The appeal of booking at Pure Nails is that they are open until MIDNIGHT. Absolutely unheard of and great for those who are unable to make it during regular business hours, or insomniacs. I filled out the appointment request through their website on a Wednesday. The website says to allow for 3 days for a response. I hadn't heard back by Sunday, so I called multiple times; 11PM, 8AM, and 9AM. Finally at 9AM I was able to book an appointment for the following day, Monday, at 6PM, although I wanted to book later. I showed my nail tech my inspo picture and she was able to recreate it perfectly! She gave her feedback around the colors I should use. I didn't know/it wasn't discussed there was an extra charge for using multiple colors ($15). My new gel set was $48 + $25 for design + $15 for color (1-2 colors)= $88. Such a deal compared to prices in Arizona ($100+). A different nail tech completed my pedicure separately. The seat wasn't particularly comfortable or glamorous- it was a pillow atop a hard bench, and the sink was actually a kitchen-looking sink. Nonetheless, my chrome pedicure came out great. Deluxe pedi $67 + $10 chrome + $20 Gel polish = $97. This felt more expensive than Arizona ($70-80). I wore my mani for a month, and the pedi for about 5 weeks; neither chipped. I was shocked that when I had my manicure removed, my nails were strong and healthy underneath! Typically they're as brittle as paper after having gel/removed. They had a leaking ceiling and no power. I called Pure Nails & Beauty... they could take me now! Yay! Located inside of Don Quijote (near the entrance, on the right - just past security), there's free, shared parking in the lot out front and more across the street. I was asked to pick a color and have a seat. The water was drawn up in the stainless steel basin already. I held onto the handrail and stepped up, sat down, and soaked my feet... ahhh! The entire process was smooth and efficient! The older woman was pleasant and gentle. You can call, stop in, or request an appointment on their website and they usually confirm within a couple days. They are open until midnight which is bonkers, but must be good for those who work atypical schedules or those with insomnia. But it's just so convenient. The space is small so you'll want to show up right at your appointment time or walk around Don Q, which is a perk in itself. When midnight strikes... You'll have shiny beautiful nails :) I was on a serious time constraint when a fellow co worker of mine says go to the place in Don Quijote! What happened is I went to a new place where language was a serious problem as everything went wrong including my nails where it started to chip and with a week filled with work and appointments I didn't have time to get it fixed and didn't want to go back to the same place and decided to see if I could get it changed here. There were busy as I always see as this shop is quite tiny but did manage to get an appointment in just a couple of hours and was so delighted to get it done was a huge relief though the unimaginable happened it started to peel in just three days so I went back to ask if it's possible to fix which they immediately did though the actual staff wasn't there that day so it was another that did and really went above and beyond to not just fix but applied the gel in a way that made my nail looked straight as she says she noticed a slight curve to it and really took the time to get it right along with the shaping. The vibe here is nice even though it was quite small they have tv showing Food Network and loved that they provide basket for your items along with a phone stand for your phone as well the service here is so nice and polite I will be back. I recently had the chance to try out Pure Nail Salon inside Don Quijote, and let me tell you, I'm probably switching salons - please don't tell my usual salon! The biggest selling point for switching is their hours--they're open until midnight! It's perfect for those of us who can't always make it because we work 9-5 and now I don't have to sacrifice a Saturday to get my nails done. Just a heads up, though: they can get pretty busy, so making an appointment is definitely the way to go. I called around 7:00 PM and the earliest they could fit me in was 8:30 PM. Jestiny was my manicurist, and by the way, her cat nails were so cute! She helped me find a gel polish that was natural but still gave my long nails a polished look without being too opaque. I usually skip nail extensions since my nails are naturally strong and long on their own, so I appreciated how she made my nails look so clean and chic. If you're looking for a late-night nail spot with great service and a talented team, Pure Nail Salon is definitely worth checking out! It's unfortunate to write this but when you're scheduled for a gel removal and you're told on the phone that it's only going to take 30 minutes, you're going to plan the rest of your night based on that. Tell me why this service almost took 90 minutes....the technician I had wasn't trained to use the drill so she was constantly trying to file the gel nails away, but each attempt felt futile when my fingers had to continue soaking in the acetone at least 2 more times. The customer next to me finished her whole set