If you care about puppies this owner does not. He will drive the puppies all the way to your location just to take them away. He will have multiple emails addresses and not have a system to keep them organized. When he's disorganized this allows him to miscommunicate and blame it on you. Long story short for teacher appreciation week, I was implicit that their check was in the mail and that there would NOT be a check before or AT day of event. I have a string of email if potential customers would like proof. His apprentice arrived day of, showed all the staff and kids the puppies... just to become agitated that he didn't have a check. So agitated that he repeated "no we're taking the puppies I told you it needed to be paid". When I told him to check his emails he basically denied me and told me "no puppies for you". It took an hour of his throwing a fit for him to provide us another payment option. He then charged us for the hour his staff was there because he wasn't at all concerned with helping us find another payment option. He was more concerned about yelling and saying "I told you". It was very very clear he has done this before. He wasn't at all concerned about a cute day full or serotonin for support teachers. He was concerned about upcharging guests and screaming on the phone. Extremely sexist. Truly sad that this seemed normal to him. Get puppies from a more caring person for your party. Buyer beware. Penny was recently diagnosed with a torn ACL in her left leg, as well as a luxating patella. She had surgery last week (9-9-21) to repair both knee issues. This is the same combination of injuries she had with her right leg, which required surgery (once when she about 1 1/2 y.o. for the patella, then again when the ACL tear was repaired in 2019). This is Penny's 4th surgery overall on one of her legs, and she's only 9 years old. The rehab and recovery for each of those surgeries is about 2 months. So you can imagine how hard it is to watch your beloved pet go in/out of surgery 4 separate times in such a short time span. Penny has also been prescribed medication for arthritis, a thyroid med, and a combination steroid/anti-inflammatory for chronic cough episodes that failure up due to a soft trachea. We love Penny, but this is a case of what happens when puppy mills supply pet stores with poorly bred animals. I see that Puppy Paradise store is for sale. yeah, that's probably best. read more

We fostered and adopted a mini Australian Shepard, "C", whose origins are from Puppy Paradise. Her previous owner had to rehome her pets after she became very ill and went into a long term care facility. C's previous owners took great care of her and had all of her paper work, including all of her info from Puppy Paradise. Being a native New Yorker and rescue cat owner I know plenty about puppy mill pet stores and have always avoided them, knowing exactly what horrible conditions they subject animals to for profit. We took a chance on C because of her sad circumstances (and because my money didn't go to supporting this horrible store), and now a few months in to owning her I can speak definitively to her myriad health and behavioral problems. If you're potentially looking into purchasing a dog at Puppy Paradise or other similar establishments, I hope my review makes you think twice. C is only three and has had excellent regular vet care her entire life, which has only continued under our care. Despite her young age our vet has flagged several conventional joint issues on her hind legs. Her teeth are also in very poor condition. Behaviorally, C is a sweet dog but has extreme anxiety despite appearing to have been in a good home her entire life. She is fearful of nearly everything - even the clicking noise from her clicker training session causes her to jump into the air. She is extremely attached to just us and shows in-home aggression whenever anyone approaches the door. Now, maybe for a Pomeranian this is more annoying than scary, but as a Shepard she still has a guard dog's bark. We've spent hundreds on trainers and heard the feedback that many puppy mill dogs are separated too early from their mothers, setting them up for lifelong anxiety and separation issues. As busy professionals, we can pay for the best care available but she is distrustful of dog walkers and any new situations. This makes it very hard to have a sustainable situation. Digging deeper into her paperwork, her place of origin is a puppy mill in Kansas that has numerous violations from agencies. Horrific snippets here from a quick google search: "Kelli Hynes, Hays Kansas- Dog Broker who buys from relative (on the same property) Izene Hynes who has 160 adult breeding dogs and a history of violations including: dogs with significant hair loss, scabs, eye discharge, and horrible teeth issues. " We care for this dog but she has been a source of great heartache and frustration, not to mention as others have said a huge financial liability given her numerous health problems (at 3!!) Please remember that the adorable puppy in the window is a 10 year commitment with heartbreaking health and psychological problems, brought into this world just to make money for some sick greedy people with no morals. I totally understand the desire for pure bred dogs over shelter dogs, especially if you have a family, but in this case the pets you obtain from establishments such as this have no guarantees over their temperament and health. Be patient and search for a reputable, certified breeder and wait for their next batch of puppies. If you can't wait a few months for the right dog to come into your life, then you probably shouldn't get a dog anyway. read more

