Terrible service. The place was not sanitary. It smelled of dog urine, parking lot is atrocious. Right from entering, there were 3 other dogs just in the main lobby, un-attended. If we had brought our other dog who doesn't do as well with other dogs (especially un-leashed), we wouldn't have been able to make it past the lobby to even get serviced. We specifically stated no shave / buzz. Just a cut for overgrown hair and to be able to deal with the hotter temperatures coming in the summer. The cut is un-even, and if we even had requested a shave, this low of a cut for this type of fur is not healthy for them at all. She's a medium long haired mix. They do not need a shave this low, ever. Though friendly, the person who took our dog in did not listen at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone. EDIT: Also just found out the owners now of this business is not the original. They've taken over the original owner as the owner passed away. They will take the positive reviews while blame the other company mentioned in another review, who actually is the successor of this business. Don't bring your pups here. read more

We visited K9 behavior UT in June 2024 (370 W 900 S). We appreciated the opportunity for a free consultation. When we walked into the lobby we were hit with an INTENSE ODOR of incredibly strong, potent dog urine smell! I know dog businesses are bound to have odors. BUT NOT LIKE THIS! The kind of powerful odor we encountered CANNOT be achieved without long held practices of neglecting to clean up waste in a timely, thorough way. (And too many dogs in 1 area maybe). Oscar (owner/trainer) was friendly and is absolutely experienced and knows dogs, no question. But with us he was confusing and disorganized as to what he offers. He made assumptions about us and wasted time speaking to those assumptions. Also, they had 4 HUGE industrial fans running in the lobby area (very loud). Circulating pet hair & who knows what else. I took the fans to mean they didn't have A/C that day? - or - in general? I did not see where the dogs were kept or the conditions - BUT - I left worried that the dogs kept there could be in filth and possibly in high temps too. Their website is out of date and so a little misleading. I read they were wheelchair accessible but that's untrue (unkept dirt parking lot and step up to the door). read more

I first started taking my dog here five years ago when he was a puppy. I fell in love with the staff and how much they truly actually cared. They would recognize him by name and take him back, he would be tired and seemed like he got a lot of exercise. Now I take my new puppy there and I get the exact same treatment. I took my 1 yr old OEB Wally here yesterday for a free grooming. I picked him up 2 hours later, his right eye was bulging out and had blood all around it. I panicked and asked what happened to him. They told me it wasn't a big deal he was probably stressed out but he'll be fine. If I wanted to take him to the vet and they would pay half. I took him to the emergency vet this morning because BOTH eyes had blood all around them and were pushing out. The vet said it was blunt force trauma to his head or he was choked and it caused him to have sclera hemorrhage's in his eyes as well as an ulcer in one. The manager of k9 would not apologize nor had compassion for me and my dog, they wrote us a check and tried arguing that it was my dog that stressed himself out and they had no fault in his eyes bleeding. This was our first time getting our dogs hair groomed at this location.. when we first got their no one would answer the door, we rung the doorbell twice and even called, finally a women came walking fast very rudely, and through the door we heard her yell some very unkind words and that she was coming to the door. (Swearing) she rushed us through the dropping off process of our dog and said 3 hrs which ended up being 4 and half hrs instead. A different woman who helped us when we picked up was a bit nicer and seemed to actually care about the animals. Her haircut was good however we wanted bows in her hair and They did not do that for us like how we requested beforehand. Will not be returning. read more

Disgusting experience we clearly told her to leave our dog space alone and the rest of the body was fine if she needed to go short but it looks like a four-year-old did the job. Also we dropped her off at 11 and we tried to contact her after four hours and her business line was disconnected so we tracked down her personal line and gave her a call she told us that our dog had been cut a couple times so we instantly went to the facility and she said she would be done at 5:30 so we showed up at 5:20 Demanding to see our dog and sure enough our dog came out cowered in the corner and scared. She had three burns and a cut on her and looked as if she had been beaten. The owner honestly deserves to be in jail for animal cruelty. If she couldn't Leave her face then she should have called us and told us that. We are mortified that we let somebody like her go near our dog that we love dearly, she also left her half groomed and butchered. We will also be contacting animal control because she held her dog hostage we had a door until we paid for our services which we had to pay in full after finding out that our dog had been burned and cut open read more

