Best workouts ever and great instructors! I would recommend coming here. It's great for beginners and experts!

Bought a Groupon for 5 classes, not knowing what to expect. The signup process with a Groupon was a bit clumsy (email them, then register online, email again to say that's done, wait for confirmation that the Groupon is attached to your account, then register for class), and one of my two online class registrations wasn't correctly registered in the system so I couldn't check in. The mobile website opens multiple windows when you try to select a class, and doesn't even provide clear confirmation let alone have an option to add classes to your calendar. But, these are corporate not local facility complaints. The facility itself is modest: a small check-in area with a minuscule retail corner, one carpeted workout studio with a decently sized equipment room (lined with private cubbies), and a single stall restroom. The space is SPOTLESS, which is great because, like a yoga studio you leave shoes in the entryway (under benches) and enter the studio barefoot - but here you wear sticky socks for the workout (expensive Pure Barre sticky socks are available in the retail merch area). I don't love that the door is locked at all times other than maybe 20 minutes to 1/2 hour before each class, but I guess it's too small a place to have 2 staff on duty? (The instructor is the one doing check-ins, selling clothing, and greeting new customers) Instructors are hands-on, and tell you in advance they will manually adjust your form unless you ask them not to. They also name names to give compliments and encouragement during the class. Music is good, and the instructors all have their headset mics turned loudly enough to be heard over the music (not always the case in gyms!). The moves are fairly small isolations targeting primarily legs, abs, butt, and core, with some arm work (mostly triceps; some biceps). The workout is fast-paced and I was challenged to keep up. I easily reached the desired shaky muscle stage & had to rest/pause/stop some of the repetitions more than once. Small moves can still be challenging & effective! I might have benefited from a bit more of a walk-through of a few of the terms (hard tailbone was one, I think) and exercise moves, but I wasn't totally lost. Left class very sweaty and feeling like I'd accomplished something. Other than me, the two classes I've taken so far were filled with "young" and very fit women, but I guess only college students and stay-at-home moms are going to be in 9:30am weekday sessions! When I tried to register, the weekend classes were all filled days in advance so I can't tell if the regulars include many women over 35. After the Groupon, I will sign-up for the $99 one month unlimited cycle. Following that, regular monthly rates are roughly comparable to 2-4 times weekly personal training, I think. After class one, I was stiff but much less sore than with weight training - but the next morning I took a second class & could barely lift my leg to do a few of the exercises; my thighs still hadn't forgiven me for class #1. Today, two days after my second class, my calves are stiff from the "tippy toe" work. It's a good and surprisingly difficult workout that seems to target the areas I need to work on, and it's fun. read more

Pure Barre has done an amazing job adapting to new circumstances. They offer many virtual classes and now have in studio classes as well. They thought of everything in their protocol and clean between each class. I love being able to take class in-studio again! read more

I looooove this place. I haven't been to other Pure Barre locations but I have been to other barre classes and this type excels at getting you in shape. Both Ali and Kelsey are very good instructors, spending time with beginners to adjust movements and correct posture. I enjoy pure barre in general as the instructors mix up classes so you don't even get the same series from one day to the next. The studio is very clean and well kept from the front entrance to the bathrooms. Friendly and helpful front desk staff help with checkin and purchases without pressure. read more