Today my puppy went to get groomed and I specifically asked them to cut her fur very low but not bald. I wanted everything low to include ears and tail and this is what there version of low is. Then I ask them to fix it and they told be they are extremely busy and I would have to wait until they were done. Is it me are did this business go down hill since COVID. I will not be taking my pet there anymore and I would advise you guys not to go there. I even asked for a discount since the did not give me what I asked for and all they could say is sorry we can't do that. I purchased my dog, a bichon-yorkie mix from here in September 2018. I was told he was NOT a puppy mill dog and I assumed I was being told the truth- I couldn't have been more wrong. I recently decided to look into his breeder (after becoing more educated in puppy mills) and I was more than dismayed to find out he came from Henry Sommers. A quick google search of this man was heartbreaking. I love my dog more than anything and I am so glad he ended up with me in a loving home but I am annoyed at myself for contributing to the misery of the dogs in puppy mills- especially at the hands of the awful man who breed my dog. I can only hope the 2 months he was with Puppy Paradise- before I brought him home- that he was treated nicely but he was fearful of men and continues to be- 5 years later. read more

I got my puppy from this place in 2016. She was exactly 2 months old at the time. She was the cutest most loving dog ever, and after playing with 6 other dogs my mind was made up. I was waiting for adoption people to call but they ask for so much stuff, I was sick of waiting. I'm not a huge fan of pet stores, but a dog needs a home whether he's at a pet store or a shelter. Also, I felt better spending my money here because they were not asking $2000 more than the usual price, like other pet stores. Anyway. Everyday I look at my little girl and thank my lucky stars that I spent hours there until she came in after her vaccination. If I left just 5 minutes early, I wouldn't have met her. Mike was very helpful and patient with me. I was still there even after closing time and he didn't mind. He took $200 off and gave a bunch of stuff (kibble, wee wee pads etc). He drew a diagram on a paper, telling me how my dog's setup should be like. He gave me the name and phone number of the breeder, and showed me a picture of the dad. After everything was complete, he handed me this huge packet filled with information and tips on what to expect the first few days, expenses etc. The packet also had a free first visit to the vet, discounts on grooming and passports... So much stuff. My pup had her vaccines up to date, but of course they were not all complete at 8 weeks. I had no problem with getting her vaccinated (the last da2pp shot, kennel cough, rabies) at the vet. Now, as for the 3 stars. I know my experience sounds awesome, but my pup is 9 months old now and I see that there were some things that could and should have been done. First of all, my pup was taken away from her litter way too early, and her personality definitely shows it. When I first brought her home, she could only sleep on my chest because she could hear my heart beat (like her mom's). She is always desperate for attention, has separation anxiety, and a lot of phobias (common in pups that were taken away from the litter too early). She doesn't know how to interact with dogs, she's either too forward or too scared. So in short, she shouldn't have been taken away from her litter that early (I'm guessing at 4-5 wks). Second, I was told that she was a purebred longhair dachshund. I honestly couldn't care less if she's purebred bla bla bla, because I'm obsessed with all dogs. I had a DNA test done, and yes she is 100% dachshund but she is CURLY. Don't get me wrong, she has the most adorable look and I haven't seen any other dachshund like her, and she's the most special dog ever. BUT... She apparently is longhair &wirehair mix, which is a big NO for people who care about shows, competitions etc. It's called an improper coat and it's "not desired" and it's a result of bad breeding practices. Like I said, she looks better than any doxie I've ever met, but if I was a person who cared about that kind of stuff, I would be furious and would be suing the pet store. Just saying. Third, and the least important (For me), my pup had giardia when we brought her home. As a new dog mom I freaked out so hard, but by the time she started on her 3rd course of antibiotics, I saw how common giardia was. So I'm not blaming the pet store for the giardia at all because it's literally EVERYWHERE, but be ready to deal with it if you get a dog. I just wanted to keep this review honest, so I'm just giving 3 stars, because like I said, she's had so many psychological problems. I haven't had the chance to send her to daycare, but if you get a puppy, make sure you get her socialized super early so that she knows how to behave and becomes confident. P.S. to the guy who gave his pup back because it wasn't wee-wee pad trained... are you for real?what did you expect? thank god you didn't keep the puppy because it would have ended up on the streets. read more