I had my corgi mix groomed here based on a recommendation of a friend. My dog is nervous around strangers, but Oscar knew immediately how to handle him, and I left him feeling pretty good about a new environment for a sometimes-nervous dog. The groom was probably the best he's ever had. No rough patches, no flyaway hairs all over the place, no limping dog from a bad nail trim - all very good. It's not the prettiest place on the block, but they obviously know what they're doing. He came home happy and tired. Definitely recommend! read more

My dog just got done with about a 3 month training with oscar. He is amazing! My dog, Xavier, loves him and is so well behaved now. You can tell how much Oscar loves what he does and the results really speak for themselves. He has incredible prices for his training and individualizes the training for your dog and what you need. I have used Oscar to take care of my dogs since 2009 when he was way out in Riverton working with my German Shepherd's vet clinic. He GETS dogs and was/is the ONLY person I've felt right about leaving my dogs with. Now he has his own dog boarding place down in Salt Lake, which is about a 35 mile drive for me, but it's worth the drive to know my dogs are being taken care of by Oscar and his crew. read more

I've been getting my doodle groomed here for the past year or so and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. I've never had any trouble getting an appointment and their prices are the best I've found in town. That being said, the last two times they've shaved the bridge of my dog's nose raw. Additionally I've had issues with them not following my instructions regarding my dog's haircut and cutting him far shorter than I asked without consulting me first. I think this place would be great for dogs with short hair, but it's not working for me anymore. read more

This groomers they are just horrible! Their license should be revoked, they cut my dog, my best friend paw, was deep cut and didn't even mentioned anything, they just handed to me my poodle right after I like nothing but my dog was not acting well, was timid, sad, shaking and bleeding from his paw, unfortunately by the time I had turned around for to ask them what happened, they locked their door and wouldn't answered. I called them many times and didn't answered either by the time someone did answer it was another person, nor Oscar or his wife would speak to me and give me an explanation or apologies. We took our puppy in to get a grooming and specifically asked them to not trim her hair. Not only was her hair trimmed, but it was done extremely poorly, they cut her ear while doing it and I have never seen her seem so stressed out about being in a place ever. They refunded us for the visit but the damage was done. They didn't even try to apologize. They offer good prices but I would not recommend this place to anyone. No dog deserves to go through that. read more

Oscar and Rufina are amazing. As first-time dog owners they have helped us from the very beginning, even during the adoption process. Now they work with our puppy three times a week, even doing pickup and dropoff, in Riverton. They have been very helpful, always doing extra things for our dog. Every single person I've dealt with here is AMAZING and so, so kind. Oscar and his wife are so sweet with my puppies and they get SO excited to jump out of the car to go play when we pull into the parking lot. I've tried several different pet sitters before and have had very opposite results.. we won't ever send Luna and Drover with anyone but K9 ever again!! They are so flexible and have even fed and kept the dogs overnight when I wasn't able to pick them up before close. I would highly recommend their services to anyone!! read more