of gel nails before I finished removing mines. After the 70 minute mark, one of the senior techs noticed it was taking longer than normal so she jumped in and helped to do my other hand. I honestly was so irritated by this whole experience and the fact that they still charged me for the full price of $30 to remove my gel nails when it took 3x as long to get them off.... Baffled. I used to come here regularly but come every so often since my girl moved. Unfortunately, every time I come since she's moved the service has been just okay... today I came in to get a removal for a set I had got in Japan. I figured here would be the best bet, since I know they use (or used to use) Japanese products and that I would get minimal damage from the removal. I didn't realize they had used hard gel to top coat me in Japan, so they had to file most of it down to soak off the rest. During the filing they had over filed my right hand to the point that I noticed I had a dent and some sensitivity in one of my nails. I pointed it out to her, and she tried to file more off to which I had politely said no. No e filed was used so this was all done from hand filing. I had asked her to shape my nails and even out the lengths after the removal but noticed they were different lengths and the shape was different on both hands. We've always passed by on the way into Don Quijote. Always wondered what went on in there lol. Small little shop. There are three tvs on the walls so you can watch TV while you get a manicure or pedi at any angle. They have a lot of advertisements on the wall and information about what they do, like men manicures which is great. They also have samples of what nails they can do all over. I did the standard pedicure, which included a foot soak, a short massage, cuticle cleaning and one color to paint your nails. I chose a sparkly bluish green color. The very lovely lady that did my pedi even cut my nails lol. She was very gentle with handling my feet. It was a nice and short massage on my feet and calves. When she scrubbed my heels, she used not a hard pumice tool so it didn't hurt, only tickled. It was a wonderful experience! Even the nail polish lasted for a very long time; I still have it now! They had a opening within an hour of the time I wanted to come with my sister. My nail technician, Sarah, was helpful in picking out my colors. I wanted it similar to the sample, but a shade of pink lighter than what was shown. She brought out several colors for me to pick from and tested them before continuing painting. It took about 3 hours for her to do my nails, but she was very careful and precise in applying the stones. Of course I had to get my pedicure after with my favorite feet massage! I've been to this salon a lot and the nail techs know much nails are thin and flat. I expect an apex to be formed so my nails don't bend and cause breaks on the sides. The gel application on my pointer fingernail is wonky and the red color is not correctly matched to the others. I've walked past this nail place many many times, but never thought of actually going there to get a pedicure, until I discovered that a good friend of mine has been getting her nails done here for close to a decade (or longer!). My goodness. Let me throw my nail artist's name out there, SAORI. Girl. The attention to DETAIL. I am a noob as they would say, in this nail design industry. I watch TikTok videos and think, wow, that nail design looks easy and fast. NO! With quality work, it takes time. And with Japanese Gel, this is truly an art form that takes a patient artist to make your vision come true and the material is a very interesting moldable consistency for nail polish. Word of warning, Japanese Gel is THICCC. Yes, three C's. It likes to layer and create weight so that your design can last through the abuse you may put your nails through. I was an ignorant and told Saori I wanted thin lines and a light weighted design. She said, are you sure & I was like, yes please. When I saw the gel being placed on a stone and blended out before it's molded and painted on my fingernails I actually realized what an arduous task I just requested. Wonderful, sweet Saori said not a single complaint and was all focused on making sure the design looked exactly like the example I've shown her. We changed colors like 5 times since it didn't appear right on my nail or the color wasn't bold enough. It took 2 1/2 hours and she made it happen. With me deciding not to have any type of gel polish done, I was given a separate book dedicated to regular polish. Nothing caught my eye so I just went with a basic manicure. Asami was my nail technician and was amazing from start to finish. I appreciated her friendly vibes and loved the fact that she didn't rush the job [which happens so often in this type of industry]. Asami is meticulous in her work - buffing, filing, trimming each and every little thing. My regular mani came out BOMB so I can't imagine how her Japanese-Style Gel Art looks. Service here can't be beat and my only complaint is how far this business is from my home!! Wishing California & Honolulu was a lot closer than the 2400 miles. Have you seen those reviews that show "what I asked for" vs "what I got", well for my first visit at Pure Nails & Beauty... well