I was able to hold and play with a few puppies before find my perfect fur baby. We were told to take him to the vet for a check up to be cleared just like other pet shops do as well. We got our dog here, an adorable Shiba Inu. 2 years later and he's doing great but they gave him to me and he hadn't got all his shots which I found out after and that's is a big NO NO. Make sure the dog gets all his shots including bortadella etc as my dog got sick almost instantly. He's all good now obviously but just so long as you know this place is a bit of a puppy factory. I wish I could love this place. I bought my dog Cereal, a black pomeranian there on 7/22. Employees are very very friend; and the owner's wife , Lisa , is super nice she even gives me and my boyfriend a little gift. I feel like they really treat customer as a close friend. However, I have to take town 2 stars because on the following reasons: 1.) Disorganized I got different quote from different people. Plus they put sold puppies in the same crate with other for sale puppies. On the other hand, you hardly find the actual puppies listed on the website. Ask twice to make sure the puppy you want is still available. 2.) Giardia The pomeranian I got from them (Cereal) had giardia. It's a very common dog parasite and it's highly contagious. My cousin's Aussie got infected by playing with my dog for couple hours. With that saying, there is a very high chance that other dogs are also infected in puppy paradise. 3.) Vaccination are not up to date You might need to pay for the vaccine that was suppose to be taken. I called 30 minutes after they were scheduled to arrive and the person who answered was surprised to hear I had a party scheduled. In fact, he admitted to flat-out forgetting. More Like Puppy Hell Remember the scene in Pee Wee's Big Adventure where he frantically releases all the animals to escape the fire - I honestly contemplated replicating that madness. As far as I know I have never been allergic to animals, but that store is so filthy that Andre and I left sneezing and scratching for almost an hour afterward. What really pissed me off was the fact that the website is so misleading. It shows about 50 varieties of dogs in cute cuddly outfits........but when we got there ( after calling in advance and being reassured there were was a vast selection) there were about 10 dogs at most. Worst of all, 2 of the best dogs were already sold. I saw the ASPCA car outside and I'm sure they were writing a hefty report about the inhabitable conditions and poor care these animals are being provided with. We absolutely DO NOT support puppy mills and unfortunately they supply most dogs to these shops. David:hello this pup is a bichon frise  Me: And how much -Lisa David: the cost is $850 for my baby  Me: Odd. This dog was listed under you under $500 section. David: yes he is -- and if you already knew this then why did you ask me the price? Me: Well under $500 could be $499 or even $1. Great customer service!  David clearly is money hungry as he completely lied about the pricing. I attached a screen shot of the dog in the under $500 section of the website. ZERO STARS! I went there to buy a puppy a few years back and put a down payment (with a credit card) on a boston terrier who I fell in love with. I was to pick up the puppy the next day, but once I got there they informed me that the puppy was sold. SAY WHAT? Somebody effed up. You can't imagine my disappointment. I picked another BT puppy only to find out she was $100 more expensive than the BT I originally wanted. Do you think they were willing to make up for their error? NOT A CHANCE. Not only did I have to pay an additional $100, they wanted me to pay for items needed to welcome the puppy home. After some back and forth haggling, they let me have a few chew toys to take home. When I went to take the puppy to her free puppy exam ( included with the purchase) I discovered she had 2 sutures on her abdomen! I bought a defective doggie! She turned out fine but I never stepped foot in that place ever again. PS: Puppy Paradise has been featured on the Help Me Howard segment on Channel 11 Pix news a few years ago. They sold a very sick puppy to a couple who wanted their money back and Puppy Paradise was giving these poor people a hard as hell time. This place is a puppy mill in disguise. read more

Took my dog here for a cut. Fortunately they were not busy. They gave my yorkie the cut I wanted but they seem to be a little rough with my baby. The pups they had for sell were reasonably priced and they had legit paperwork for them (atleast the ones I asked for) the staff at the front were nice and informative. But there's something that doesn't sit right with me about this store. I was very apprehensive about goin into this store to get my dog a trim. Through the years I have heard horror stories about the groomers abusing dogs who misbehave while being groomed. I know what you are thinking....how could u bring my dog to this place. Well Petco wouldn't take my dog because they needed paperwork showing he got his last rabbis shot within the past year. They would not accept his rabbis 2012 collar that said her had his shot this year! So puppy paradise had to do. I watched the groomer like a hawk and he did a decent job. Not sure if I would feel comfortable to go back as a reg customer since I'm scared my dog could get hurt. read more

This place seems okay to me. I've been boarding my beagle here whenever I leave the country and never has there been an issue medically or otherwise. The staff is helpful and attentive not to mention the inventory of pet necessities is top notch. Went for grooming for the first time at this place on Saturday. My dog's extra toe was completely cut off. I didn't realize until Sunday (tried to give a full 24 hours to see if there were any issues also pregnancy brain) and my poor doggy was licking his paws continuously on Sunday. If there was an issue, this was not communicated to me at any time, which I find most frightening. As well as, the price being completely high. I understand a price is a price but I expect great service too-advise customers on the dog's behavior, if something went wrong, if you accidentally injured the dog. Most people would appreciate that than be extremely anxious and upset to find their poor dog is suffering later on; to cut off a whole toe, spray something on it and now make a dog have an open wound without advising the owner is unacceptable. My review is based on customer service. I bought a dog from here like 15 years ago so I tough I would go back and spend my money here. So I go To their website and saw this cute looking bulldog fall in love with the picture called them and the snotty girl pics up the phone. Smirks and say that they don't have no Bulldogs on their shelfs lol! So Then why advertised dogs that you don't have in ur shop I will Take my money somewhere else.
