I was excited to find this spot on yelp when searching for coffee shops in the area. The photos and reviews looked promising. What I didn't realize is that the photos are old and reviews seem to be for a place that isnt the same owner perhaps? They now have an automatic coffee machine that makes, quite possibly, the world's worst coffee. Calling this place a coffee shop is laughable. To top off the terrible coffee experience, customer service was awful. We found people in the area to be super friendly, but not here. I wouldn't return. read more

I recently went here with two other people for a business meeting. The seating is limited and we had to negotiate with another group in order to fit into a cramped corner. However, the coffee was good, reasonably priced and the books and decorations make for a interesting atmosphere. It's a nice, bookish hole-in-the- wall and it's not Starbucks! Basically a scam. Ok atmosphere and books, terrible coffee. Came here after seeing people talk about the coffee and drinks. I don't know what happened but all the coffee machines from the other photos were gone, most of the drink menu was gone as well, and they only have a single nespresso machine. They are now selling cheap home brew quality drinks at coffee shop prices, coasting off good reviews from some past coffee shop that no longer exists. Do NOT go here for the coffee. Also I asked for a straw and was handed a floppy rubber one covered in white goop. read more

Visiting from out of town and decided to try this place out. Upon entering the shop we were greeted (not very warmly) but throughout the entire interaction he never once looked up while speaking to us and remained very rude. The menu lists "fruit cobbler latte" which I took as being a latte of multiple fruit flavors but to my surprise, the barista sounded annoyed asking which fruit flavor I'd like. Later when asked for a straw, the same barista said he would only give a straw if we stayed and had our drink there.."that's why we have those sip lids"...what the heck?! Very disappointing, not to mention the drink was absolutely disgusting and tasted like soap. read more

Apparently they get most of their Baked goods from Dos Hermanos Bakery. I got a Croissant & 1 Muffin as pictured. Not pictured was an item called a Cruffin & it was freaking delicious! My friend and I meet sometimes in OC and this time we just wanted coffee and maybe a light something to eat. I mistakenly chose this place instead of a real coffee shop. It was like stepping back in time and not in a good way. I had no idea this was really just a book store with a little coffee stand in the middle. This place was cramped and crowded with stuff and was truly an awful experience. Just like back decades ago there were people taking up large spaces to work on laptops. Even the counter felt too close to the door and you always felt on top of people here. Felt more like a place for regulars. The latte tasted sweet and all, but not the actual flavor I ordered. Cruffins seem like a good idea and was tasty, but the execution left it messy and unbalanced. They just yell out drink orders rather than even getting a name and it took a really long time just to get that drink. I've never waited that long for a coffee before. Bar stools crammed too close together to really sit on your stool even. We were able to move from the bar with the narrow walkway right behind you to a cramped table. Other customers were just really rude and I couldn't wait to be finished so we could leave. I would not recommend this place ever to anyone for any reason. read more

They serve coffee and pastries from well known, reputable, local small businesses. The staff is friendly. The price is reasonable. This is a cute and quaint little coffee shop, and honestly it's some of the best coffee I've had in Oregon. Their menu is simple but packs a punch, and my mocha was flavorful and filling. Honestly this is the best chai I've had at a coffee shop, every time I've tried one it usually is watered down with no flavor ! This one was full of flavor I could taste the spices in it :) And they have milk alternatives for my vegan/ lactose friends :) Now the danish YUM chefs kiss honestly so delicious As to the place it's self super cute ! This definitely wasn't here when I lived in town, but since it arrived it's obviously thriving, and deservedly so. One of my adult kids recommended this place, and it did not disappoint. It's a coffee/book/game/gift shop that is a perfect retreat for the afternoon. The coffee and chai were excellent. They have a variety of fresh and delicious pastries. The batista that served us was super friendly and great at their job, and the other employee there was very helpful with the books. It has several small tables, and the atmosphere is relaxing and aesthetically pleasing. It looks like this is going to be a weekly stop for me and my high schooler this summer. Paid street parking is available, but it is accessible for those with mobility issues or people with strollers. It is also affirming for those in the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ community. read more

I love this place. We had a bagels with chive/onion, vanilla latte, and chai latte. They were all spectacular. The chai was spicy, and not super sweet like most coffee shops. Came in for a coffee while my car was being serviced around the block. 2 people working, 3 people in the store. Quaint little coffee shop with a built in bookstore. I loved the Alice in Wonderland theme and it was fun to look around at the pretty wide book selection they were able to fit nicely into the space. They also had a good assortment of "Portlandesque" gifts and could see this being a good place to go to grab some nick knacks for gifts in the future. The best coffee shop in the far southern suburbs of Portland. It has excellent Stumptown Coffee, a great tea selection, and awesome pastries. Great seating at both tables and a bar. Good WiFi.