I absolutely LOVE K9 Behavior Unit for grooming and daycare. I have tried many different grooming places for my Golden Doodle and they by far do the best. I don't know how they do it but they manage to take out the dog smell completely, every time I take him home everyone in the family starts smelling him because it's just incredible how they do it. They also go over beyond when caring for your fur baby during daycare, and I always know he's in good hands. I walked by this place with my dog yesterday and after going in and talking to the owners I decided to have him groomed there. I wanted to make sure it would be a pleasant experience since it would be my puppy's first haircut! And he seems to have enjoyed his stay. Two stars because the owners and staff were very nice initially and they have long hours. As a student and single dog mom, I went here because it was nearby and they had really affordable prices. I don't usually write reviews, but I got what I paid for. My dog would come back with weird aggressive temperment most days, which I figured was just the influence of other dogs but then weird things started happening... Mabel came back with her nose bleeding one day, which signaled some negligence but I thought I'd let it go and it wouldn't happen again. Then she was groomed there two days later and her right eye was swollen and bloody and the owner acted liked she had no idea what I was talking about when I called to ask what happened! They did pay for half the vet bill. Mabel went back to daycare because they were friendly and I thought this must be a fluke, but she came back with spots of blood in her fur... I took her to daycare one more time since I had a package and was crazy busy, knowing it was probably a bad idea. This was a Sunday, which was different for us so I didn't realize they closed earlier. I showed up 15 minutes late and staff had all gone home and left Mabel in a crate for 12 hours! Yes, my fault for being late but I wished they would have called. Also, very poor quality boarding. Then they charged me $20 for the overnight boarding on top of her daycare, and acted like it was totally normal to just disappear and leave a dog crated for 12 hours. Overall, not a good experience and I'm not sure if they are just understaffed, but they were not able to take very good care of my dog. Very frustrating. read more

My dog hates the groomer and has serious separation anxiety when I'm away, but I just picked him up from a grooming appointment at K9 Behavior and I can tell he had so much fun with the other dogs. He is not stress shedding, he's happy! He hates getting his nails done and petsmart will no longer trim them (they said they were afraid he'd have a heart attack) but K9 Behavior got his nails ground without the drama. Extra bonus- he smells better than any bath he has ever had anywhere else. The gentleman who owns the place is SO kind and I definitely felt comfortable leaving my anxious pup with him. He's a pittie mix and often people get a little weird, but this guy was totally comfortable. The owner even told me they'll be there until midnight tonight, with classical music, playing with the dogs until the fireworks are over. I will most definitely be back!!!! read more

Normally I don't leave reviews, but I really needed to on this one. I have been researching groomers for a week, and this place had perfect reviews so I brought my puppy here. Oscar was very thorough and asked me lots of questions to make sure I got what I wanted, I felt comfortable. Oscar asked if she needed a haircut, I said no. He asked if I needed her ears to be trimmed and I said no. When I came back to get her, not only were her ears trimmed, but she is trimmed all over. We were upset and wanted to talk to the person who did it when I also found a nick on her ear. To my surprise a girl came out, I explained politely what we had asked for and let her know we were upset. Instead of saying sorry, she got really defensive and claimed to have only trimmed her ears and paws. Not only is this not what we asked them to do, it's a bold faced lie. When I told her about the nick she was shocked and asked to see it, I showed her and she, once again didn't apologize, just said that it's because there was a knot there and they had to brush hard so that happened. I told them about the knot before, it's not even in the same spot and you can see they also just cut the knot out anyway. After telling her this was not okay, she did offer a full refund, I'm grateful to get the money back, however I would have just done it myself. On top of this, the dog came out whining and scared and is still shaken up. She is the happiest dog and she hasn't had a smile on her face for the last two hours. It's breaking my heart, not too sure how she was treated while in their complimentary doggy day care? I will be posting pictures on my google review. read more

I'm normally not one to leave reviews, but I feel something definitely needs to be said in this case. I picked my dog up today from an overnight stay. I picked this place because it had pretty good reviews and was a convenient location. Upon getting my dog home, I noticed a very obvious limp, he is barely putting weight on his back left paw. After checking the paw out, I noticed his paw pad was bright red and he had a sore on it. I checked his other paws and they were sensitive too. He's barely walking around the house, just lying down and licking his paws. He looks sad and you can tell he's in pain. I called K9 Behavior to inquire about his injuries and they said they didn't notice anything while he was there. I asked about the play area, they have an asphalt area for the dogs to play in. Asphalt. When I picked my dog up, it was 87 degrees outside. At that point, the asphalt is way too hot for the pups. According to the Humane society, when the outside temperature is 87, the asphalt temperature is 143. His paws were burned. I pointed out that that wasn't safe to the woman on the phone. She said they would be happy to pay for any medical bills, which I appreciate, but that's not the point. Taking your dog to this place puts your dog at risk. I will be finding a different doggie daycare to trust with my dog and I suggest you do the same. read more
