Wow, I can't believe I slept on Pupuseria Del Valle for so long before trying it out for the first time this past summer. Since then, I've visited a few times and have ordered a few different types of pupusas, all of which have been absolutely delicious. Each pupusa is freshly prepared and served with curtido (pickled cabbage slaw). Each pupusa is a pretty large size - I order two each time, and 1 1/2 in, I'm usually pretty full. Pupuseria Del Valle operates out of a food truck in Common Fields. Unlike some of the other food trucks there, you order directly at the food truck's window. After ordering, you receive a restaurant pager, so you can sit down and wait for your food. The wait time is usually between 10-15 minutes. I'd never gotten a chance to try a pupusa (only gorditas, which are somewhat similar) before eating them here. I was glad to see that I could find papusas in the Corvallis/Albany area and have had this place on my list for a few months. I tried their bean and cheese, cheese, and pork papusas with curtido on a warm Saturday morning. While I'd ordered only two, one of the choices was accidentally given with my order. They brought out the correct one for free, so I ended up with three. The bean and cheese and cheese were my favorites. While I'm used to green curtido, the purple tasted as delicious! It had just the right amount of tang. The food was quite filling and I had to take a box to go. By the way, this is a food card with a secure location in a small food truck area located south of downtown, within walking distance of many shops. The two staff working were kind but there was some mild confusion when I placed the order, which was compensated for by them promptly making a correction to the order. read more

Gave this spot a try while at the farmers market, and enjoyed every bite! I had never tried pupusas before, but I am definitely glad this was my first experience. I had the queso pupusa which was served with a fresh homemade tomato salsa and pickled cabbage. The combo between the hot cheesy pupusa and refreshing, tangy condiments was perfect. Stopped by for lunch while I was passing through town. Menu looked interesting but I wasn't sure about portion size. I asked if I should get one or two... she laughed at me and said it depends on how hungry you are. She wasn't rude... just missed out on an opportunity to sell me more food. I got one pupusa and it wasn't enough but it was really good. We were excited to try something new. The bean/pork/cheese filling was weird and mushy and bland. They forgot the side of tomato sauce even after I asked if I needed to order it extra. They said no it comes with it. The papusa were greasy and the guy that worked there seemed unhappy. Will not return. I did like the flavor of the jalapeño cheese filling tho. This restaurant is part of Common Fields, which in and of itself was a great experience. We went twice within a week. The Pupuseria had excellent, fresh, authentic food! We had two pupusas; one Chicharron (Ground seasoned Pork and Cheese) and one Jalapeno (Ground Jalapeno with Cheese) with Curtido, which was appropriately but not overwhelmingly spicy. This is the 3rd time I've tried to get a tamale and once again they are out. It's lunchtime on a Saturday and I have tried the pupusas before but really wanted a tamale. Maybe do a little better planning to have enough food on hand to get thru the day. Probably won't try again :( read more

My partner and I eat pupusas from this stand any Saturday or Wednesday we have the chance to. Delicious and quick despite the long line of hungry pupusa lovers. Went to the farmer's market this morning to grab some pupusas for breakfast/early lunch. They added more options for the pupusas (my favorites are chicharron and cheese with zucchini.
