They even had almond milk since I can't do regular milk. And the breakfast sandwiches are made to order and were hot when delivered to our table. They even have a drive thru! I'm visiting from CO and this coffee shop was near my hotel. I ordered the Americano and homemade muffin. Both had great flavor. The staff were very friendly and engaged everyone there with a smile and conversation, all while quickly working to get everyone through in a timely manner. The shop itself had plenty of sitting room and had a comfortable feel to it. I'll be back the next few mornings I'm here and would recommend to anyone else. read more

This place is crazy. It survived covid which is success on it's own. Our group meets there every Monday from 9-11 am. It's always busy, including the drive through. The parking lot is small with a second lane for driving through without stopping. There plenty of street parking too. Bagels are excellent, skip the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Stopped in to meet a friend for coffee. I tried the Mexican latte and it was just the way I like it. A good mix of coffee, chocolate and cinnamon. I chose a cranberry orange scone. After I took it to the microwave provided I gave it a short warming time but it didn't change the hard texture. I tried to eat it but it was so dry. Not to worry. A staff member came by to collect my friend's plate I pushed mine and said I was done. When she asked why I didn't finish it I apologized and said it was too dry. She offered to replace it with something else. I chose the lemon loaf. A better choice. Not many places offer satisfaction guaranteed. I know I will choose this place for a meetup or just a cuppa. Always wonderful service and they go pretty fast even when busy! Consistency is key when I rate a place and their food and drinks are no exception. They are willing to accommodate if you have restrictions - obviously not a dedicated gluten free facility or vegan so don't go there for that sort of thing! They need to use tumblers for making the iced drinks. Anything that involves a powder they're very bad at mixing with the shots prior to adding milk, so the drink's super chunky. Not to mention lukewarm, where as if they used a tumbler they could toss it with some ice before putting it in the cup. I've noticed this was an issue there, so I asked for extra ice, still had barely any. This is a quaint little mom and pop coffee shop with an amazing cafe. When ordering they have so many options my youngest ordered a breakfast burrito she had the choice of either a regular, spinach, tomato, or wheat tortilla it came out crisp and hot! I ordered the breakfast sandwich which came with the choice of either croissant or bagel. I chose the croissant which was buttery and flaky. The decor is homely with a sitting area with books and a fireplace. They sell local artists paintings and they are decorated throughout the building love the local support. Would definitely stop in again if I was in the neighborhood. read more

I have enjoyed this little bistro as far back as it operated from a coffee shack. The owner has put tlc into the business and has been known for her robust coffee drinks, pastry and fresh made breakfast sandwiches, lunch menu including homemade soups. cleanliness is always A+ as well as the atmosphere. Prices have increased, as well as most restaurant establishments, which is probably a domino effect. this is a given, and acceptable when patronizing, as long as the food remains fresh, and of the same quality that keeps folks coming back for more! read more

The staff are great. They are friendly and created a relaxed vibe (in contrast to places that create an up tight vibe). I've always enjoyed my coffee but their bagels are probably the highlight. Didn't try the coffee, we had lunch. The atmosphere inside is nice. Lots of options. Unfortunately it was a mixed bag. The Ruben sandwich was nice and the salad was good. However, the bagel sandwich was on dry bagels (it was a Sunday so it was probably a little old). The wrap was drenched in dressing. So make sure they go light. When I say drenched, I mean it was inedible and a bit ridiculous. The good news is they swapped out the bagel for regular bread without complaint and generally seemed nice. However, the staff was fairly unaware of the menu options. They didn't know some of the sandwich toppings that are available. Overall, a below average experience. This was my first time so take it with a grain of salt as it could have been a bad day or strange mix of staff. Many others would have slapped the 1* review down on this but the staff was generally nice and the space was nice so extra star for that. read more

