When I asked she said there is an upcharge for the side salad (which was not noted on the menu). But the salad was great too so no problem! One friend had the pizza which I would not rate as an amazing pizza (I am an East Coaster so I am a pizza snob) but my friend loved it. They had some very cool toppings for their pizzas too. It didn't make sense that our check only had shrimp tacos and a beer--were our kids just supposed to sit there without food? Not once did our waitress come back to check on us or ask if everything was okay. Eventually, a busser walked by and we asked him about the missing pretzels. He said he would find our waitress, but instead a different waitress came over and actually asked if she had been the one who took our order because she couldn't remember. She said she'd check on the pretzels, but after another 15 minutes, my husband had to get up and tell her that if they weren't ready, to just forget it. A few minutes later, she finally brought them out. After that, no one checked on our table again. We had to track someone down just to get our bill, and we never saw our original waitress for the rest of our meal. Overall, this was some of the worst service we've experienced. It wasn't just the forgotten food--it was the complete lack of communication and attention to our table. We won't be returning, and unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

Here, you can get up to five different beers in one flight although you don't have to get all five. I tried one lighter one (2 AM Tacos--Mexican lager) and it was refreshing and delicious. I also tried four heavier, more alcoholic ones: Black's Peach (sour ale--it was sour indeed), Drink This or the Bees Die (Golden Honey--not bad), Sasquack (Belgian--very good), and St. Alfonsos (Imperial Stout at 12.8 ABV--this one was absolutely outstanding but better have a designated driver with you). This place is kid friendly and definitely dog friendly. In fact, there were probably more dogs than humans during our visit and I'm not complaining. Dogs are better than people, as we know. This was on a Friday night and the place was absolutely slammed, which was nice to see. No food available but you can bring in your own grub. Just very cool. Food was tasty. Daughter had the Caesar salad with actual anchovy garnish. She said it was a little over dressed, like it needed more romaine and less dressing. I had a delish super healthy salad I can't recall the name of but it had all sorts of yummy stuff. Unfortunately I had to drive so no beer tastings but once we got to San Diego airport and I realized there was a Stone Brewing offshoot there, I had a delicious hazy IPA I think actually had "delicious" in the name. I'd absolutely return to the Escondido location if I were in the area again, just on ambience alone. If I lived in the area, my husband and I would probably be there every weekend.
