I am writing to share my disappointment with the service my coworker and I received at Fiore's Bakery in Jamaica Plain on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, around 2:30 p.m. My coworker and I, who are Black and Hispanic, had stopped by the bakery the day before and enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies so much that we decided to come back the following day after work to buy them again. We returned hoping we would have the same positive experience as the day before. When we approached the register, two employees were standing together talking. We stood directly in front of the register for about five minutes, waiting to place our order. During that time, neither employee greeted us, acknowledged our presence, or said something as simple as, "We'll be right with you." The older employee remained leaned over the counter, continuing her conversation while casually writing on the countertop instead of acknowledging us or taking our order. The younger employee looked in our direction several times, and it appeared she wanted to help us, but the conversation continued. After waiting several minutes without any acknowledgment, we decided to leave. As we were walking out, a white customer entered the bakery and was enthusiastically welcomed by the older employee with a cheerful, "Hello, welcome." That contrast was upsetting and made us feel overlooked and unwelcome. While I cannot know the employees' intentions, the difference in how we were treated left us questioning whether race played a role in our experience. It was especially disappointing because we had enjoyed our visit the day before and returned expecting the same welcoming atmosphere. No customer should feel invisible when entering a business. A simple greeting or acknowledgment would have made all the difference. I hope you will take this complaint seriously, review what occurred, and remind your staff of the importance of treating every customer with the same level of courtesy, respect, and professionalism. read more

I'm trying to establish a new Monday morning routine of going for a morning walk and grabbing a coffee/pastry before starting work. To my dismay, the two cafes/coffee shops I tried before Fiore's were closed on Mondays. Thankfully, Fiore's' doors were open. I was greeted by a friendly barista who recommended the raspberry pastry. The pastry, while not super fresh, ended up being delicious. I grabbed a latte with caramel and it was also delicious (it can be hard to get a latte without the flavor being too diluted with milk -- the flavor was super strong here!). Seating area was super cute and quiet -- great for reading or doing some work. You can tell it's a community space, there were many ads for local activities and pop-ups. They also sell really beautiful plants in their windows! I had a really nice trip and I will definitely be back. New Monday morning routine established! read more

I went here with my aunt and daughters for a quick breakfast before heading out of town. I got a breakfast sandwich with gluten free bread, and it was honestly the very best GF bread I've ever had. I got it with home fries that were seasoned perfectly, and a great cup of coffee. The workers were quick and helpful, and this was a nice place to hang before a long trip home! read more

Really enjoy this neighborhood bakery/cafe. I've only had pleasant service interactions here, and I appreciate their indoor seating and outdoor patio. As a vegetarian, it's nice to have multiple sandwich options with some protein (as opposed to the typical single veggie sandwich on a menu which is like lettuce tomato and another vegetable). On my last trip, I got the vegan breakfast sandwich with seitan, with the potatoes and greens and coffee. It was a great portion and well seasoned, the seitan was a little oily but I'm not sure if that's just how it's made? Someone else got the huevos which they also enjoyed. Their iced coffee wasn't my favorite, it felt a little bitter and watered down at the same time, but overall I'm always glad to come here. read more

I'm not a huge pastry person, nor a coffee person, but I come to Fiore for their vegetarian and vegan sandwiches. I've tried a few, and I always go back to the Vegan Bahn Mi with Seitan. The bread is buttery and the fillings go really well together; the seitan is some of the best I've had, though admittedly I never seek it out nor really order it with frequency. It comes with a salad and home fries, which makes it even more of a deal in my book. The staff are always kind and willing to entertain questions I have about the pastries, especially related to allergies, which is always deeply appreciated. The interior isn't anything to shout from the rooftops, but I do love the houseplants and natural lighting. If you're in the area and looking for something to grab, definitely check it out! read more

