Terrible!!! I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Pups of War. This was the third time we tried to visit, and every single time there has been an excuse why my kids couldn't play. We've been told it's full, that there aren't enough kids, or that they could only play for 30 minutes. This time, I called ahead to make sure there was space before driving over. The person I spoke with told me they were open and had plenty of room. I explained that we would arrive in about 30 minutes. He said there was a birthday party starting at 4:00 PM, so my three boys would have 30 minutes to play freely before it got busy, and that they would be fine. When we arrived, we were immediately told they were closed for a party. I explained that I had just called and been told otherwise. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, the staff became hostile and accused me of lying, saying, "We don't even have a phone. We haven't had one for months." That's impossible because I called the phone number listed on their Google Business page. Rather than apologizing or trying to figure out what happened, they told us to leave and refused to let my kids play. The customer service was completely unacceptable. Lucas, Jason, and the manager (who refused to give me their name) handled the situation very poorly. Even if there had been a misunderstanding, there was no reason to treat a customer that way. We left and went to Space Room instead, and it turned out to be the best decision. The staff there were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Our kids had an amazing time, and the experience was everything we had hoped for. I will never return to Pups of War, and I cannot recommend it based on how we were treated. Save yourself the wasted trip and go somewhere that values its customers. read more

Great help, patience and care from Jason and Bryan! Made our sons Pups of War experience so fun. Bryan got into it and played with all the kids in there to make it more exciting. And he helped to monitor that the kids knew how to use the guns properly. They emphasized safety and the kids had a blast. There is a waiting area for parents to watch their kids while they play. Took my kids and nephews here yesterday for my son's 10th birthday, and they had an absolute blast! It was all of their first times, and it worked out perfectly because during their time slot it was just them and two other kids -- so they basically had the place to themselves. They did Level 1 since it was their first time, and the highlight was definitely one of the employees (didn't catch his name) who jumped in to play with them. The kids loved teaming up against him -- it made the whole experience even more fun! The only downside is that it's a bit pricey for just 30 minutes, but honestly, the smiles and laughter were worth it. Highly recommend for birthdays or a fun day out with the kids! read more

Came here for an event hosted by an organization that brings autistic kids together. They buyout the entire place so basically every child that is playing in the arena is developmentally delayed / special needs. With that being said, you would think the employees working there with show a little patience and compassion for these kids. I've been to two of these event here and although my son has fun playing in the arena and with the other kids both times I've seen the employees visibly acting annoyed and being rude/mean to the children and parents. On this particular day, my son's nerf gun got taken out of his hands by an older kid; no big deal I thought, we'll go ask for another one. Nope was I wrong, the 6 ft+ GROWN MAN hovered over my 5 year old and yelled at him that he needs to be more responsible and not lose his nerf gun because he can't just go around giving them out. I told him, my son didn't lose it, another kid pulled it out of his hands (which to me wasn't a big deal because I understand most of these kids are developmentally delayed). The GROWN MAN then says "I can't give you another gun unless you bring me a gun to trade, or show me which kid did it so I can yell at him". Yes, the GROWN MAN said he was going to go yell at a CHILD, let alone a special needs child. Maybe these workers don't understand what types of kids these are or maybe they just don't care. My only hope in writing this review is that the workers here learn to have more patience and compassion especially when working in a place catered to children. read more

It was a rainy start to our spring break but PUPS OF WAR salvaged it! Adults & kids had a BLAST in the arena. Even the spectators were engaged and entertained. In addition, The facility was clean and safe We even had a fan-fabulous customer service experience with (in our opinion) is the #1 employee.... S C O O B Y ‼ Huge mahalo to Braddah Scooby who was patient with the young ones and even explained that the only mahalo he needs is for us to become repeat customers. This is the first time in a few years. I've never came with my boys just play, I've only had their birthday parties here. You can bring food and eat in the waiting area while your child plays. There are chairs and some chairs by a table. Although their was a family occupy that table the whole hour while we were there. They were already there when we arrived. Couldn't help but noticed that they belonged to an employee. They stayed there the whole time and practically "made house" with their food and things. Personally I think that is wrong because we were waiting to utilize that area to eat out food while our kids play. read more

I like the concept, especially for active kids who are into Nerf-type guns. What I didn't like was staff not monitoring the game area and there were a handful of older, really large kids that were totally dominating the area. The younger kids did the best they could but in the end it was more just trying to avoid encountering those older kids. There was a middle aged staff member that came into the game area but he did not try to temper the older kids behavior. Both of my grandkids had a great time but we are cautious when they want to go to Pups of War with the classmates. I sent off an email to their management but got no response. Too bad because other friends have asked about Pups of War and we have to caution them and remind them to be proactive if there are players that are too aggressive in the play area. read more