This place is a right up the street from me. It does have a really nice atmosphere, and the people/owner there is friendly. I guess I got turned off by the religious vibe of the place. It is subtle but present. I was excited in the beginning about music playing on the weekends, but again it was religious themed, and so it really wasn't for me. The coffee isn't the best that I've had but I go through the drive thru sometimes. Sometimes I get a egg sandwich too. I've had the small pizza and salad before too which wasn't bad. In general for breakfast stuff I make my own, for the breakfast options for healthy eating in Gladstone aren't great. More like fast food options around here. So, this place OK for me. It was really good with a great crispy croissant. Staff was very friendly and kind and I truly appreciated being wished a blessed day at the conclusion of our interaction. I have gone to this cafe on and off for several years to work on my writing or other things. Though I've always been a bit put off by the combination of Christian things being sold and on the walls - and the juxtaposition of many "do not" or "no" or "X costs extra" vibe/signs, it was convenient and I could ignore. Yesterday was my last visit. While quietly minding my business, two gentlemen - 60s or 70s - sat behind me and began reading. A bible out loud. Again, no big deal; heard it there before, often with emphasis on passages I disagree with or clearly proselytizing. However, their conversation soon turned ugly - how "everyone blames Trump for everything and just look at the choices we had in 2012. A Mormon and a Black! And he clearly had Muslim roots," one said. I was furious to hear such outright racist language and I turned to look at the man facing me. He must have said something to his companion because said companion then started saying (in a quite privileged yet "reasonable" voice), that whenever people see others in a MAGA hat, they automatically judge (he wasn't wearing one BTW). Story too long to share, but I moved seat loudly and just had to share how their racist language offended me, especially from purported Christians. It left me feeling the Crossroads cafe is an environment that welcomes this type of bigotry thru their environment. Won't be coming again. read more

I went here last week for a quick bite to eat. I ordered a sandwich -- the pesto wrap. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. The pesto flavor wasn't very prominent. I know pesto is expensive, but if you're gonna call it a pesto wrap, you should be able to taste it. And just a couple of spinach leaves and the very unripe tomato detracted from it as well. The biggest problem is how long it took to get the food: 25 minutes! Not reasonable, imo and it wasn't crowded either. Would I go back? Meh. I don't think they really have their act together, and their prices are too high for what you're getting, so probably not. read more

I'm super bummed to write this review but unfortunately the poor quality of food and the high prices have driven me to do so. My co-workers and I all used to frequent crossroads, for the past two years, as we work down the street. I am the only one left who still goes here for food. Sadly I won't be anymore. The portion sizes have gotten smaller and smaller and the prices have gotten steeper. A chicken Caesar salad is around $12 and is almost the size of a side salad at any other restaurant. They now only put a pinch of chicken (from a can) and some cheese and croutons on top of a small pile of lettuce & throw the dressing on the side. I'm always still hungry when I'm finished and less than impressed. This salad probably costs them $1.50 to make, if that. It's sad because we all used to love crossroads but we all agree that they are overpriced and under delivered. It didn't used to be this way. I guess they've become greedy. The coffee tastes good at least. But I won't be ordering food from them any longer either. read more

I have been wavering between one and two stars.... settled on two but may change my mind by the end of this review. I have been here a few times as I work in the vicinity. The few times before today were "eh" at best. Today I met my partner here for lunch. We had a limited amount of time (as lunch breaks go). The line was short (one couple ahead of us). Upon ordering we each ordered a Happy Rock Veggie Sandwich with chips. A touch expensive, I think, but the kicker was the wait: twenty eight minutes later our veggie sandwiches arrived. Twenty eight minutes for a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, avocado, cucumber and cream cheese. Twenty eight minutes for a sandwich and a pile of chips. Was it good? Sure. It was fine. The coffee is HORRIBLE! It's is old and stale tasting and believe me I've tried this place twice now because a friend of mine wanted to go here, but it's awful stuff! Atmosphere was good, people friendly, BUT... they have no idea what the ingredients are in any of the baked goods. If you have any kind of food allergies or picky kids,just stick with the coffee. They had no idea if there were nuts in any of the baked items. They said we get them from a supplier. Any supplier worth paying will give you an ingredient list. I absolutely love this place. By far one of my favorite coffee shops for a few reasons; 1. location: it's so close to home it's walking distance. 2. Coffee and food: the drinks and good are all very unique, and they have a drive-thru window. Though they are a little slower than most coffee places, it's worth it. The coffee doesn't taste nearly as gritty as some others and is really great. 3. Atmosphere: I stayed there the other day and sat in a big comfortable chair and read for about 2 hours. It is a obnoxious wait time and it leaves me in an almost road rage sense because this inconvenience turned into I'm so late oh my god I am so late to my meetings. Guess this just wasn't my "cup of tea" (pun intended). As soon as I walked in, Jesus was in my face, everywhere. The religious music was blasting, as if they were trying to put the fear of god in me. Okay, I thought maybe I'll try it out... I am a student. I study a lot.. and I just couldn't. I felt like the music got louder, the Jesus statues were staring at me. And I couldn't focus. The food was awful, I usually am a huge foodie and not picky at all. I got their breakfast burrito and I couldn't finish it. The egg was just mashed hard boiled egg, the tomato sauce tasted like canned tomatoes and it was just real greasy. You only get wifi for 3 hours, then you have to buy something else.
