My family went here on a Saturday night for our Mother's Day dinner, and it is a meal that I will be thinking about for a LONG time. We had a reservation for 7:30. There was a little confusion about where to check in since people were ordering dessert from what we thought was the host stand. Turns out you can order dessert to go from the host. The host was very kind about helping us get in the right spot to check in. Once we checked in, they asked if we wanted inside or outside. We opted to eat inside since it was foggy and a little chilly. They do have heaters, and the outside is adorable, so I def want to come back and sit outside. Once we were seated, our server greeted us promptly. I didn't catch his name, but he was great throughout the whole meal. He had been there about 11 years, so he had the right recommendations and answers to our questions about things like when the building was built. He also asked clarifying questions to make sure he got us what we wanted. We started with drinks. I ordered Diet Coke and was offered a local diet cola. They are farm to table, so I thought this was charming. The flavor of it was really good. It tasted just like Diet Coke, but it didn't burn the throat quite the same. My little brother got their mint lemonade and it was super refreshing. For starters, we did the ceviche and Malibu nachos. Both were amazing. Some of the best ceviche I've had. It had honeydew melon in it which gave it a sweet but light flavor. It came with taro chips that I loved. It is a little spicy but totally bearable. The nachos were amazing. They had crème fraiche on them that was soooo creamy and yummy. I would call both of these must try items!! For dinner, we got the hanger steak, lobster roll, lobster mac and cheese, the sea bass, and the poblano risotto. I can't pick a favorite because they were all amazing. The chef clearly puts a lot of care into the way he is mixing the flavors. Everything is cooked perfectly. My stepdad was the one who got the sea bass. He said it was the best fish he's ever had, and he can be hard to please. Each dish also incorporated veggies into it very creatively so it didn't feel veggie forward but was! For dessert, we got the grilled chocolate cake. The cake was perfect. It was delicious without being too rich. The vanilla ice cream went perfectly with it. They also had some of the yummiest strawberries I've ever had on it. Absolutely delicious. This was truly an incredible experience with some of the most amazing food I've ever had, and you're eating it right by the beach with ocean views. The decor is adorable. The building was built in 1938, so it is incredibly charming. I loved it so much and hope to be back as soon as possible!! read more

My friends and I were in Malibu, stopped by the beach and then got hungry and stumbled upon Malibu Farm Restaurant through Apple Maps. Parking was off-site; it is difficult to find free parking. We paid $23 for it. We waited in line for about 30 minutes as they were transferring from their lunch menu to dinner (we arrived at 2:40PM and were not seated until about 3:15PM when they transferred over). We did not mind the wait; we enjoyed the cali beach views and nice weather. We were given the food and drink menu to look at while we waited. Service was friendly and our waitress was attentive. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese, the hanger steak, and lime-cod ceviche. The lobster mac and cheese was delicious! They filled the dish with a good amount of lobster (there was more lobster than pasta- which I loved)! The hanger steak was made to perfection, you could taste all the juicy flavors. Same with the ceviche, the seafood tasted fresh and had seasonings that complimented it nicely. The ceviche was served with plantain chips which was a lovely touch. I loved the decor of the restaurant, it feels very homestyle and cozy. Prices are a bit pricey but you can definitely taste the quality ingredients. Would recommend! read more

It was unseasonably warm the day we visited, so combined with the bright sun, we huddled under the umbrellas rather the couches on the pier. Was the smoothie good? Yes. Would I pay $12 for it again? A beautiful beach view in a very coastal restaurant. We came as a walk in during sunset on a winter Saturday and were seated right away and near a window indoors. The menu has a little bit of everything in that new-American, very healthy, seafood forward way. Price is high, but seems expected for the area. Starting with the cocktails, I got the marcha one and it was delicious! Pretty matcha forward and the flavors were there. 21 mile crab cake - a very healthy version lol but the crab cake was a good size and tasted good! beefy 'bu nachos - our heartiest plate and it delivered. The flavor was the classic beefy nachos without the cheese. Sea Bass Poke Bowl - fish was fresh, I think could use a little more sauce? build your own fish tacos - a good portion of fish to fill 4 tacos. I like the fresh cabbage and the sauce accompanied here was good. grilled chocolate cake - was a unique twist to a classic chocolate cake! The 'grilled-ness' worked really well with the chocolate. I think this place probably is better for brunch or lunch, especially with a nice day time view. I went in for dinner and from the start it already seemed inefficient. The check-in counter is also the same counter where guests order take out? Kind of weird. But, my party and a few others were all waiting in the line to be seated to dine in while the party ahead of us stood there figuring out their to go order. Service from our waitress was minimal. We had to wave her down to order, to ask for sauce and also for the bill. I saw that she did attend to a few other tables to see if they're okay, but she didn't tend to mine and a couple other tables. Why? No clue. I ordered the Malibu nachos ($21) and added chicken (+$8). For that price I expected more chicken and was disappointed. I would not order the nachos again. One of my cousins ordered the sea bass poke ($26) and said it was quite small in comparison to other places that give larger portions for a lower price. My other cousin ordered a kale and Caesar salad (no protein) and it was also really small for $19 (I posted pics of the food so check them out). Overall, I think this place is really not worth it for the food. It's nice being on the ocean front. That's pretty much what you're paying for because the food is a miss. If I ever go back, it would be to try brunch since images from Yelp look more promising. read more