For me, this was the first time I came here and this worker came up to me yelling at me to take off my slippers while walking through the arena trying to get to the birthday room. I told him sorry and I took it off. First off, we were supposed to wear their pups of war socks, but they were all out so they told us to just go barefoot. First off, EWWW. My feet were so black by the time I had to put back on my slippers. The reason that made me more annoyed was when it was time to leave, I JUST walked out of the room about to take my slippers off to walk through and the SAME WORKER came to me and said ma'am you need to take your slippers off like I told you the first time !!! Since there may be or may have been other kids touching these bullets, bring a small sanitizer while in the arena if you're a germaphobe. This was my son's second time playing so he already signed a waiver, or shall I say my brother took him and signed a waiver for him but his name wasn't in the system still, weird! We met with my son's classmate's family on Black Friday for a day of Nerf battling at the Pups of War Arena at Pearlridge Mall Mauka. We signed their waiver form, bought our bands and headed into the arena. Yes, the dads jumped in with the boys and had lots of fun chasing the boys around the arena. What a great idea ---- while mom shops, the kids and dads are playing Nerf Wars for a couple of hours. You can purchase different level wrist bands which allow you to select the type of Nerf gun that you will go into battle with (level 1 - regular Nerf darts, level 2 - Nerf Rival guns with round ammo, level 3 - motorized Nerf gun). Or you can bring your own Nerf guns and save $10 a visit. The great thing about this Nerf arena is that it is quite large and air conditioned. However, even with the air conditioning, we came out with shirts drenched in perspiration. Recommend bringing an extra shirt. I was exhausted after chasing the boys around the arena for 2 hours. The other great thing is that there are many places to eat at Pearlridge Mall, so you can grab a meal and return to Pups of War to play more. And that's just what we did --- ate pizza at Pieology and let boys play for another hour and a half. They had a fun time (the dad's did too). This a great place to have a birthday party (there is party area with tables in the back left of the arena). I'm still sore from running up and down ramps, dodging darts and crawling under low openings. Ha ha :) read more

When my daughter and I first spotted Pups of War in Pearlridge, I told her not to tell her brother. But it didn't matter, his grandparents had also spotted the nerf haven and left me a brochure on my kitchen counter. Hint taken. I read the brochure and the reviews so I knew I had to file a liability waiver. I did this online to save time. We also brought one of his nerf guns and saved $10 off his $35 admission for one hour in Level 3 Adventure: Power. There is different pricing for the two other levels of Elite and Rival. We also needed to purchase their Pups of War socks. After we paid, he was given a pair of safety glass and an ammo bag. He was a little apprehensive since he was there by himself, but he quickly made friends and joined their team. His sister and I left to walk around the mall and came back before the hour was up to check on him. I was very happy to find him playing with other kids and having the best time. He said that his own gun jammed a lot so next time he wanted to use the Pups of War guns. The level 3 admission gives you access to all the level 2 and level 1 blasters so you can change out your weapon when you wish and if it is available. To say he loved it would be an understatement. He's already got his grandparents planning to take him again and wants to have his birthday party there. I do think it's a little pricey so if they had some kind of rewards program based on frequency, we would be able to go more often - but I definitely seeing us coming back. Staff can easily walk you through the sign up process before you decide on what Nerf Gun play package you want. Once you choose the package, you get access to the arena. They require socks to play and are available for purchase. And eyewear for safety which is provided for each player. They have a good variety of Nerf guns available ranging from the basic single shot darts to the battery operated, rapid fire guns. They have Nerf Rival guns and even the Fortnite or Overwatch themed guns. Lots of variety here. If you bring your own Nerf gun you can even get a discount. They will provide you with the ammunition. You would be charged the level 1 price if you brought in your own nerf gun. The arena is a large padded play area with several structures for the kids to explore, run around, or "camp" in. Players roam free but the staff somet set up special games between teams. The kids mainly enjoy the Free-for-All theme. For the parents, there's some plenty of comfortable couches in the lounge as well as some TVs for viewing. This is a great place for kids to run around, enjoy themselves and just plain have fun. Went for my nephews birthday, a guy named Buck helped us out. There was probably 5 of us, it was a lot of fun that even my dad got involved shooting at my brothers and I. The place is AC, the party area was pretty big but i believe there was 3 rooms total we had the biggest and it was right by the play arena. You're also playing with other families, it's a great place for kids of course and they are making friends for the hour or two. I noticed the big kids were really sensitive when it came to getting shot as a group was getting mad that they were being shot at by random people. Some kids did make alliances which eventually they would betray haha. Overall it was really fun although the prices were really expensive. They had probably like 3 working battery operated guns, those actually hurt and are not for the weak lmao. Came here for my nephews birthday party. I must say, it's much better than the location in Kaneohe. There is way more room to run around. More places to get different views is the other people you're playing against. It's a great time for kid (or adults) to have fun playing with Nerf guns. Surprisingly there's rooms in the back to have birthday parties. one big one, then another room where two different parties can be held. In each room they have a fridge, a shoe rack, and tables and chairs. You can bring your own food and coolers. The only issue I have, is that in order to get to the party area you have to go through the play area. There really should be a separate entry way to the party area. Why? Because, we weren't allowed to have footwear while a walking through the play area to the party room. So I was like, ok NBD I'll just take off my wedges and walk bare foot to the room. NOPE! I was stopped saying I needed to be wearing socks even if I was just passing through. I was wearing wedges, and I didn't bring socks with me, so I had to buy a pair. $3.50 a pair. It would have been ok if it was just me, but I had my son, husband, sister, and grandma. All of us didn't have socks. What can you do? We're here for my nephew birthday party. So we paid $18 for socks-that will probably not get used again unless we go back- which we used for a total of about 10 seconds to get to the party room. ‍ Moral of story, never leave home without socks. read more

