To be honest, I had one of the worst grooming experiences of my life here. Please read this thoroughly as my dog's tongue was sliced with clippers during his visit to Pup N Cuts (see pictures I took a few days after he recovered and would finally open his mouth to let us see). After reading reviews, I trusted Pup N Cuts with my 2.5 year old mini poodle's haircut. In order to ensure he was comfortable, we brought him in for a shower service 2 weeks before the actual haircut. We are new to this salon and understand it can be scary for dogs when they are handled by someone new in a new salon. The shower went okay so we decided to proceed with the cut next time. When I showed up to pick him up after the cut, my dog was bleeding from the mouth uncontrollably. The staff informed me that Leo "bit his own tongue" during the visit, possibly due to being nervous. They charged me the $85 and I was on my way with no answers as to why my dog was injured. They literally had no concern or emotion at the fact that this dog was bleeding. I was shocked considering that it seems like a pretty big deal? After getting in the car, I got a closer look and could tell the bleeding wasn't stopping and at this point, my dog was in so much distress that he was licking his paws and thus getting blood all over his freshly showered body. I rushed him immediately to the Brookhaven Animal Hospital next door where he was checked out. The vet informed me there was reason to believe the staff mishandled Leo and likely sliced his tongue with clippers. Here are my issues with Pup N Cuts - if you did injure a dog, please provide owners with accurate information so we can get them treatment immediately. It was wrong to divert and say he "bit himself" - no way because he has gotten tons of haircuts and showers in his 2 years of life. We went so far as to bring him into Pup N Cuts for a shower two weeks before the cut to ensure he was relaxed since it was our first time bringing him here. All in all, the manager did process a refund and was kind / apologetic however the owner never reached out with an apology. Money does not make the issue go away. I sure do hope the staff receive training on proper communication and how to handle dogs when they are stressed during a service. I'd much rather you leave his mouth untouched rather than shave part of his tongue off. The amount of pain and stress this service caused us has been unlike any other. Please think hard before going here. read more

Pup-N-Cuts fraudulently charged my credit card a $40 no show fee the day BEFORE my appointment. I have been a loyal customer for over a year. My dog gets groomed at Pup-N-Cuts every 6 to 8 weeks and I always book my next appointment when I pick my dog up. I received a confirmation call at 2 PM the day before my 10 AM appointment. Unaware that my dog's rabies vaccine had expired, I was told that unless I could get her vaccinated that day, they would not be able to groom her the next day. AND because it was less than 24 hrs before my appointment, I would be required to pay a cancellation fee of $40. I was refused an opportunity reschedule and hung up on when I said I didn't agree with the fee because I wasn't the one cancelling. Pup-N-Cuts had more than enough time to let me know my rabies was expiring - they could have told me when I booked the appointment or at any time before the cancellation window. Then to charge my card the fee BEFORE my appointment even happened is fraud. They do a good job grooming but their customer service is awful and they are thiefs. When they refused to respond to my refund request via phone and email, I filed a dispute with my credit card company and was refunded. I would be cautious keeping a card on file with them. read more

Former prospective customer here: Just called and asked the same few questions I would always ask for a new groomer; pricing estimate, type of grooming, scheduling etc. I get to my last question of, "Are you guys black owned?" The young woman answers, "I'm uncomfortable answering that question, but yes we are." I reply, "Thanks. But can I ask the reason for hesitation or what's uncomfortable?" To which she replies, "Because I am white." I ended the call and will not be taking my dog here solely based from that conversation. What's uncomfortable about answering that about ownership? The implicit bias surely jumped out and I hope what this establishment gathers this situation. read more

I typically take her to Central Bark but decided to try pup-n-cuts out due to convienence of location and I wasn't super impressed with the last few grooming sessions there. my only complaint is that they are pretty pricey. It cost me $75. I am comparing this to the $65 I paid at Central Bark. read more

I recently moved from Smyrna to Brookhaven and I decided to try Pup-N-Cuts because it was closer my new home. The first and second visit we're fine. The service didn't compare to my other groomer but Meko (my dog) still looked cute. However, my third visit is where things went south. Shortly after picking up Meko, I noticed a cut on my yorkie's neck. It was the size of a dime/nickel. Unfortunately I was on my way of out of town, so I asked my sitter to take my dog to the vet to ensure it wasn't infected. When I returned from my trip and I called Pup-N-Cuts to inform them of the issue. When I called Pup-N-Cuts I explained my situation and i was placed on hold. After a few minutes, a different person answered the phone and she didn't bother to introduce herself. I explained my situation again and the lady basically claimed that too much time has passed to assume that the cut on dog's neck was from the groomer. Although, this is a fair statement it bothers me that I wasn't informed during pick up. I was advised that groomer probably didn't see it, but for the size of this cut I seriously doubt it. Long story, short I didn't appreciate the lady's flippant attitude. Throughout the call, she never apologized or had an ounce of sympathy. I never asked for a refund, just wanted to let them know of the incident. read more

