This is a great little spot near the circle with a welcoming atmosphere and consistently friendly service. This was our second visit, and both experiences were just as enjoyable as the first. Definitely recommend this coffee joint while visiting Idyllwild. The lavender coffee was flavorful and strong with default 4 shots of espresso. The strawberry poppy loaf wasn't too sweet with the strawberry shining through. The jalapeno scone was surprisingly good for a savory scone. Some parts were pretty spicy too. Ok...this might be my new favorite place in town for coffee!! Upon walking in I noticed how packed it was with people on their laptops and lots of people outside sipping their drinks. I thought ok maybe this place is popular for a reason! I checked out their menu and looked at their yummy sweets. I decided to order an iced honey lavender latte with oat milk with a carrot cake cookie and a warmed chocolate croissant. Wow the lavender was seriously delicious and the best lavender latte I have had!! The carrot cookie was a bit hard but very tasty and the chocolate croissant was great with oozing warmed chocolate. PRO TIP: if weather is good, sit in the park and look up. SERVICE Excellent and patient on a quiet Monday morning. FOOD The drip coffee today was very nice. Nutty - a dark roast (my preference). Oatmilk Something fancy and blended up was also really good. VEGAN OPTIONS Vegan cookie (PCT) was soft and not too sweet. Perfect small breakfast pick-up. Vegan hummingbird Square cake was DELICIOUS and GLUTEN FREE. Did not have the gummy gluten free texture you'd think of for something so tall and dense. There were only 2 vegan food options today, but both were a success. STICKER! We didn't get into any of the souvenir shops, but this place had a selection of stickers for sale. MAYOR! Of all the gin joints.... But seriously with about a dozen coffee shops in town this is the one I like best. The roast and grind make for an excellent cup of Joe and some well crafted coffee drinks. The scones are amazing and have enough butter to make Paula Dean blush. . Coffee here was amazing. I had the "Alpine Autumn," which had pumpkin and white mocha. I ordered it half-sweet, and it was still strong in sweetness--but so good. My wife had the "Cozy Cabin," which had caramel and vanilla. She enjoyed it a lot as well. The place itself was really nice, and I would come here anytime to hang out for a while. There was a line when ordering coffee, but everyone seemed to know what they wanted before they got to the cashier. They had pastries that looked delicious and burritos that also looked great--but we didn't get any of those this time. This place has a single-person bathroom, and for some reason, everyone seems to be here to do a number two. So if you see a line for the bathroom, expect a wait. If you really need to go, find another spot--there's an outdoor restroom not too far from here. I would highly recommend coming here for some coffee--and maybe even try some pastries. So nice we came here twice. The first day we got ice coffee with half and half. My husband and I loved the taste and we thought it was SO GOOD and refreshing for a hot afternoon. Came up to Idyllwild with my parents because I had never been here before. The staff at Pure Bean were the first people I met and they were so nice! Got the honey lavender latte with two shots of espresso. It took about 20 minutes to get one cup of latte. It was OK but the lavender taste was very weak and it was overly sweet but didn't taste like honey. As I had to wait a while to get my latte, I waited in line for their one bathroom & got to watch the employees make the coffee. They seemed inexperienced, clumsy & spilled a lot into the sink next to the ice machine. Most of them seemed to fumble around & hence the long time it takes to get your order. I was not impressed with their coffee or the service. Their pastries looked OK but didn't try them as they didn't seem that good. No prices next to the pastries & the pastries looked just blah... First time here since the ownership changed. Ordered a latte and a regular coffee with a blueberry lemon poppy scone and a strawberry Nutella turnover. The food was yummy and hit the spot. The latte was mediocre but I wasn't expecting much. The coffee had a bug swimming in it so we exchanged it for another one. Husband said it was ok, nothing special. Perhaps their specialties are the non traditional coffees. Service was ok. The girl at the counter was sweet but lacked personality although it was quite early. Ambiance is a typical coffee hangout. I think Mamma Mia has better coffee since they use Lavazza and the Atomic cow is a good choice too but neither open early enough so this was our only choice. read more

Cute little coffee shop! Great vibes, friendly staff, and cheerful clientele. They had a nice selection of breakfast pastries; we tried the pistachio/date scone, and it was amazing. My wife got the sparkling americano with orange flavor. It was pretty good; she prefers her sparkling Americanos with tonic instead of just sparkling water, but it was still good, and the orange flavor worked well with it. Only downside was the service was a bit slow, but I guess that is to be expected in a small mountain town where we are all here to relax, and not in a hurry. Service seems to approve (meaning faster, staff was always friendly). Looks like there are good options for some pastures too! The raspberries coffee cake looks yummy. Croissant didn't seem to be too appealing but maybe they are good (I didn't buy any). My matcha with coconut milk is really great. Temperature is just right, not mouth burning hot. Not my first time having matcha here but first time have it with coconut milk and I think the coconut aroma enhances the experience for me personally. I really enjoyed it. The grape is yummy. A bit light on the cinnamon flavor but maybe that's the right touch for most ppl. I believe All the frappe has coffee in it and its blend with a good variety of choices of syrup. Cream is optional. This is an exceptionally well designed and well run business. The coffee is perfect, the staff are quick yet cheerful. I was thinking these things while sitting inside on a comfortable chair and slowly waking up while sipping my dark roast. I had walked there around 8am on a chilly morning. The inside was warm and spacious. The person at the counter greeted me and took my order right away. I later spoke with the owner and complimented him on a very well designed and well run business.
