For the longest time I have loved this place. Their food is delicious and staff has been friendly. Unfortunately, after our experience today, we will not be coming back to Puran. Tuesday, April 16th, my mom placed an order of Butter chicken, rice, and garlic Nann. While eating she felt a sharp pain in her tongue and the food started crunching in her teeth, only to find that a shard of white glass was in her food and cut her tongue! We called Puran immediately after it happened asking to speak with a manager and let them know what had happened with the glass. The person who answered hung up immediately and never called back. I'm so disappointed in the complete lack of professionalism, responsibility and apology from the establishment. We will not be returning and highly suggest you do the same.

i had ordered 14. Aloo Vindaloo not chicken vindaloo.ate here for 2 years and i gotten my food wrong 3 times in the past 4 months.

i ordered aloo vindaloo not chicken vindaloo. i expected potatoes, if i wanted chicken i would have gotten the chicken vindaloo‍. i ate here for the past 2 years and had no issues till 4 months now 3 times. they clearly hired someone that doesn't know what they are doing.

Tiny portions of lamb dal $14 and butter chicken that I was given in place of chicken tikka masala $13.

Wow, huge carry-out failure!! I used the app to order and that was super easy but didn't indicate the mess that was to follow. I ordered lamb dal and chicken tikka masala. Both came in pint cups which is very tiny considering they were $14 and $13 each. They packed the rice into one tiny Styrofoam clamshell so as soon as I opened it, rice spilled everywhere on the counter. If they are too cheap to use 2 clamshells, that is a very bad sign. I opened my chicken tikka masala to find it was butter chicken which I can't eat due to a dairy allergy so that was a complete $13 I threw into the garbage. The lamb dal was edible but was incredibly blah. I selected the spice level as "regular" which is a step up from mild but I could've made a spicier dish with a jar of sauce from the store. When I arrived for my order, the male cashier went over the the kitchen window to get my food and then he engaged in a lot of non-English chatting with the 2 cooks while all three stared at me. Incredibly uncomfortable. He finally brings my food over and stops 4 feet from me and holds it out so I have to walk over to him to get it? Such an odd, creepy interaction. There is nothing in the universe that would make me return to this location with SO MANY other good Indian restaurants. AVOID!!!!!

I came here just because they are a part of a dining rewards program. The food was decent but everything else kinda sucked. First, of, the price was high. See my picture for two entrees. The real bowl curry/meat food was SMALL. The rest is all rice. We got 2 entrees, 1 beer, and 1 bread, the bill came back over $50. Second, the service was bad. My dinner special entree included naan bread and rice, the other entree also included rice. However, we only got 1 bowl of rice. When we ask the waiter, he said it will be ready soon. The rice NEVER came. Overall it was an okay experience and I probably won't come back. We have way too many other Indian restaurants in town to come back for this "okay" one.

Puran has always been one of our favorite Indian restaurants In the area by a long shot. Indian in Central Illinois has always been hit and miss... Puran has been consistent for a decade that I have been going. Did that all end tonight? Maybe. Wife had a coupon from one of those books the school sells... They wouldn't honor it. (Said the menu had changed... Not that I could tell??)... Then the waiter said he could take a few bucks off the meal... But I'll be damned if our bill of 40 bucks wasn't more than what it should have cost in the first place. We didn't get an itemized check... I was too annoyed to even care. Don't get me wrong... I can handle a screwup... But this just seemed to be complete contempt for the customer. Disappointed To say the least. Might be time to start checking out the other places in town.

Lamb Saag! Super good! Interesting combination.

Super good all around! Really unique combinations of food I've had before individually, but combined together I'm surprised! Chili chicken was the best, followed by the noodle paneer, and the lamb saag. All great! Highly recommend it!

Three star for Samosa, but Chicken biryani was the worst! It was more like rice in chicken soup.

My Indian co-workers and I go here on occasion. A bit pricey but really good. Try the palak paneer.

Rasoi is located in an unassuming strip mall where it looks like not much else is going on. Also looks kind of crummy inside but it's not that bad. The prices are pretty okay for a cuisine that often can be pricey. Even though it wasn't that particularly nice looking it wasn't worse than expected. It's a place that looks like it's struggling for business as we were the only ones eating inside. There was one person who came in to get a carryout order. Menu has the classic items. There's plenty of options for meat eaters and vegetarians. Good prices as far as around here. It's about $5 to get a shot of Bombay Sapphire, as well as a few other liquors. They serve the pop in cans and customers have to pour it themselves. It's about $12 for an entree. Unlike many Indian restaurants like to do and make customers pay extra to order, these include rice. I got the Chana Masala. They give you the option of level of spiciness. Medium is plenty hot for most customers. The hottest just overpowers the flavors to be honest. Great place as far as getting cuisine that isn't common in this area. It's located at North Martin Luther King Jr. and Pershing. There's a crap ton on the menu including many hot and spicy things for vegans and vegetarians.

Sorry about the suboptimal photos . . . this was a DoorDash order. And as always, I offer another…read moredisclaimer: Our favorite food is Indian food, so it's hard to go wrong, but we have an Indian restaurant we hold above all others, that we have patronized for over a decade (Tandoor in Clarksville, TN). And nothing ever compares. But Rasoi was definitely one of my favorites in recent memory and I really enjoyed the food, takeout or not! I had the gobi chili (dry), made with battered cauliflower florets tossed in a spicy sauce with onions and bell peppers. I also had the aloo tikki, not to be confused with the aloo gobi. Aloo tikki is two tasty potato patties that are meant to be dipped in flavorful sauces. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, perfect for the potato lovers. This version is like a potato patty had a baby with a hash brown, but great just the same. And the chicken vindaloo, served in a tangy tomato based curry with tomato. This was also delicious. I am usually not a bread or naan person (though I can definitely appreciate it), but this time I got the onion naan. It was thin and buttery and I could definitely taste the onions baked in. Excellent. Should be noted that this place does not offer spice levels on DoorDash (but they do on their regular website). I would call everything I received medium spice. It was flavorful, but not much heat. And that's probably what most palm colored people are looking for. I could use a little more heat, and I'm sure they would provide if I had asked for it in a note, but when I first taste a place, I usually start with medium to gauge the true taste of a dish. Many of the traditional Indian offerings--veggie samosas, pakora, chicken 65, various gobi iterations, naan, roti, biryani, various paneer dishes, . They also offer things that aren't as common in the average restaurant, such as tandoori fish (they actually have several seafood offerings), Punjabi Kadhi (pakoras in curd and sauce). They offer Indian-Chinese fusion as well (egg fried rice, chili chicken, vegetable noodles). They have a chaat (Indian street food) selection, dosas (lentil wraps). And while I'm not a fan of specialty restaurants catering to the American masses, they do offer various sandwiches, burgers, nuggets, and wings. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Will definitely order from here again. Hope this helps spread the word, as I am the first to add and review them on yelp!
