I've only been here twice and both times it was unsatisfactory. The second time was not just unsatisfactory but actually very bad. The first time, I submitted my order on the kiosk. While I was waiting for my food, one of the cooks (Latino gentleman I think, didn't get his name) called me over from across the room and asked me if I wanted greens in my bowl. I couldn't understand if he meant in addition to the quinoa that I ordered or instead of the quinoa so I just said ok. I was surprised later to find that my bowl did not have the quinoa that I ordered. Why would he ask if I want greens instead of just reading my order? I called to report the issue and dismissed it as a miscommunication. The second time, I submitted my order online. It was about a $45 order (two bowls). While waiting for my food, I asked one of the girls (Latino girl, kind of big with curly hair I think) if my order was ready. She said no and asked me if I wanted chicken in my bowl. I said that all of the information was already in the order that I submitted online and paid for. By the time I got home, I noticed the protein in one of the bowls was missing: teriyaki seitan. I went all the way back to the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager. She seemed to already know that the food was missing and asked, "chicken"? And she said that I could not speak to the manager. She offered me a free dessert but I declined. Again, I asked her to read my order instead of confirming with me what I wanted in my order. She said ok and handed me a container of food. On my way to the car, I checked the container and it was buffalo chicken, not seitan. I told her that it was seitan missing, not chicken, and she apologized. She handed me the seitan and I went home. When I got home to eat my bowl, I noticed not only was the seitan missing but the chicken was missing. So both bowls were missing protein. Fortunately, I still had the chicken she incorrectly handed me the first time. To recap, I paid $45 for two bowls. Both were missing the proteins (the most expensive and substantial part of the meal). I went back and she failed to fix my order and refused to put me in contact with the manager. Overall, there seems to be a major communication gap and maybe an English comprehension gap in the staff where they are unable to understand what's being ordered, causing major inconvenience and incorrectly making what is priced as a premium meal. read more

I've been going to Pure Cold Press in Brookline since I was in high school! My usual order consists of their açaí bowl and either a green juice OR their pesto grilled cheese. This was always my staple lunch whenever I wanted something quick and healthy-like + did not want to go to sweetgreens. Overall, I enjoy ordering from here and have never had any bad experiences, though I do not come here as often nowadays. Staff is always nice and they make everything super quick. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here today and love the bright decor of the restaurant. The staff here are also very friendly. I got the golden latte and it was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. For my meal I got the seitan shawarma sandwich and I love how well they season the seitan. It also has a great texture and isn't too chewy. The food and drinks were mediocre to ok. The interior was simplistic. Service was good. Price felt very unjustified given the quality.

Ordered ahead for pickup at 7:45 and it was ready on time which is always nice. The employee was friendly. However, paid for extra dressing on the side and only got one dressing. Paid an extra $1 for peanut butter and got just a drizzle. So, not a fan of the extra charges being such small portions. It's incredibly fresh and delicious, and a sizeable portion. The atmosphere in here feels clean, spacious, and creative, and the servers are friendly and fast. Delicious smoothies too! A mite bit expensive, but worth it. The only bummer is that they're closed for the Sabbath, so I can't get my salad fix then. The guy who owns or is the main server in this shop in Brookline is incredibly rude and disrespectful. When asked about the serving measure in his 12-14 protein shake, he acted bothered with my question. He showed me he uses a small spoonful to put protein in his shakes, and it's not even the basic regulated amount that protein shake products come with . My issue was if I was going to have enough protein to be able to work out next so he could've charged me twice for two protein spoons but we couldn't even get there. Ice... there were chunks of ice in the smoothie bowl. The smoothie bowl base was a sloppy liquid with chunks of ice. This did not make for a pleasant eating experience and we opted to leave short of finishing. It simply wasn't edible. The fruit was ok but bland, you could tell much of it was cheaper fruit or previously frozen. The real problem here was the lack of care. It was empty and I see why. At the prices charged there should be an overflow of premium ingredients. There wasn't, and quite the opposite actually. Bland food with sub par ingredients made without care to the final product. Wasn't a big fan of the chorizo seitan, and the combination of corn, black beans, cherry tomatoes, avocado, tortilla strips, romaine and cilantro lime dressing is nothing special to rave too much about. I did find the dressing to be a bit lacking, probably would have liked for there to be dressing to add some extra flavor. I probably ordered the wrong thing from here. The ingredients where the following: Acai, banana, blueberries and filtered water. Topped with house granola, coconut flakes, chia seeds and banana. My Acai was a bit different then described but that's okay. The actual body of the bowl was not so tasty, it was flavorless. The consistency was mushy and chunky. I had tried to make an allegory of the show to his mother's death but with his single watch of the show he hadn't picked up on it. Delicious vegan food is now available in Brookline! The servers were very knowledgeable of which items were vegan and gluten free. I gulped the warm golden latte with turmeric, coconut milk and almond milk. I devoured the vegan shawarma sandwich which was made with seitan, fresh vegetables, pita bread and flavorful sauces. The ambiance and decor were very bright, clean and colorful. I had a wonderful time with my husband and friends. This is definitely a place where you can eat a wide variety of vegan foods, drinks and treats and spend several hours chatting with friends or working. I would even recommend this place for brunch. Delicious!! The space is airy, clean and very pleasant. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the kale Caesar salad. I added the chickpeas to it and it was amazing! You can taste the freshness of the ingredients. I like that this restaurant is kosher and they clearly care about their ingredients. My mom got the caprese sandwich and it looked delicious. It was grilled like in a panini maker, which wasn't indicated on the menu, but it was tasty.