(Please see photos) I hate to negatively review a small business but I have talked to too many staff members here for clarification and am still unsatisfied. Their website is not specific so you have no idea what you're getting with each service. I called the store to clarify and based on the owner's explanation, I booked a service. She explained that they were already in the process of changing the website for this specific reason. When I got my dog back and noticed that though a "face trim" was included, all of the hair on her face was the same length. My idea of a face cut and theirs was obviously different despite my attempts to get on the same pg. This was a simple miscommunication that could have been clarified several times but it was not. Furthermore, I explained this to the receptionist, she also admitted that the website was not clear, took my dog back for a teddy bear face trim... IDK what happened but this is was she looked like when I got her back (see pics). There were sharp jagged edges all over her face, unevenness, places where she was chopped super short right next to areas that were super long. Again, I expressed dissatisfaction and the groomer told me if I wanted a proper face trim, I should have paid for a full haircut in what I felt was extremely arrogant (also in tone) because paying was not the issue. My sweet Stella ended up at the Animal Hospital after a Pup-n-cuts groomer accidentally "nipped" her ear. She needed to have 3 stitches. The groomer took care of the bill ( this is why I am giving 2 stars ) Another upsetting part is the lack of concern of the management. I was not told that Stella was taken to the hospital until I went to pick her up. I was not informed that she was hurt. I was not asked for permission to take Stella outside of their facility by someone that I did not know. I was told to wait for the groomer to come back and if I wanted could walk to the hospital. I did not received a call from management to apologize and check how Stella was doing. Stella has not eaten for 2 days, no walking and shaking constantly. She will need to have 2-3 more doctors visits. read more

Hateful service, cruel to dogs. I have been a customer of pupncuts for at least four years. While I used to have a positive experience until pre-quarantine times, things somehow have definitely changed. My past visit will certainly be my last. Starting with the check-in, the woman receiving the pets and checking them in is extremely hateful, rude and unpleasant. Not only her attitude is bad, her service skills are worse. She literally called me to pick up my dog at 4:11pm. At 4:21pm I get a call from the groomer asking me where I am because they are about to close the shop. After I get my dog, i notice she has a red patch near her eye, a clear sign of rough handling. It is just cruel and infamous to mistreat an innocent animal who is also 12 years old. I don't know what the owners of Pupncuts are thinking to let this kind of staff run what used to be a good establishment in the animal grooming industry. read more

I came there to pick up my dogs after you called me to let me know they were done. I was 2nd in line when I arrived. I waited patiently for 45 minutes in my car to get on home after a very busy day. But you brought out dog after dog to give to customers that were clearly behind me in line. I called your store several times and nobody picked up, so I left message after message to let you know I was their waiting to pick up my dogs. I even honked my horn when you walked passed my car several times. You didn't even acknowledge I was there. So when I entered your store to get my dogs, I was immediately met with yelling at me to leave the store. I'm 63 years old and have heart problems. We were excited to try this well established groomer and we're very disappointed. We took our puppy and asked for very specific things with pictures and descriptions. They did not take any notes and said "we could try to do that". She was at the place for 4 hours with no potty break (of course peed everywhere in the lobby after being brought to us) . I asked why they cut her so short and they were not able to provide an appropriate response. No courtesy bow/bandana, no detailed report of what was done ( a receipt that said "scissor") and on top of that the cut was choppy. Will not ever come back here or recommend. I was so disappointed when I picked up my 10-month-old Labradoodle who had been shaved, without my permission, all the way to the skin. My pup had not matted on his body since his hair is so fine. By his cut, I can say they seemed to not know the standard cut for the breed although I showed pictures to them to illustrate. I could actually see where he had been knicked and I can see his skin. He looks horrible, horrible, horrible!!! I didn't get an apology, but instead excuses. They even went as far as to say, that the person who dropped him off requested a 4 blade, not realizing I had dropped him off and never requested any type of blade. Very disappointing. read more

I take my 13 year old Shih-Tzu here to get groomed. This is a HUGE deal because I don't trust him with just anyone! Not only is he 13 years old, but he also has lost most of his hearing and can't see too well. (I know, I feel bad for the little guy too!) Pup n Cuts is always very sweet with him, and they are very patient with him. The groomer has never said, but I know he's fussy when getting his fur groomed. Even still, his hair is always cut the way that I've asked, his ears are always cleaned and dried, and his nails have been shortened! Each time the he leaves Pup n Cuts, it's like he's a brand new pooch!! The groomers are always super friendly and warm!! Bonus, they send discounts via text pretty frequently. The discounts are usually 10% off the next hair cut or a free bath with grooming. How awesome is that?!?! They are reasonably priced. I pay approximately $45 for a bath, cut, nail shortening, and ear cleaning. They have extras (baking soda facial) for up to an additional $25! The only reason that they are not a 5 is because I was called at 5:57pm and told they close at 6pm. They stayed open, but 3 minutes is a pretty tight timeline!!! read more
