A Much-Improved Experience at Pure Nails in Fair Lawn! I stopped by Pure Nails in Fair Lawn (on River Road) yesterday for a spontaneous pedicure after getting off work early -- and I'm so glad I did! It was the end of the day, and I believe I was the last client, but the staff still welcomed me warmly. I asked if they had any availability for a pedicure, and without hesitation, the front desk lady brought me over to a chair and began setting things up. Shortly after, Elmira, the nail tech who took care of me, finished the service -- and she was wonderful! Most of the supplies used were disposable, everything came from fresh packaging, and the tools were sealed in sanitized pouches -- a huge plus for me! I had been a client here about six years ago, but I stopped going because back then, the cleanliness wasn't up to my standards. Tools looked reused, and the overall experience didn't feel as sanitary. So this visit was a really pleasant surprise. Elmira didn't rush, even though we finished around 10 minutes past closing time. She took her time cleaning up my nails, massaging, and polishing them -- and I could tell she really cared about doing a good job. That kind of professionalism and attention to detail is rare, especially at the end of a long day. The salon itself is clean -- a little bit outdated in decor, but comfortable. Soft music played in the background at the perfect volume, making the whole experience even more relaxing. Gel pedicure was only $40! For the service I received and the cleanliness of the environment, that's an incredible value. If you haven't been to Pure Nails in a while, or stopped going like I once did, I highly recommend giving them another try. You might be pleasantly surprised like I was! read more

I had a very good regular manicure pedicure today, August 8th, 2022. Rosa added the plastic liner to the sink for my pedicure and used clean materials. Chris did my manicure more carefully than I'd had done in the past. Excellent job. The price was above average at 30 dollars total for hands & feet. I added a tip which brought my total up. $40 for a gel mani and regular pedi is what drew me in -- that is no doubt a great price. I was going to go my usual spot for just a gel mani but this was more convenient for me at moment so I took a chance. I found the salon OK - it is perfect for your quick routine polish but nothing more. I wanted to be in and out within a hour and I'm glad they took me as a walk in and made all of that possible. I kindly declined the use of their tools - I didn't feel comfortable about the sterility of their tool. The other place I visit opens new tools from a sterilized autoclaved bag and I feel more confident when they use their nail nipper and cuticle spatula. I would suggest you consider the same when you visit -- the tools are not very hygienic. I feel a little uncomfortable about the pedicure foot sink as well -- there was no barrier use but the sink alone. They wash it down in between but again that's not so effective and I would much rather see a salon using a stretching disposable cover over their foot tub. Aside from that - the service was lovely. The nail technician was very pleasant, paid close attention and gave an decent back massage while my nails were drying. I was very skeptical at first after reading a few of the review but I was desperate to get NY nails done before vacation and since my regular nail place wouldn't take me a 45 minutes before my appointment, I decided to try this place since I drive by it. When I entered the place I was greeted by the workers. All seemed friendly. I was kind of turned off by the price for a gel manicure though, $30! Which is $5 more than I usually pay at other nail salons. Anyway, the lady I ended up getting was Naiomi? Didn't speak much but was very nice and took her time with my nails! And did 3 coats! Great spot in Fair Lawn, NJ. They are so busy!! I came here out of desperation! I had gone to a terrible salon in Manhattan and after 3 days, the gel manicure was peeling. Also, is it crazy to say the other salon forgot top coat on one of my toes after my pedicure?! I was about to leave for vacation and visiting a relative for the day before my trip. They recommended this spot to fix my nails. So, I ran over and they were able to squeeze me in. It was busy - really good sign! I showed the salon owner my nails and she immediately recognized the poor job the other salon did. She assessed my pedicure and deemed it was good but just needs top coat on the one toe that was missing it. She agreed to take me herself but was finishing with a client so I had to wait a little. I also brought my niece and they had an open spot for her and took her first with another nail technician. They were very kind and treated her really well, calling her sweet and cute! They did an AMAZING job on my niece's nails which were very small. I was impressed by the very clean and beautiful job they did on her. While I was waiting for the salon owner to help me, her customer and one other nail technician helped me with picking a color. I'm super indecisive so this helped a ton. Everyone was so friendly!! When I got to sit down to re-do my gel manicure, the salon owner was exceptional!! She was efficient and did clean and amazing work. The quality was obvious and I was impressed by her speed. The phone kept ringing for appointments which the owner was responsible for managing and so she had to keep picking up the phone. She would apologize each time she had to pick up. Although I didn't mind, I really noticed the care and sentiment she had toward me as a new customer (unlike that other salon who never apologized for the crazy things that happened when I was there!). People were booking