I called the shop shortly after I received a notification today 10/11/2022 that Pups had responded to my review (below!, since there's not an option for me to send you a message explaining the details of the phone call I have no choice but to update here. The only mix-up I can think is the young lady I spoke to about scheduling a deshedding groom in which I told the young lady that's she's a Lab-Vizsla mix doesn't sound quite like a Husky to me But also maybe she doesn't know dog breeds, I would've been more then happy to inform her again as I did explain that we along with my dog in tow were at the Yelp Open House Event and one of the groomer's had quoted us the $90 fee for a deshed treatment only as I'm not sure who she was speaking with as she did sound knew which is fine, I give her props for trying. In today's economy I love my girl but as fast as she fills back up on her hair about 3 weeks post deshedding. Session and that's including w/me zoom grooming her 3-5days a week. We had such a wonderful experience today. Ashley helped us with Mr. Cat and she really knew her stuff. I could tell she is incredibly skilled with cats. Our cat is a little challenging and she knew exactly how to handle it, treated him with kindness and care, and he looks better than he ever has. Thank you for being willing to help us with our old, sweet (and a bit grouchy) cat. Side note, the place is adorable, so clean and calm and we will be excited to bring our dog in a couple weeks. Used Pups for the first time today so my dog could get his nails trimmed. They did a great job and were super fast! By the time I was done paying, his nails were trimmed and buffed. They have more extensive grooming services if you need them, but my chihuahua is fairly low maintenance. Scheduling the appointment was easy and they even had availability on Saturday! read more

Recommendations: Ask about prices ahead of time, be aware and knowledgeable about the services you're asking for and get quotes for add-ons ahead of time. Don't pre-pay online. We were fairly optimistic about Pups as they were quick to respond to our inquiry about grooming and initially calmed our fears about our pup who has groomer anxiety. However, our experience wasn't quite what we were expecting. We were charged $100 for a $60 service ($5 was for the teeth cleaning we asked for) but the reminder was a $20 fee for "Special Handling" and $10 for a pedicure. First off, we preemptively explain about our dogs anxiety and was never at any point in the grooming process made aware that there would be an extra $20 fee if our dog needed "special handling". Secondly, when my husband dropped off our dog he asked about his rough paw pads and they said that they could add a balm to the pads. They did not however tell us how much extra it would cost. Lastly, nail trimming and buffing was supposedly included in our Bath + De-shed package (or in the pedicure we were charged for) but they didn't complete the job as his nails are still jagged and sharp. We acknowledge it was probably because our puppy was struggling to stay calm because of his anxiety. However, I have never had a groomer struggle so much to provide the services they offer for my pup or charge me such a high amount. We're not necessarily mad about the service provided, more so we expected to be kept in the loop regarding our pups needs and cost. Sonya the Owner was kind enough to talk with us about our experience after and provided a refund for the Special Handling, pedicure and teeth brushing. They were calm and understanding of our situation and frustrations. I appreciate the professionalism they used in our experience. read more

We moved here from out of area and tried Pups for our 9 year old slightly anxious labradoodle. We are super pleased with her haircut. We were able to customize how short we wanted her hair and asked that her feet and paws be tightly trimmed. Trisha was very accommodating and our dog came home looking good, happy and most importantly not stressed. Plus it was the smoothest most consistent haircut she's received to date. The facility was clean and not stinky like I've experienced at other highly trafficked dog zones, plus they went out of their way to make special accommodations for my dog's autoimmune issues. ***DOUBLE COATED DOG BREED OWNERS BEWARE*** I am writing this review after I've finally cooled down from the shock that this place shaved my dog without my permission. I was trying so hard to keep my cool about this at the store, I nearly lost it when they brought my dog out. Now, every time I look at my dog I get furious and think back to what this place did to him. I took my dog here right after picking him up from boarding. I didn't trust the boarding center to groom him because they weren't specialized in grooming. Thought this place would be a great choice because of all the great reviews. However, this place freaking shaved my double coated dog and called me to notify me when they were already like half way done with shaving. They said he was "matted" in the neck area and made it sound like it was so severe that he could possibly die. And I told them to just stop shaving him, so they suggested me to take him to the vet to get him sedated to remove these nonexistent mats. However when I took him home and brushed him, I managed to brush a lot of the knots out. I haven't gotten all of it taken care of, but it definitely is doable with the brush. He is not at all matted. Shaving was completely unnecessary. They are clearly just lazy, and wanted to find the easy way out. Also, my groomer somehow changed from a woman to a man. I dropped my dog off with a lady, and the groomer was a totally different person when I picked my dog up. One more thing, my dog was not entirely dry when I picked him, his back and around his leg area, was soaked. The groomers are lazy and don't do their job. I am extremely upset about this experience. I don't care what the reason for shaving is, they should still notify the owner before doing it and make sure the owner is fine with it. It is so unprofessional of them to just shave a dog without first asking for the owner's permission. If he isn't allowing you to brush him and attempting to bite, maybe try contacting me to see what I want to do, rather doing whatever you want. And ever heard of a grooming muzzle? At the end of the day, he is still my dog, not your dog, you cannot do something like this without my consent. They have ruined my dogs coat. They have no idea what they're doing. I am never coming back here again. Also... Stop trying to justify your company's actions " due to the distress he was in we opted to have you pick him up before he was completely dry rather than keep him longer." No one at this company even told me wasn't dry yet. I only got a call saying that my dog was ready for pick up, nothing else. I didn't even find out his coat was still wet until later in the night. Double coated dog breed owners, do not take the risk of taking your dog here. read more

Thank heavens for Pups Eco-Friendly Dog Services!  I adopted an 8 year old Norfolk Terrier who was in desperate need of being groomed.  They were able to fit him in quickly and were very willing to take care of him considering I had no idea how he would behave.  He needed a lot of attention and they gave it to him.  He looked really cute afterwards!  The owner and the staff were all so nice and the facility is fresh and modern.  Thank you Pups for such a great experience!! read more

We love Pups! We've been twice and both times have been wonderful experiences for our dogs, Peach and Juno. It is such a relief having Kali, the dog trainer, there to help facilitate the grooming session. I was worried about my dog-sensitive bulldog, Juno, but Trish is so kind and gentle with him which makes me feel comfortable leaving him there. And again, having Kali there to tend to Juno's emotional responses and make him feel safe and calm is so so helpful! Nate is so good with Peach, too! He is very knowledgeable of the breed and their hair needs :) Peach has a little bit of separation anxiety, and once the team realized that and put Peach in Juno's kennel as they were waiting to get picked up made Peach feel completely at ease. Just another example of their care and tending to the dogs. We live all the way in Sandy, but the long drive is so worth it to know that my precious fur babies are getting the best service from Trish, Nate, Kali, and the rest of the team!