To save time, we preordered our tickets online - BOGO for 1 hour of play time, 1 ticket covers 2 people at $25. We paid for the boys. My CIL paid for the girls. There are other options to choose from; however, we opted for the biggest bang for our buck. Also required to purchase Pup O War socks for safety and liability reasons since there will be lots of quick feet movements, stop and go. One pair of their non-skid socks cost $3.50. This price is not included in ticket cost. Not allowed to wear any other type of socks. You're welcome to bring your own non-skid Pup O War socks for future use. There are staff that will assist and provide verbal instructions in-person and over PA system. This business provides clear protective eyewear for all players and a variety of NERF guns to use during play time. There are cabinets to store your footwear prior to entering the war zone. Great way for parents to reconnect and catch up on one hour of conversation. Always coming to pearlridge mall we pass by this thrilling and fun looking place for the kids! And everytime we passed it I told my son one day, and that day came after he finished his first quarter of Kindergarten as this was his reward. Located on the Mauka side where Charolotte Russe used to be/across from Cookie corner is where you'll find nerf guns galore and small arena. Kids of all ages, recommending starting at age of 3+ you'll find all types of nerf guns from single bullet shooters to battery operated. You pay per half hour or by hour and there are 3 different packages you can choose from which also includes the types of guns you are able to choose from while your time is active. Here you are able to bring in your own nerf gun and will recieve a discount. If it's your first time you will need to buy their slip grip socks and can always reuse them for future visits. Protective eye wear is included and required once stepping into the little arena. While inside you are free to rotate any type of nerf gun that's included in your package. Every 15 minutes they will play mini games within the arena as well if you'd like to participate. To enter and to leave is when you are allowed to play which is written on your wrist band and announced on the overhead microphone system. They also have a waiting area for those who are not participating with couches and chairs to sit on in the front. The active staff at the front registers were very helpful on explaining how to pay and get the basic knowledge of how everything worked. However... this is where they loose a star... when we first entered the arena a KID was running the nerf gun hand out station. I mean he was with an adult. But he was with a lady that didnt know much about what they were doing either. They were there for about 20 minutes and it was so frustrating because the kid kept trying to give my son nerf guns that were only the single bullets saying hes so little so he needs a little gun.... my son is 5 years old and he has multiple nerf guns at home already that shoot a minimum of 5 bullets. That situation was hard because we were trying to be nice to the kid yet handle my 5 year old who was getting sad he kept getting "baby guns" and btw we did pay for the highest level so we weren't even offered the battery operated gun then we asked. Finally when I came back to the nerf gun station the actual staff was back. I'm not to sure if they were busy helping with the party in the back (it was a busy saturday with birthday parties happening back to back as well) or they were under staffed. Another down part was they didnt have lockers or cubbies to put your bags and shoes in. If they did they did not tell anyone. If it's a liability thing they should just include that of personal items in the liability form you sign and have a designated spot for our shoes at least. A lot of people including us were stashing our shoes under the chairs and couches in the waiting area and left it there till we came back. And as for my bag I was running around with it everywhere until I started sweating (playing with little kids shooting at you is tiring) I placed my bag in the corner and was watching it from a distance and a staff member saw it and said, "Oh we can hold it for you in a cabinet by the nerf guns".... I was offered that when we had about 10-15 minutes left... we were there already for 40-45 minutes. ‍ While we were playing our battery operated guns were also dying. Yes getting jammed and stuck bullets is one thing but dying batteries they should keep track and take care of right away. We are able for unlimited switch outs and rotations of our guns but we found a lot were just plain dying as the bullets didnt have much range while shooting compared to guns we finally found with full charged batteries. Other than that stressful and confusing situation this experience was very fun