I have been going here since a week after they opened with the exception of taking 2 months off per Dr instructions. I've gone to other barre classes and was very excited Pure Barre opened in RI and I no longer had to go to NYC or Boston. The staff here is great. From your first class to over your 100th class you always feel another muscle working that you didn't know you had. The instructors come around and tell you how great you are doing or they will quietly adjust your pose to get more out of a position. The studio is large enough to fit everyone in and you are not squished in like some exercise classes. You have plenty of space at the bar and the area around you to do the routine. I came for my first class this week, as a friend invited me. I have never been to a Barre class, and am new to group fitness. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel at home. The instructor spent five minutes with me before class, reviewing basic moves and really making sure I understood the class and the format. Music was very upbeat and fast faced, the class moved quickly, and I did struggle to keep up, but I know that will improve in time. I love that they come and adjust your form to make sure you are getting the best workout. Everyone was super friendly and I immediately signed up for the one month unlimited for new attendees. So after my unlimited new client month I decided to sign up for an additional 6 months. They have two different auto pays-6 months and 12 months at a low price. I can't say enough good things about this workout! After 19 classes I can say I'm getting used to the moves. Even so, the instructors still help me adjust so I can feel maximum burn. I feel like each class I'm feeling my body do things I couldn't even remotely do in the first few classes I attended. In my mind I always feel like pushing my body more- yet at the same time always listening to the instructors encouraging words they always say: "listen to your body" .. and it's true, some moves are near impossible for me to do and it helps to know it's okay to modify while listening to your body's limit. I absolutely love the energy and positive feeling the class provides you when you leave. During class, I find myself crazy focused-staring in the mirror then the instructors say something that makes me laugh or smile- reminding myself to relax and enjoy it, it's all good! It's such a laid back atmosphere where you are encouraged to do your best! Again it helps to know even being a new, so many different body types and ages come to this class. I've taken Barre at my gym and decided to give this a try. The instructors are well trained and the music is motivating. I initially used a Groupon and it is apparent that they prefer you don't. Online they claim it is a friendly environment but it is not. The members do not make eye contact and saying hello to another seems odd. The very high priced monthly fee is not worth it for me The classes do not make me nearly as exhausted as a long brisk walk or a strength training class. I'll take a pass. read more

2 years ago I was not able to do a fraction of what my body can do now. I love the high energy music which pushes me through each section of the class including the final 10 count! The final " 10 count" is where the magical change happens. I took 5 class in my first week and saw positive results. This is when I got addicted. I recommend getting the New Client Special and go AT LEAST 4 classes a week to see the results you want. I am happy to say I am a PB addict and will be for a very, very long time... read more

Pure Barre has truly changed my life. I used to be a dancer and that kept me in great shape. Once I stopped dancing, I just went to the gym but never really enjoyed it. I'm so thankful to have found a workout that I love and look forward to every day. Pure Barre is a full body workout...it's challenging, but the class goes by fast. Every class is different so the workout never gets boring. The music is great and all of the instructors are awesome. It's such a great stress reliever and also a wonderful community where I have met so many amazing people. It's exciting to see how much stronger and more toned you get with each class, and I couldn't believe how much flexibility I was able to regain (you don't need to be flexible or have a dance background to do Pure Barre). Pure Barre is a great workout, but this studio has zero customer service. There is no water fountain for refilling your water bottle, the instructor never introduced herself to me, and the lights were flickering through the entire class. When I mentioned this to the instructor, she literally said, "Yeah, it's awful. And I have to be here all day." Right...but I just paid $23 to get a migraine! I've been to PB studios all over the country and never miss an opportunity to take a class when I am traveling. This studio is the pits. read more

Since my first class at the EG location a year and a half ago, I have been a Purebarre addict! I am there at least 4 days a week. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, the instructors are amazing, and the workout is unbeatable. I couldn't bend down and touch my toes when I started, now I can do so easily. And my core strength still surprises me. If I miss a few days of barre, I am devastated. It truly has become a part of my routine and I love it. read more

Pure Barre is by far my favorite workout. I decided to start after I saw my friend's results. The studio is beautiful and clean, and the instructors are friendly and extremely helpful. They really make sure that you have proper form, in order for you to get the most out of your workout. This workout is definitely worth the money, because you see results in a relatively short amount of time (if you go to enough classes during the week). I have not taken a class here but I did go into the boutique to purchase some clothes with a gift card I had received for Christmas. I was absolutely appalled at the way I was treated, from who I later learned was the owner, which dumbfounded me even more. She was downright rude in the tone in which she spoke to me and also acted as though it were my fault that they forgot to lock the main doors during the class time. The barre studio that I belong to, even a Pure Barre studio I've attended back home in MA, always has an employee working in the boutique during class hours; since the doors were unlocked during a scheduled class time, I assumed this studio functioned the same way and entered. I was so annoyed with the way I had been treated that I ended up just purchasing the same top in 2 different colors to get out of there. I had a small balance left on my gift card and they KEPT it without offering it back. I will never again go to this studio or the EG location, and I will let everyone know who asks me what my honest opinion is and what my experience was. Horrible customer service. read more

I have been attending this location for a little over 2 years and really enjoy the workouts. Being a figure skater in the past, the work outs are challenging and really improve positional awareness. They are continuously changing, proving new and dynamic challenges to promote muscle growth and strength. The hands on corrections really help to complete the program with appropriate form and technique. Pure Barre is a fantastic method to provide strength and health.
