This is Pure Hockey's newest location in Massachusetts and it very well could be their biggest. The store is absolutely huge! Nearly half the size of a CostCo and completely dedicated to all things ice-hockey (and lacrosse). There's entire sections of very well stocked items from skates and sticks to helmets, gloves, and various other things. There's even stuff for coaches and referees and random other things like NHL-related apparal and memorabilia. I originally headed there after calling them to inquire about a specific item: I needed a large, senior-sized cup and supporter. No other locations had it, and I couldn't order it online as I needed it for something in a few days. After calling about 5 stores I called them. They had it in stock but originally refused to put it aside for me to pickup. Since there was a real shortage, I needed it to be guaranteed to be there for me to have and after insisting on the phone, they eventually did it. It was a slightly painful process as they took down my name, phone number, address and honestly it was not the best customer service experience I've had. Thus the 4 star rating. With that said, I also got my skates sharpened there, and they did a fantastic shop and everyone there was very helpful. The cashier however struggled to ring me up so they do need to polish up on some of the training. All in all, not a great experience from their staff but their inventory makes up for it. Prices are fair for the most part, and the selection is unrivaled, especially in this location. I'd be hard-pressed to go anywhere else for my hockey needs or skate sharpenings. Plus Burlington is close to Waltham and there's plenty of parking there. Not bad at all. read more

Great shopping experience. Michaela helped us out to fit my two children, ages 4 and 5, on the 3D analysis machine. She was very patient and willing to check multiple sizes for their fitting needs. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. The store was well organized, clean and full of serious gear. It has the analysis machine, as mentioned, other assessment gadgets and a mini ice rink. This is a serious hockey store and I certainly am not a hockey expert. That is why that extra star was hard to give. We walked in with no sign of help. We walked by two or three employees without any recognition or hello. I walked around a bit and got the kids settled on a bench... Then stood there feeling weird and out of place. Once I walked up to Michaela, she was very helpful and we got just what we needed. Really think this is a 4.5 rating, but perfect 5 stars got to be perfect! read more

This is the second time i step into one of these stores. The first time i stepped into one of these stores was the one located in medford . Never will i step in there again. WORST CUSTOMER SERVES I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. I thought id give the Burlington location a try, since i needed to grab a few hockey. A gentleman named Nick came up to me and asked if i needed help. Since i had no clue what i was looking for i explained to him my situation. He showed me everything and explained everything GREAT ! WIsh i got this help the first time i stepped into Pure Hockey . The store has been renamed the BAUER HOCKEY EXPERIENCE. The team staff is exceptionally knowledgeable about all the products and provide professional service. Equipped with a built in rink, shooting lane, skate sharpening lab, 3D scanner for skate fittings, full Goalie section and the ability to actually try out the product make this store unique for the hockey enthusiast from the most novice of player to prep/ college/ professional player to men's league rink rats. Only 2 facilities in the country like this. A must visit! read more

Outstanding customer service! I brought my daughter in here to get fitted for skates. The female who helped us was completely amazing and knowledgable--from her initial greeting and fitting my daughter using the 3-D scanner, to helping her find the right skates she needs to help her succeed, all the while making genuinely kind conversation with our 9-year-old---she was amazing. Exceptional Customer service from Victor. I went in with my three boys and he was very knowledgable and went out of his way to help us find the right fitting skate for all three boys. Very compassionate individual and gives you his absolute attention. He brought out so many boxes between my three boys and never once did he seem agitated or bothered to do so.....like they do in some other stores. Idk if this man is manager or what not but he certainly deserves to be. He knows his stuff and is just all in all an absolute asset to that store. A+ from us! read more

The store is big and gear is merchandised very well with lots of room to move around. I am in there once a month or more during my kids hockey season here in Burlington. Great parking, Dunks next door. Almost perfect.... BUT the customer service is average (well... Just average). Generally, they hang out at the front desk and you have to go find them if you have questions. Examples: twice, when seeking gear for my son, I discovered they didn't stock the red Bauer version (he prefers Bauer and red because the local team where this store is located is the Burlington RED devils (which one of the "Managers" didn't know! really?!) BOTH visits I was told they couldn't order the red version because their company didn't stock it anywhere despite me showing them on my phone (each time!) that it was available online via a hat trick of web stores... I politely said I wanted to support them as my neighborhood store and not order online but they wouldn't try to help. Each time this happened I did speak to a man wearing a "manager" badge and they seemed unphased about letting me leave to order online. "Oh well" they said... That is not customer service I will return to the store... For tape and to have my boy try gear sizes before we order online. Thanks Pure Hockey. Warning, Parents beware!!! Do not get your kids skates sharpened here. They did my son's left skate Blade at an angle and likely ruined it.

My son went into this Pure Hockey on 5/18/14 to purchase a helmet, and when he did not see the helmet he wanted on the shelve, he asked a salesperson for assistance. The response he received was rude and sarcastic. "Well if you don't see it on the shelf then I guess we don't have it". Also this salesperson was not very helpful when my son asked him if the newer version of the helmets he wanted are coming in. I don't believe its Pure Hockey's policy to be rude and sarcastic to customers, so in the future I will make my purchases at a different Pure Hockey location. read more