pretty much ever, the end result of my gel manicure is exactly what I wanted. Having experienced good and awesomely sweet nail technicians in the past, I wanted to venture out and experience nail salons that have a wider variety of Japanese gels and nail techs that don't use electronic tools for filing (nothing wrong with the use of such especially those with vast experience, but this is more of a preference). Nicole at Pure Nails & Beauty did not disappoint. In fact this was my first visit to any nail salon that I got exactly what I requested for. With COVID procedures in effect, booking an appointment can be done via phone or Line (must be made minimum 3-days in advance). Mask up - it's not political it's for the safety of your and those around you, health and welfare. They ask that you come alone for your appointment, so no friends or kiddos may tag along. When you first arrive, they ask that you wait patiently at their door where your temperature is taken and you sanitize you're hands. TIP: Have a good hand wash before you go (wash up to your elbows) so you can feel nice, refreshed and you'll know you've got clean hands. One of their lovely staff members will assist your to your nail technician and from their you're set! Enjoy the comfortable chair and relax while treating yourself. Nicole was so cool Easy to talk story with and I've dubbed her as the Queen of spot on gel color - she was able to look at the picture of a nail design that I wanted and wham bam, she nailed (no pun intended) the color! For me, it's not just about color and design but it's nail shape. You can't have a good manicure with nails that are shaped funky. It just kinda ruins the whole manicure not to mention when it grows out, it'll be... meh . From my description, Nicole knew just what and wanted and explained her cleaning and shaping procedure before we started. She explained that Pure Nails & Beauty does not use electronic tools to shape or clean nails, but does everything using manual tools. This allows the nail technician to have full control of the removal process as well as cleaning so that no additional part of the nail bed is removed that shouldn't be. Nicole was absolutely wonderful. So graceful, careful and kind, she shaped my oddly grown out nails to a smooth not-too-short round shape and just was spot on for the design. I was so excited that I kept looking and admiring my hands LOL! She must have been like, "girl, I need yo hands back bruh" lol My whole experience was just great. The staff was so nice and welcoming that it felt liked I had been coming to them in like forever. Another great experience at Pure Nails! This time Namani helped me. She is fabulous. She takes her time shaping each nail and cleaning down the edges. I appreciate that she does not rush though this step. I feel like this is one of the most important steps in getting a manicure. She also was able to shape my short nails into an "almond shape" as I asked. Many technicians would simply say "no, it's too short to do that." Namani was friendly the whole time. I appreciated her honesty and professionalism when I asked for advice on color and design. I mentioned that my pedicure was not what I had in mind but I liked It anyways. She assured me that if it wasn't what I had in mind that I could come back in 3 days (their policy) to get it fixed for free. I am not a complainer, nor do I like to be a hassle during the most busy time of the year (Christmas eve eve) but she made me feel valued and for that, I thank her!! I will definitely be back! Went here for the first time today as I'm trying to take better care of my nails. It's Christmas season, so I had a festive design in mind. I walked in and was surprised, the salon area is quite smaller than I imagined, but it was late morning so fairly empty. My nail tech was Nanami, and she nailed my design. I had a picture ready and she just totally exceeded my expectations. I saw someone else post about how detail oriented she is, and that's so true! My snowflakes are perfection and even DIFFERENT ON EACH HAND. Nanami also asked how I liked the design every step of the way before moving on and if she was hurting me etc. Such great service; I think I found my new nail tech! I'm getting my pedicure done as I start this review and I'm really happy with how my manicure came out! I made an appointment for a Japanese gel manicure and regular pedicure through yelp a few weeks before my requested date and time and was messaged back with a confirmation. I also received a text reminder the day before my appointment, which I appreciated. I used to always get my nails done like every other month, but cut it down to special occasions only. I also usually go to a different nail place in kahala, but wanted a certain design this time, so I chose to come to Pure Nails. Nanami was my nail tech and she was sooo good! Very detailed oriented and she always checked in on how I liked the design and if I was ok in general. After the manicure, it seemed like she was going to check me out, so I told her I had also scheduled a pedicure. I guess the person who booked my appointment missed the pedicure part, but Nanami said she could get me in for the pedi too...which I was grateful for (my feet were looking really bad)!!
