fed up and didn't want to argue so we paid and left. I have never heard of a place charging separately for chicharrón when you order mofongo , it's safe to say we won't be dining there again. read more

I give it one start because I can't give it any less. Worst place I've been in a while. First the menu has barely any text on it and it has no information about sides or prices for sides. My boyfriend ordered chicharrones (which were disgusting) with mofongo as a side. Whenever the server gave us the side options she failed to say some have extra prices and, of course, it's not stated in the menu to begin with. When the check arrived, they charged us for HALF of the plate he did not eat, and the whole price for the plate he ordered instead of the chicharrones. This is honestly not the worst part. The manager came over and explained to us what we were getting charged. She stated over and over mofongo was an extra "$3" (we got charged $6). I mentioned several times how that didn't matter when we didn't know that from the start. We asked what are the sides and she mentioned them without talking about extra prices for some of them. The manager didn't acknowledge the mistake and still charged us almost full price for a plate that was truly horrible. I will never come to this place again and I would suggest you didn't either if you don't wanna spend over $80 on bs food and bs service. Never again. read more

So the waitresses are scammers and liars. This was my 3rd time going to the restaurant now the 3rd time was the worse. We start outside and I ask the young lady for water for my party mind you 3 adults a baby and a toddler; she brings bottles and I ask if she's going to charge me hence didn't ask for bottles, she answers rudely OF COURSE! When we finish our meal I pay look at the receipt and see that the tip is automatically included when I question the waitress she had the audacity to lie and said IF YOU SPEND OVER $80 THE TIP IS AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED of course was like hmmm left it at that but searched for the other receipt to see from our previous meal as we spent well over that amount and a bigger party and GUESS WHAT NO AUTOMATIC TIP so I keep looking so I guess all the waiters needed to be in on the joke my receipt SHE SAID I HAD A PARTY OF 8! We arrived into town late and were starving. Not many places open after 8:30pm. We pulled into Punta Cana because the open sign was on. It was just after 9pm. The kitchen had closed but they said they would serve us. We had the fried Red Snapper and the Seafood Paella. The food was brought out and was amazing. The whole Red Snapper was perfect. The meat was tender and the skin was crispy. The Paella was loaded with fresh seafood from mussels, squid, lobster tail, and plenty of shrimp. Expertly arranged and seasoned. As we were being seated the woman who looked more in charge then the rest of the staff came running to us and said "We need the papers now for the dog" amd when we showed her she said "where's the card?" and we said "what do you mean?" and she said "you are supposed to have a card with the information about the dog" and we said "I thought it was in the paper" and she said "o.now I see it" and walks away. The server would never come to the table and when they did they would look at the dog like it was a spawn of satan. Place was a nice change of night to get some food in with friends (4 of us). In my whole experience, our server was slow. She was more worried about her big table (Was about 8-9 people who been sitting way before we came in and was welcomed) and not checking up on us. We ordered our appetizer and she left later came back and we ordered our entress and both (1 Appetizer and 4 Entrees) came at the same time. I had to get up and ask the bartender for refills (Soda & liquor) and for plates and napkins. There was another lady server who noticed that we was annoyed and she really helped out as much as she could while attending her tables. The food was good and drinks as well. This place is AMAZING!!! I got the mofongo with carne asada and a side of maduros. OHMYGOSH everything was delicious! I was full and I kept eating because how good it was! It was sooo flavorful.