and exciting. Especially now that we know what we're doing and what actually comes with the package we purchased. We just had our son's 8th birthday here and it was a BLAST! Such a great place for the kids and even for parents if they want to bring out their inner kid and play with Nerf guns again. So we booked the party area where if you wanted more room, you can book the additional room. (It's the same area but there's just a divider between the room. They made it so if there were 2 smaller parties, they could book the same time slot). When we got there, however, they had built another party room which was supposedly bigger. But when we booked the party, there was only that option to book 1 room so we opted to get the additional room/side. So this is what they provide when you book the rooms: * plates * napkins * utensils (forks, knives, spoons - NO cups) * water for each player (15 per room if you get the party area we were in...so we had 30 all together since we booked 2 sides) * table covers * 5 tables total per side (4 for seating, 1 for food or misc.) * player wristbands (15 total for each side) The arena provides guns, Bullets/ammo, bullet bags, and safety goggles. You would need socks with the grip on the bottom to play but if you don't have, they sell it there. You just got to make sure that everyone entering the party area has socks because you would have to enter the battlefield to get to the party rooms. The employees were great! I can warn you, it can get chaotic with kids running around and trying to gather everyone in to sing Happy Birthday, but the employees will call your party over if they're playing in the arena to head to the rooms. Kona, Josh and Zen were great with helping us out during the party. As chaotic as it was, they would always ask if we needed anything and they would be very calm and collective in speaking to us and helping us out with whatever we needed. Thank you guys! Every kid's wish, every parent's dream. Located Uptown and near the karaoke machine booths (don't ask) is the Arena. You can't miss this place with all the Nurf and other air guns on display in front. Now there's a lot of people with different ideas on guns and some schools ban playing cops and robbers but this is for fun and teaches kids to be kids. First you have to sign a waiver on their kindle type device. The wavier is good for one year and I did ask about the info stored on the device. They don't ask for CC info but you do give up your number and email. Of course, you can put whatever info you want but leave your correct phone number for the just in case scenario. Info is suppose to be cleared every night. After signing the waiver, head to the counter. You pick your type of level aka gun/gear and then chose the allotted time you want. Anyone entering the play area has to wear mandatory safety glasses and their grip socks. Like the McDonald's grip socks in Ewa. You read that review right? After that pick up your gun, grab some bullets and shot away. For parents who want to chill, there's plenty of seating. I'm falling asleep relaxing on one of theses sofas. Couple of things you should keep in mind. There's no shoe cubbies here like McD so keep their footwear close. Second the place fills up quick so bring water for the keikis and yourself. They use portable AC but it still gets humid. Lastly, there's no check in like Chuck E. Cheese. So if your kid leaves the play area, make sure he/she knows where you're sitting. You might waking up to hearing your name on the PA system about lost child. Overall four stars. Kids can be kids and thats all that counts for plenty of parents. Great idea! We went for a birthday party this past weekend. As hectic as it was, all staff were helpful! The party rooms were clean, they had a fridge, tables and chairs provided. A large screen tv was also available in the room. They provided grip socks for kids AND adults. There was enough space for the kids to run and play. My child enjoyed it! I wish they had a separate walk way to the back rooms, we were getting shot and ran into just getting to the rooms. Lol! I'm sure this won't be our last time here. read more

Awesome place for kids birthday party. The party area was actually really nicely designed. We never hosted a party there but we were invited to a party and we absolutely loved it. Now my daughter wants a party there. But there somethings I didn't like is there... there was not enough employees walking around supervising the kiddos. Too many rough kids doing head shots. Oh and the bathroom was horrible. Didn't like how we had to walk through a messy warehouse with kids working on guns. There were kids playing video games and kids sitting on the couches and taking apart nerf guns and on top of that the bathroom was dirty and the trash was filled. The ground was dirty. read more
