PureLogic has an onerous legal agreement that I think is risky for anyone with retirement assets or such. I switched my escrow to Chicago Title which doesn't have such onerous clauses in their legal agreement. Chicago Title was also more pleasant and super efficient. In particular, clause 5 required me to agree that to be liable for expenses incurred by the escrow company from litigation regardless of fault. This meant that if I sued them for an error they committed, I'd have to pay their legal fees and compensation for time spent on my suit. It also required me to "pay promptly". I asked them for a $100K limit to this to protect my retirement assets, but they refused. They were a bit arrogant assuming I would roll over and sign anyway. I think many people are like a deer in the headlights when confronted with the paper work to buy or sell a house. They have little time or skill to evaluate legal agreements. Pure Logic perhaps takes advantage of this to get people to sign their agreement which pushes litigation cost and risk to the buyer and seller. If you have few assets to protect, a discount escrow like this might be OK, but it wasn't OK for me. read more

It was a very negative experience with Carryl Johnson, mistakes made, unresponsive to questions, extremely rude and unprofessional and all documented.made a very high stress situation compounded. Would not recommend! The escrow company as a whole made a very HUGE mistake pertaining to disperssements with misinformation they would not honor which is why we chose them for our situation at the time the house was listed for sale. She even was rude when asking about her request for HOA in formation when we didn't even have an HOA and were confused by her messages . to date she refuses to provide her supervisor contact information and name to us and our realtor. Our realtor was very apologetic on behalf of this escrow company and carryl's behavior and lack of professionalism. read more

The buyers were super excited and could not believe we were done well before the full 30 days. In any market that is huge accomplishment because usually something delays but not with them acting as 3rd party neutral Escrow Officers. They were all over the many twists and turns. Adds and Removals. Changes and spotting reasons why closing funds got delayed to offer strong solutions that got the money into Title. It seemed like they were always working on the file. Nice change when most companies you can't get communication out of them after 4:59pm. Again I don't always provide reviews but this was a must. They are all True Professionals on Team Mark and knowledgeable about all aspects. If you are a Listing Agent looking to for smooth transactions this is your company. I am reviewing this as an agent representing a Buyer. We have closed escrow 2 weeks ago and my client the Buyer waited over a week and a half to receive her closing documents which, resulted in her HOA not adding her to the call box or mail system until she could officially prove ownership. She emailed requesting information and was not communicated with. In addition, they were responsible for paying off a credit card balance for my client, which was deducted on the Buyer Closing Statement, only to find out, it was NEVER PAID thus resulting in a late fee towards my client's account. Add insult to injury ---- I am still yet to receive my commission check after 2 weeks of the property closing escrow. My request have gone completely unfulfilled and only provided with run around excuses. They have no tracking information for the check they said was overnighted, and then switched the story to it was sent via snail mail last Tuesday. Seven days later and they are still asking me to wait for it. I'm truly appalled at this company. Unfortunately my and my clients experience with this company has been nothing short of difficult and while I understand things happen, Pure Logic FALLS SHORT on actually helping resolve anything that has come up in a timely or acceptable manner. My advice--- if you feel like chasing people down and enjoy your inquiries and emails go unanswered, they are great! But if you want an escrow company who has integrity that will actually come through on their responsibilities as a valid and reputable 3rd party mediator for both Buyer/Seller and the agents involved, our experience has been they are subpar, underwhelming, and unreliable. Hope to get paid someday and hope my client eventually sees their refund for the padding of the escrow fees. read more

I would not recommend working with Pure Logic Escrow. Honestly, their name should be illogical escrow because their policies make no sense (except I think they make interest on your money so make it time consuming to get your refund back on purpose). They have taken over three weeks to refund a deposit for a home we purchased and ended up cancelling (literally over 3 weeks ago). They have a so-called procedure whereby you need to send them a "wet ink" signature for your wire refund. This makes zero sense because: 1) you sent them a wire in the first place with a docusign (and this was us asking for our refund to be refunded to the same bank it came from) 2) they apparently lose their mail because it's been over a week and they still haven't received the signature we mailed them. We live in San Diego and the seller's agent was the one who had us use them. I would NEVER use an escrow company that is not local to you- these guys are in Ontario and Tustin which are extremely far away from our home in San Diego. read more

This company uses unscrupulous telemarketing tactics. They hired a telemarketer by the name of Spencer that has a robocaller system calls Realtors and the automated message says that he has a bad connection and he will call you back. Then 30 to 60 seconds later a live human from their office that sounds different from the person that just called, calls back and pitches their escrow services. They did this on two different occasions on the same day. They've also done this a few months back. That means in one day, I received a total of four phone call interruptions. I have reported their phone number and blocked it on my phone. This type of marketing shows that they likely do not run an ethical business and are desperate for business. While it seems they were having some staffing issues and the officer on my account left, I found a true gem in the bunch that was a life saver to me during the close. Linda Le was not even assigned to my account but listened to what I had to say regarding the challenges I was experiencing and went well above and beyond her role. When others could not be reached, Linda not only always answered, but took it upon herself to reach out to me to keep me up to date on what was happening/what was needed. I have a deal that's supposed to close today and.... - found out 7 days ago they don't do 9a - escrow agent told my buyer that it's my job and I should have ordered at the beginning (9a reports have always been done by my escrow companies) - found out today buyers escrow package hasn't been returned yet (which they had sent 2 weeks late in the first place) - escrow agent couldn't find loan docs that were sent to her apparently 1.5 weeks ago - she asked me today if I had a retrofit invoice which I saw was sent to her on 11/8 - and last but not least--- my seller spoke to her this morning and asked if we were closing today and she said "Today is the closing date?" ......