This is the kind of place I normally would love with 5 stars, given the promoted availability of vegetarian and vegan options, but it was a solid disappointment. Definitely 2 stars, "could have been [far] better," which for me is a rare rating - will only be back if everywhere else is closed. The counter person taking orders really might be in the wrong line of work. Attitude, attitude, attitude! I made the mistake of failing to order coffee by ounce size and got the grandest eyeroll ever as the sample sizes with ounce markings, all on a shelf above eye level, were unctuously pointed out to me. Give me a break, I haven't had my morning coffee yet! (For some reason, they only had almond or oat milk available for steaming, although they do have dairy for adding to coffees. Dear me, I wasn't about to ask about that.) While we ate breakfast, we watched (and couldn't avoid listening) in disbelief as the counter person chatted away loudly with a customer about local sports teams, and another customer, unable to break in and order, walked out. I had the French Omelette (I guess to distinguish it from, say, a Spanish Omelet) but naturally I was expecting something more like a French omelette. Instead, it was eggs, scrambled hard, and thickly folded once, but with a barely perceivable dusting of cheese inside. Worse, it was served at the table in a take-out container (I assume they didn't have staff to wash dishes as I didn't order take-out - but at least it was a biodegradable container). It was kind of a shock to open the container and find only a flimsy plastic fork, no knife, a very small portion of home fries (7 pieces?), and a small portion of lettuce leaves dressed with a squirt of what I think was a balsamic vinaigrette. Okay, it's only $10 - but still. The croissants, too, were perfunctory, lacking the lightness and flavor that's not difficult to find in other places. The space itself is very pleasant, with a sunny exposure provided by the large windows on the street. But it's a tad worn down and tired. As you can see from my photo, one of the chairs was damaged and unusable, but instead of removing it from the dining area, they placed a tray on it so no one would sit on it. I don't know how you could complain about the price in Boston today. The breakfast sandwich includes a small salad, nice potatoes, and a drink (coffee or tea)! I'd be paying twice as much elsewhere, and honestly it's great quality for money. Seems like a nice mom n' pop place (with notably limited hours--just 6 from 9am to 3pm). Friendly service, good basic food, decent coffee, reasonable prices. LGBTQ+ friendly. Small, but cosy venue. A lot to like. But where this place falls down is on cleanliness and hygiene. The place needs a deep clean (if feels a little like it's run by students who aren't fussed about by higher standards) and the staff don't seem to follow food hygiene rules (no hairnets in sight and one kitchen employee was wearing a tank top -- no issue if you like exposed armpits over your food). I don't remember the last time I came here but it had to be over a decade ago but on this sunny day, I came here and ordered the most delicious croissant and eggs sandwich with ham. It was so fresh and good accompanied with homefries and a side salad. I was so impressed. My husband got the burrito egg sandwich and that looks phenomenal. The owner was so wonderful he gave us this chocolate cake that was delish. Went well with my cappuccino. Wasn't even aware they had a patio out back which is great the indoor seating with cozy but it was such a gorgeous day so we went out back. This bakery does a good job and they take a lot of orders too also we have a lot of cupcakes and other baked goods on display. Totally looking forward to coming here again. read more

Fiore"s is one of those places that will touch your heart everytine you go there. Now I remember when it was a Asian antique shop before the current owner did a major build out with a full working kitchen. He still bakes all the wonderful pastries he offers- I particularly really enjoy the blueberry cheese danish. Every Saturday, I always stopped in the buy a collection of pasties for visits to my grandmother who passed away. She grew up also in Jamaica plain and how delighted she was when I brought Fiore's pastries. Excellent staff- always engaging and makes you feel your the only person in line when they speak to you. read more

I love this place. My go-to is the Huevos Rancheros because all of it! Garlicky black beans and scrumptious corn bread and spicy fresh salsa plus the always crisp and fresh greens and the scrambled eggs with cheese -- hold on, I'll finish this review after I go order another plate of these. Also the baked goods are fabulous, scones fresh and fruity and the cupcakes melt in sweet happiness in your mouth. I just noticed a case of pastelitos that look pretty tempting. This place is a good neighborhood staple. I love that they feature so many vegan and vegetarian options. Not a vegetarian myself, I love their bagel breakfast sandwich. Their eggs are so good! And the dressing that comes on the little side salad is so good I would buy a bottle if offered. Their front staff is really friendly and remembers their regulars. I found this bakery when looking for vegan sweets for a friend. I didn't realize JP had a bakery like this! Conveniently located on South St, near the community center, library, and plenty of other shops. I've come here twice for vegan baked goods and I've enjoyed what I've tried. This carrot cupcake was flavorful and moist, though I was sad to discover that the frosting was not some sort of vegan cream cheese frosting (arguably the best part of carrot cake). It was good otherwise! They only take cash or venmo, so be prepared for that. I also haven't had particularly pleasant experiences with the staff the two times I've come in. Great little bakery/sandwich shop in JP. I stopped by for lunch before walking to the arboretum with some friends. The inside is pretty small, and it was busy when I went. All their sandwiches are made with their own freshly baked bread. They have vegan options. They also sell desserts/pastries and drinks. The lemonade is good but a little too sweet for my taste. I got the Christopher Robin, which contains pear and honey walnut spread as well as ham, swiss, mayo, and spinach. I've seen apple slices in sandwiches before but pear is rare. I'm allergic to apples but not pears so I was really excited. The honey walnut spread was not the focal point of the sandwich, but the walnuts did add some texture. (Not whole walnuts, they're ground up in the spread). Overall I'd highly recommend this place! read more

