Excellent urban brewery to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. This is my to-go place with my Spanish girlfriends. We love our 101 up and down and we love spending time checking people and having a beer at Culture. Plus the constantly changing expos of various painters makes this place even more interesting. Is very dog friendly and sometimes we even meet the dog owners thanks to them:) You gotta talk to people. I've been to the Solana Beach one numerous times, so I am familiar with the beers. I was pretty stoked they opened up shop in Encinitas, walking distance from my work. All of their beers are pretty solid. In addition, they have a diverse selection, which is particularly helpful, since my husband and I have different tastes in beers. I'm a big IPA lover, while he is not, and these days, most joints tend to be pretty IPA-happy. We came on a Friday afternoon, and sampled all kinds of stuff. I really enjoyed the hazy IPA. I also tried Husband's milk stout and found it smooth, creamy, and excellent. I had a sip of my friend's strawberry rhubarb beer (a sour). I'm not a big fan of sours, but the acidity in this one was on the subtle side, with nice fruity notes and a lovely rose-pink color. It was pretty good. I also had a taster of the wildflower (?hope I'm remembering it correctly?) IPA. It definitely had an unfamiliar and unique floral tone to it. It was fun and interesting for a taster, but I probably would not order an entire pint of it. As usual, enjoyed the time here. read more

This place has long been one of my favorite breweries in San Diego that's why I'm super stoked that they decided to make one in Encinitas, albeit Solana Beach isn't all that far... I obviously knew this place was here, being the beer aficionado that I am, but for some reason, never visited until last week. That's the great thing about Downtown Encinitas, there are tons of choices for hoppy hydration! It's simple, go here. Stop reading and go. Culture has a very cool, breezy vibe that is expected from a SoCal beach town. My friend had the Cream Ale and I had an Hazy IPA. Both were excellent! Very hip spot in Encinitas. They have great craft brews and most of it is also gluten reduced. Usually there's art hanging on the walls and also some sort of cool movie playing on the projector. The beers are delicious and reasonably priced. A highlight is if you go pee it feels like you're in nature haha, check out the bathroom. read more

Culture Brewery is in a great location with tons of foot traffic and has a nice open-air feel.  On the other hand, the inside is pretty sparse with some basic barrels and uncomfortable chairs to sit in.  It's mostly just a big open box with beer. Culture has some unusual beers to choose from and will gladly give you a taster or two if you can't decide.  Getting a flight is also a good way to go.  I tried the Ginger Snap Red and was surprised at the true ginger snap taste.  It was delicious and I ordered a glass. As more of our people arrived, we put three beers on the barrel for them to try.  They loved the Vanilla Cream Ale.  They thought the Brown was really good, but when they tasted my Ginger Snap, every single person thought it was the worst beer they have ever tried.  Amatures! The culture at Culture is "anything goes."  You can bring your pets, your own food, whatever.  There were lots of dogs and babies tonight. Bottom Line: Culture Brewery is a fine place to have a beer with friends and dogs.  It's a bit stark and not cozy, but serves its purpose.  I may be alone in liking the Ginger Snap Red, but I'm sure there are others out there who enjoy good beer.  They just weren't in my group. I had the pleasure of visiting Culture on my way through Encinitas. The name fits it perfectly. The tap room feels like a local Encinitas surfer bar. Laid back, 12+ drafts. Culture, at least during my visit, is still on the "clear beer" craze. Many of their styles incorporating the tried and true west coast IPA or pale ale styles. Their beer selection is localy produced and fresh, thus changing based on availability and demand (like a farmers' market!) This place is awesome! Every time I come the walls are filled with art pieces by a different artist. It gives it a different feel every time, as well as being a great conversation starter. This brewery has a good selection of beers, they are dog friendly, and you're able to bring your own food! I always have a good time with friends whenever we go. Plus it's a great place to grab a quick beer if you're waiting for a table by near by restaurants or if you're going somewhere after. Oh! Also, the staff is always super nice, and great to talk to. Very cool little hole-in-the-wall bar. Nice young crowd and very lively even on weekdays. The Bartenders are on their game and aim to please. This location has a nice open wall section that looks out to the street. The place is very relaxed and cozy (I saw multiple dogs just chilling out, LOL).