appointments well in advance so it is clear this is a coveted spot! It's been 3-weeks since I got my nails done here and they are still pristine and beautiful! I paid $70 for an UV gel manicure, the lady (Heather) wasn't nice at all, it was my first time getting the UV gel set and every time I asked her a question she looked annoyed, I kept telling her my nails were very thick but she didn't listen, she even made a small cut on my thumb and never even said sorry for hurting me. Ok... So my wife would always bring my two daughters to this place. She had said it was a clean nail salon and they do a great job!! I decided to take my two daughters (7 years old & 10 years old) for a day of beauty (Manicure, Pedicure and Blow Outs after at another place). The two Nail Technicians were professional and did a great job. However, the owner or main lady (older lady at front desk) was way out of line today! I was sitting down in the front of the place while my daughters were getting manicures after their pedicures. When the old lady made eye contact with me over and over again. I went up to the desk as it looked like my daughters were going to be done in five minutes with their manicures. I asked if I can pay now. She replied, "Yes" I gave her a $100 bill and she replied, "Do you need change for tip?" I said, "Yes" When I sat down, I was playing on my phone (Clash Royale) and noticed that she kept on staring at me (not seductively but in a way as if I was not going to tip.) Then after 5 minutes of her staring at me, she came up to me and said in front of all the customers and nail technicians,"You know you have to tip my workers. They work hard and need a tip." I immediately responded "Yes, of course I tip." Then she went on and said,"You look like you are in a rush to leave and don't want to tip them." I was immediately shocked by this and just played it off like i didn't understand her. I sat down and ignored her as she continued staring at me. The Nail Technicians were so nice and professional. However, this lady at the front desk who runs the place is unprofessional and weird. I have been there 3 times over the last 2 years for Manicures and Pedicures and always tip 50% or more when I go. My wife and kids go frequently and she always overtips being that she was a waitress and understands the importance of tips. My family won't be returning to this salon after this embarrassing experience. There was no reason to single me out (assuming just because I'm a man I don't know how to tip). My friend told me about this place because of the great special they have on a gel manicure and regular pedicure for only $40! How do you beat that?? Well I have to come back and give a second review. Very disappointing and probably won't come back. I got a pedicure done by one of the guys. He did a pretty decent job but left some dead skin. I was told I should have picked a callus remover pedicure which doesn't make sense because he clearly cleaned my other food perfectly fine. Than I was trying to get a similar color to my pedicure color for a gel manicure and was told by Vicki and I am assuming her boss Cindy that I was being too picky. I offered to pay the extra $ to change my toe nail color so I can get something similar for my hands. Was repeatedly told I was being too picky (despite the fact that I offer to pay for the color change). I than told them I'll just do a regular manicure since I am being an inconvenience. No apology or anything from them. Just straight horrible customer service. Really disappointed because I really enjoy my first experience here. I'm giving it 2 stars only because they were fairly quick and I didn't haven't to wait. Was taken care of at the time of my appointment but even with that I'm still disappointed because I am a paying customer which was willing to pay the extra $$s to have what I wanted. The atmosphere was pleasant , it certainly looked clean, and the individual nail filer and buffer was a nice touch. I'm usually give a good tip amount because it comes from me not because I'm being told to . No one should obligate you to give a tip there poster says "gratitude appreciated" something like that . DO NOT GET LASH EXTENSIONS HERE! Spent $60 and 2 hours to look almost the same as when I walked in. I told her I wanted a dramatic look and she did not deliver. Well I was going to Pure Nails for over 2 Years they usually do a good job except for the last and final time I have ever gone there. My pedicure was horrible the girl I had was new and she didn't know what she was doing! She kept filling my skin! Then another girl started my nails she was even worse than the first girl they were both in training but they should start with a simple manicure she couldn't eve file and I used to be a cosmetologist. Then in the time I have been going there Some of my nails we're growing away from my skin so I thought it was from the gels. But the one girl there who is in charge when the owner isn't there she told me it was fungus. So the I realized that the other 2 times was the same a fungus. So that day I paid attention to the tools that they use and they don't use a new file for everyone or at least sterilize it or the rest of their tools. They are very bad with the sterilization of their tools. So I have a bill from the Dermatalogist plus medicine and was told to let my nails grow out for about 6 or more months and no nail polish or gels till then. So it's a pretty costly annoying lesson I learned for now on I will bring my own manicuring set! And find a new nail salon!!! read more

I loved the $20 mani-pedi special (Mon-Wed only) but my favorite was the pedicure. The ladies are so precise and massage you about 3 times with exfoliators, lotions, and hot coals.