This is my absolute favorite bakery, lunch spot, or breakfast spot in Boston! I come here about 1-3x a week. The vegan chocolate chip cookies are incredible, life-changing, and you can't come to JP without trying one. Both GF and regular are bomb -- not much difference. Skip the non-vegan one (nothing to write home about), and the PB one is worth trying but it is a little dryer. Their sandwiches and breakfasts are generous, tasty, and creative. Only like $12 or something for a big sandwich, amazing herbed/seasoned fried potatoes, and side salad. Everyone who works there is really nice and it just has a very homey and comforting atmosphere, very family-business-y. I legit cried when I thought they were gonna close from Covid, so I am SO grateful they made it through and adapted! My boyfriend and I got the Super American which is essentially eggs, melted cheddar, turkey, bacon, spinach and avo on bread. I highly recommend swapping out the bread for a bagel or something as the toast gets a little soggy and easily falls apart if you take your time eating it. Lucky for me, I had ordered an everything bagel on the side because I didn't realize that the Super American came in sandwich form to begin with. On the everything bagel, everything tasted literally amazing. Highly recommend! We also got a mango orange smoothie - they don't have fresh orange, only have the fresh fruits listed. But my boyfriend and I love the mango orange combo from when we discovered it in Asia because it is super refreshing and delicious. Fiore's was able to use orange juice and fresh mango to create the smoothie we wanted for us. I will say it was super acidic, but maybe sticking to their smoothie offerings is the better choice next time! It was a good try though. Lastly, I visited on a Sunday shortly after 11AM. I will say that if you are in a rush and not purchasing anything that is already made (e.g. pastries), this is probably not the place. But if you have time to wait and sit down to enjoy the meal or take it to go, yes definitely try Fiore's! We spent about a total of 45 minutes here from ordering to finishing our food (and we don't eat particularly slow - starving at this point too). Very nice place! I came in for a latte today and it was very good. It really packed a punch, too! Nice and strong. I did not try any of the bakery items, but they looked good. They have vegan cakes, gluten-free items, and "regular" ones as well. Also plenty of sandwiches and other food. The vibe is very J.P., which I love. Very friendly, laid back, and welcoming. I love the coffee value at Fiore's! One of the few places around here that offers an actual large iced coffee for a solid price. However, the food prices are unreal. I checked the website before walking 25 minutes to Fiore's. I saw a bacon egg and cheese for $7.75 and thought that was a bit expensive but unfortunately realistic for Boston. Went in, looked at the menu, and was shocked to see the item I planned on buying listed for $10. That was the cheapest bagel sandwich. All other bagel sandwiches ranged from $12-$15. This was disappointing and I politely mentioned the price discrepancy to the employee at the counter. He said he didn't know what I meant, then checked the website himself and claimed that those prices were from 4+ years ago. Not only is the incorrect pricing on the website a poor business practice, but the price of a bacon egg and cheese just seems unreasonable to me. I completely understand that food prices are up, but I can't spend that much money on a basic food item. I hope to be able to try their food at some point, but I really don't understand who the clientele is supposed to be here with prices this inflated. read more

Highly disappointed with Fiores Bakery. The customer service was not to highest level of satisfactory. My partner and I order from this bakery because of their delicious desserts. However, this particular time was very disappointing. My partner ordered a cake that is usually displayed in the front for slices. We asked for a whole cake thinking it was what we had before. We made it clear what we ate perviously and they even know we are regulars. Well that is definitely changing. We asked if they make the correct cake and they informed us they cannot however they can give us a percentage off. I'm not quick sure if people understand what it's like to eat something you do not want or to forced to keep an item you do not want. Listen they lost two of the best customers and many of our friends. It also comes with a free small tea/coffee and a small side of charred potato wedges and salad. I also got a blueberry scone. Everything was just fantastic. The breakfast sandwich was nothing short of amazing. The menu was very extensive with plenty of vegan and gluten free options. I felt like the price was definitely worth it considering the quality of the food. The service was friendly and the food came out in a good amount of time. This place is hipster for sure but in all the best ways. Considering it's small size it also had a good amount of seating, as well as a *clean* restroom. Fiore's is a bakery in Jamaica Plain located a short walk from JP Licks. It is a casual sort of place with counter service, the type where where you'd expect to bust your own table. Though small, they have space for eating in set with a number of tables and chairs shrown about and a few more seats set by the ledge by the window. They also have a tidy little patio space out in the back, and if you let them know, they will bring you your sandwich out there once it is ready, as a courtesy, instead of their norm of just calling out your name inside. Prices on the boards in the bakery differed a smidge from those listed in their take out menu. I have no idea if there really is a price differential for eating in vs. taking it to go, or if the printed menu is just out of date, but the Jamaica Pond $8.75 (eggplant or chicken, red pepper, caramelized onion, provolone, pesto, tomato spread) was really good! The crusty bread it came on was a little overly hard, but the flavors were great and I even enjoyed the greens and potatoes that accompanied it. The Christopher Robin $8.75 (ham, pear, spinach, swiss, mayo, honey walnut spread) that I also shared was a bit lackluster in comparison. Two sandwiches between the three of us was just perfect, but left me no room for dessert. Friends, however, enjoyed the tiramisu. For those with certain allergies, they have 6 types of milk available, 3 of which come from cows, the rest being soy, almond, and coconut. And a variety of vegan sandwiches filled one chalkboard and spilled onto the next. read more
