The gentleman working there was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the pork and cheese pupusas, and they were delicious! You can tell they're made fresh to order, and they were definitely worth the wait. There was a steady stream of customers during the lunch hour, which says a lot about how popular this place is. Love this place so much. I've been eating at this place since I was a teen. Everytime I come back to CA I make sure I stop here because nobody does it better (don't tell my mom ). It does not matter what you order anything on that menu is golden. Service is amazing. José makes everyone feel welcome. It's like visiting a dear friend who happens to have an amazing restaurant. Don't skip the chicken soup, it's so fresh and delicious! But be careful because I burn my tongue everytime trying to eat it too fast. Pupusas are always amazing. I rarely leave negative reviews, but after my experience at this restaurant, I feel it's important to speak up -- especially for anyone with food allergies or dietary restrictions. What upset me the most was the complete lack of compassion and professionalism shown by the owner. When I tried to politely communicate my food allergy, instead of being met with understanding or concern, I felt belittled and dismissed. The owner's tone and overall demeanor toward me were incredibly disrespectful and made me feel embarrassed for simply trying to protect my health. Food allergies are not preferences or inconveniences -- they are serious medical concerns. Any restaurant owner should understand the importance of treating customers with care and respect when these issues are brought up. Instead, I was made to feel like I was overreacting or causing a problem, which was both frustrating and hurtful. A situation like this could have easily been handled with kindness, patience, and professionalism. I have to say that El Patio is THE BEST in Stockton. Very consistent. I've tried pupusas from various spots and time after time.... This establishment stands out. There were two large orders ahead of mine so my wait was 30 minutes. I think this is an average wait time for pupusas. I had the ones with chicharron, cheese and loroco. If a spot offers loroco, I trust that they are authentic. Not every person who sells pupusas has that authentic loroco hook up. The salsa was tasty, the curtido had a nice bite to it and I could have eaten 3. I should have gotten some tostones with crema. I'll be back. read more

Food was ok, maybe they changed their cook. Not a problem, we had been coming to this place for years, but today took the cake. I requested a container for their hot sauce, since I was taking some pupusas home, Owner was very rude when I asked for a 2nd one . He said no I'm have to charge you for 2nd one and I said that's fine but then he commented saying "I ain't f****** playing games like that with you guys , the last person took all my salsa." Rude. The food was perfect and I don't say that often of Salvadoran food spots. The pupusas were big and tasty. They truly felt like home. The curtido and salsa were also amazing. I loved that there was an option of having a regular and spicy salsa. The yuca frita and chicharron were flavorful, crispy, and fresh. I loved the platanos they were sweet and not oily. Lastly, the piece de resistance: the horchata de morro tasted as authentic as you can get. The service was great & we saw so many people come and go for pick up orders. Overall, 10/10. Delicious and authentic pupusas! Currently they only have to go orders, no inside dining, so call ahead and place your order. Orders take about 20-30 minutes. I hace not been able to find a pupuseria that was accidentally vegan friendly until now. Last time I had pupusas was about 5 years ago. I ordered mine with beans and loroco [type of flower] without cheese. Their curtido [cabbage in vinegar topping] was AMAZING paired with their hot salsa. Being my first time, I really wish the employees would tell you what to do and not expect you to know what you're doing. It felt awkward guessing where I was supposed to go or pay etc. Hence the 4 stars. But we dont go back for the service, we go back for the food. For those going for the first time: 1) You order your food and they will ask you of it's all together or seperate. 2) Take a seat at a table. Best pupusas!! We would always get great pupusas in SF because it is really hard to find good ones. We had them make 80 for a party and everyone loved them!! My husband is Salvadorean, and his family was impressed. We have had the casamiento, chicken soup and platanos fruits...all were delicious. 2 stars because I'm very disappointed. My girl called this place around 6pm today and placed an order for pick up. The people took our order while I was on my way to the restaurant, I wanted to try this place out and I was only 7min away. Once I arrived to the restaurant I found the front doors closed and locked up with a gate. I was a lil confused since we had just placed an order and I was there before 6:30, there closing time. I could see the employee behind the cash register and we even made eye contact a few time.
