Pure bean coffee is one the hyped coffee house in Idyllwild. It's always busy especially during the weekend. We ordered Honey Lavender Latte, Nitro cold Brew with oat milk, Cozy Cabin, and Drip coffee Idyllwild Blend (blend of dark chocolate and dried berries). Taste delicious. I highly recommend this place for a dose or doses of Java

PARKING Plenty of space to park. INSIDE / LOCATION Just on the edge of town center, it's super convenient for all of your caffeine requirements. Fancy vacation coffee, plain drip morning-wake-up, afternoon tea: all close by. There are plenty of big tables to sit, eat, camp. There are nice spots outside on the patio if the weather is good. PRO TIP: if weather is good, sit in the park and look up. SERVICE Excellent and patient on a quiet Monday morning. FOOD The drip coffee today was very nice. Nutty - a dark roast (my preference). Oatmilk Something fancy and blended up was also really good. VEGAN OPTIONS Vegan cookie (PCT) was soft and not too sweet. Perfect small breakfast pick-up. Vegan hummingbird Square cake was DELICIOUS and GLUTEN FREE. Did not have the gummy gluten free texture you'd think of for something so tall and dense. There were only 2 vegan food options today, but both were a success. STICKER! We didn't get into any of the souvenir shops, but this place had a selection of stickers for sale. MAYOR! And got to see the mayor drive up.

Such a cute coffee shop. Iced or hot cozy mountain latte was our favorite. There seemed to always be a wait But it was worth it.

Great experience here! Awesome customer service and delicious drinks. I came here just a few minutes before closing and asked if they had time to make 2 drinks. They said yes and happily made them! We exited the building 3 minutes after closing and really enjoyed the taste of in-house made iced coffee :) will be back.

Of all the gin joints.... But seriously with about a dozen coffee shops in town this is the one I like best. The roast and grind make for an excellent cup of Joe and some well crafted coffee drinks. The scones are amazing and have enough butter to make Paula Dean blush. It's a nice Cafe with merch, and a great selection of Pure coffee beans and mugs, comfy furnishings and some great outdoor seating.

. Coffee here was amazing. I had the "Alpine Autumn," which had pumpkin and white mocha. I ordered it half-sweet, and it was still strong in sweetness--but so good. My wife had the "Cozy Cabin," which had caramel and vanilla. She enjoyed it a lot as well. The place itself was really nice, and I would come here anytime to hang out for a while. There was a line when ordering coffee, but everyone seemed to know what they wanted before they got to the cashier. They had pastries that looked delicious and burritos that also looked great--but we didn't get any of those this time. This place has a single-person bathroom, and for some reason, everyone seems to be here to do a number two. So if you see a line for the bathroom, expect a wait. If you really need to go, find another spot--there's an outdoor restroom not too far from here. I would highly recommend coming here for some coffee--and maybe even try some pastries. Next time I'm in town, I'll definitely be trying the pastries and one of the burritos.

Cute inside! Dog-friendly!!! It was puppy city on the patio. The coffee was pretty nice but a little pricey for what it was, a little milky for my taste. Friendly service so cute interior!

So nice we came here twice. The first day we got ice coffee with half and half. My husband and I loved the taste and we thought it was SO GOOD and refreshing for a hot afternoon. We ended up coming back the next morning for a hot coffee to have with our donut from across the street. The hot coffee is also SO GOOD. I love good coffee and this is definitely the spot! Service is friendly and pretty quick. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. It's clean and modern in here. My only complaint is that there was lipstick on my mug and I don't wear lipstick so....

Came up to Idyllwild with my parents because I had never been here before. The staff at Pure Bean were the first people I met and they were so nice! I had a lovely conversation with the barista and ordered a honey lavender latte that was so delicious, even when the ice melted the coffee, honey, and lavender flavors were still strong. The shop was also really cute and I loved the aesthetic. Will be coming back next time I'm up here!

Got the honey lavender latte with two shots of espresso. It took about 20 minutes to get one cup of latte. It was OK but the lavender taste was very weak and it was overly sweet but didn't taste like honey. As I had to wait a while to get my latte, I waited in line for their one bathroom & got to watch the employees make the coffee. They seemed inexperienced, clumsy & spilled a lot into the sink next to the ice machine. Most of them seemed to fumble around & hence the long time it takes to get your order. I was not impressed with their coffee or the service. Their pastries looked OK but didn't try them as they didn't seem that good. No prices next to the pastries & the pastries looked just blah... They can definitely spruce up the pasty display case & make them look much more appealing than they did today.

Cool mountain town coffee shop with a relaxed, laid-back vibe. Great place to warm up, grab a solid cup of coffee, and take a break while exploring. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels cozy and local. Exactly the kind of spot you hope to find in a mountain town.

Almond croissant (warmed up). Flaky, buttery, very tasty filling.

We got a drip coffee and a pastry and they were both perfect. The medium roast coffee was smooth, balanced and delicious. The service was friendly and quick! The ambience inside was lively for a Thursday afternoon.

In September 2025 they moved across the street from their old location (I got lost finding the new shop!). To save you time finding it, it's tucked behind The Owl Pine Shop, which is to the southwest (left) of the Speakeasy Bookmarket and Raven Hill Bagels/Collective. If you're driving up North Circle Drive towards Humber Park, it's on the left, across the street from the record shop past Nomad Ventures. I'm not exactly sure where you're supposed to park, but I parked on the street. They have these nice aluminum cups and will discount future drinks if you bring it back (my cup is a few years old and looking great). The coffee is really phenomenal -- I only drink black coffee. My iced coffee was massive and $5 with the discount for the reusable cup. They offer beans too (didn't see the price) and they have these fancy dark chocolate bars that probably would pair well with a coffee. Staff is always friendly!

I asked if one was enough for me and the associate said "yes, I can barely finish one". Not sure how that was the case as I was left hungry after I finished mine and my coffee. While they were preparing my order I overheard a cook say they ran out of bacon, then was told my order was delayed because they had to go to the nearby restaurant to get some bacon. My biggest gripe though is that they prepared 2 of 5 dishes on plates and for some reason made the other 3 in to-go containers. (We were one of two groups seated to eat in the dining area). Then they gave is plastic ware to use resulting in me breaking two forks while I was cutting my chewy crepe. Nice concept but it did not deliver on expectations. Highlight was the Mexican coffee. That was actually pretty good. Unfortunately I will not be returning.