We had a great time here. We were seated pretty quickly due to our party size and our waiter was super attentive. We had an amazing view of the water which was fabulous. I ordered an Aperol Spritz and some oysters to start. The oysters were a bit small but they tasted amazing. I ended up getting the Chicken Broccoli Quesadilla and I didn't know what to expect at first but it really stepped up to the plate. It came with an excellent sauce and every bite was to die for. Had such a great meal at Malibu Farm! The food here is just so vibrant--it honestly looks as good as it tastes. We started with a green smoothie that was actually light and refreshing, not that heavy, swampy texture you sometimes get. For the main event, the Green Eggs & Ham were delicious. The eggs were scrambled with plenty of spinach, and the side salad was a nice touch to keep it feeling healthy. The salmon salad was probably the highlight for me--it was packed with this beautiful rainbow kale and the salmon was cooked perfectly. We also had a grilled chicken bowl that came with a big piece of corn on the cob, which was super tasty. A quick tip on seating: The servers were all really sweet and attentive, which we appreciated! We did end up being seated right in the center of the restaurant. While the interior is still really nice and breezy, it's definitely not quite as "prime" as the outdoor patio with the ocean views. If you can snag a spot outside, do it--but the food is amazing regardless of where you sit! Definitely worth the stop if you want a fresh, "amazing" meal that feels like California on a plate. read more

Malibu Farm has been a Los Angeles favorite, staple, and a MUST of mine from the very beginning! Let's get the obvious out of the way - yes, it is pricey. In my opinion, however, this is practically a give-in....considering it's literally located ON the Malibu Pier and has TOP TIER quality and freshness to the food that it offers. I've gone multiple times over the past decade - and every time, I've experienced excellent service. Unlike SO many popular LA restaurants, I never get that aura and vibe of "you should feel lucky to be here". Not to be THAT person....but it's true! So many similarly popular spots give off that sort of attitude. Malibu Farm, on the other hand, feels homey, cozy, and relaxing....in SPITE of being so in demand and being in such a prime location. Another thing...even if you don't have a reservation, they're usually able to accommodate you and offer you a table somewhere in their QUITE expansive space. Now - on to the food itself... It's SO fresh, delicious, and high quality. The food here has legitimately been some of my go-to and favorites in the area for as long as I can remember. When I have family and/or friends visiting, I always take them here - and they always love the food! A few of my favorites: Lobster Mac (so fresh AND cheesy!) Ceviche appetizer Regardless of what you get or when you come, I think you'll find a visit to Malibu Farm Restaurant well worth it after all is said and done. I highly recommend! read more

You must have all your party there in order for them to seat you. I highly recommend tasting the Kale apple mimosa. It was refreshing and tasty. You def taste more apple than kale, but I tricked myself into counting this as green veggies for the day. I ordered the taco trio. They really load the tacos up which is a good thing. I came here for breakfast at the Marina on a nice morning. I was not able to get a seat by the window, but my view was still great. This restaurant has some great very healthy options. I got the huevos rancheros which were good but felt like they were lacking a bit of flavor. The meal itself was filling, and I could tell the ingredients were fresh. In addition, my friend's meal came almost 10 minutes after mine, which was a bit annoying. Malibu Farm Restaurant has the best views on the pier, as well as a large variety of dishes to choose from. We sat outside in the covered patio area, which has cool views of the ocean. The area is spacious and even with a crowd, it's still quiet enough to have a conversation. We tried the squash lavash and the lobster roll. Both dishes were great, with the lobster roll being my favorite! That guacamole they added on top was unique compared to other lobster rolls I've tried in the area, but it was pretty tasty. The lobster itself was fresh and the salad was bright. The matcha latte with oat milk wasn't my favorite in the world, but I really just wanted to try it out for lols. Right from the airport I stopped at Malibu Farm for a quick lunch. The restaurant itself is gorgeous with the patio bar being the highlights of the establishment. I came in around lunchtime, and was set immediately after being ingredient by a courteous host. Secured a really good table on the patio overlooking in the water, service was spectacular & attentive. The strip steak I ordered was cooked perfectly. And I love the side order of fingerling potatoes, they were delicious. I love Malibu Farm, and it's been a comforting go to spot for years. Don't be intimidated by the line, it's worth the wait! But keep in mind, if you're bringing your furry friends for a cool Malibu day like I did, the left side won't be an option. The restaurant's right side has a smaller outdoor area, but still offers great views. The last time we went was this past Sunday, and what a beautiful way to end the weekend! We had the chicken quesadillas and from the specials the mushroom farro- and oh my, it was delicious! So flavorful, comforting, and healthy. The chicken quesadillas might also be the best I've ever had. The sangria was fantastic too, really, really good. The grilled chocolate cake was not it for us, I wouldn't recommend that much. I'd seen this place online for as long as I can remember so I was so happy when I could finally visit Malibu Farm. At first I was a little confused how it's on both sides of the pier, and wasn't sure if I could be seated due to the signage, but the host brought me to a fantastic table with a great view. We stopped off for a cold beer after an afternoon strolling the pier and Malibu. Right at the start of the pier is where the restaurant is. Amazing view and chill Californian vibe. There's normally always a line as it's pretty busy. You check in at the hostess table which also has a little souvenir shop right behind. There's two main section of dining. To the right is more indoor and the left is more an open air dining. You can also dine on the pier as they have a little section that's part of the restaurant. We only came for a beer which was great with the view of the ocean and people watching. Ordered form the hostess and had our drink on the soft cushion seats while enjoying the sun and people watching. Service was good, staff were all friendly. It pretty busy so be prepared to wait if you're coming in the weekend. read more
