The quesadilla was unlike any I've had before, and it was absolutely packed with chicken. We liked our food. It's just pricey. The restaurant is large inside, and has outside seating as well. I had been driving all morning (since 4am) and excited that I would be back in Columbus around lunchtime. The place was dead. I was the only customer. Most staff were just milling around. A bartender finally showed up and took my order. A+ on the margarita. My only peeve was the interrogation. "Why are you drinking a margarita at noon. Isn't it too early for that? Etc. He must have noticed, because he apologized and encouraged me to enjoy my lunch. Whatever happened to, "Thanks for coming in! How can I serve you? Glad you chose Pure and our fabulous margaritas." Instead, I came away with ... why did I stop here? When I stop at a restaurant, I want to be served. This felt like a trip to the police station and getting finger printed. Really 4.8 stars I've been here a couple times over the years but for the last couple of months I've been OBSESSED! if you love, authentic yet fresh take on Mexican food this is the place. I recommend tacos de pescado, taquitos de pollo (with extra creamy verde on the side ), papas fritas, and burrito ahogado - chicken. The atmosphere is always clean. The service is great. The ONLY room for improvement for me is that when you're picking up orders that you've already paid for: I wish they had it ready for you at the front instead of having to walk all the way into the restaurant and bother the busy bartender to get food you've already paid for. Plus when I order food to-go, it's usually because I don't want to be bothered with crowds/noises. So there's plenty of times I haven't ordered from them for that simple reason. I've eaten here a few times now and overall, I like it a lot. The food is great and the margaritas are great and the customer service has been great in our experience so far. The only issue I've had is that twice when we've eaten food from here, once when we had it delivered and once when we ate in the restaurant, our food was far too salty. The most recent time we ate here our whole table of four all had very overly salted food. I definitely appreciate when things are seasoned well, but too much salt can ruin it and unfortunately, that was our experience. We still had a good time and we will definitely be back, I'm just hoping this doesn't end up being a consistent issue with the salt because it's happened twice now. read more

This past Monday I took my daughter there. We've been there several times. By far worst experience. Place was half empty and we stood at front waiting for someone to seat us. I saw one person that worked there in the first 5 minutes we waited. The bartender. I eventually walked over to her and asked if we are to seat ourselves. Stressed and not to friendly she said that they didn't have a host and we'd get to you as soon as we can. It took us another 5-10 minutes sitting and waiting to see someone come serve us before we said let's get the hell out of here. As we walked out the same bartender came walking up with water for us. This place was pretty good. It was really clean and has a cool interior. Social distancing dining was decent, I still felt a little close to another party but it was fine. I have a gluten allergy. The menu denotes gluten free options which is nice. I ordered the queso fundido and shrimp tacos and told my server I was gf - she made sure I'd get corn tortillas with the queso. The tacos came out with fried, breaded shrimp and flour tortillas thankfully I knew it was NOT gf and sent it back. By the time my fiancé had finished his burrito, my tacos came out and looked pretty sad. Each taco had only 3 tiny shrimp and a sprinkle of pico de Gallo and onions. Thankfully they took my tacos off our bill for the mistake. The corn tortillas were awful: super hard, rubbery and impossible to eat. They brought us chips instead (I've never eaten queso with a tortilla?) which were good and fried in a dedicated gf fryer. The queso fundido with chorizó was their saving grace - not like a normal goopy queso (which I also love) but a bunch of cheese browned in the broiler. We loved it. My fiancé liked his burrito but thought it was weird when he got a can when he ordered a soda. Maybe a covid thing? We had a great 1st time ever meal at PURE. This is what you get when you grind 50 pounds of fresh corn everyday and make tortillas from scratch. We were greeted at the door, led to our table & pleasantly surprised that it was not yet busy but that there was at least a couple diners already there. We had the chips n salsa and the queso for starters. So good! Then I got the fried shrimp tacos and they were so delicious. I also got a few of their traditional pure margaritas and they're so delicious. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is super fun. Highly recommend this place! Good food and great customer service. My only recommendation would be to skip take out and only dine in. Idk what goes on back there when they do take out orders but the food is always cold and they give you smaller proportions than they would if you dine in. They also tend to always forget part of your order. I usually just drive back to get whatever was missing but this last time they forgot the bag of chips for the queso appetizer. A bag of chips isnt worth the drive back so I called them and the spoke to a lady up front. She said "so.. what do you want me to do about it?" I said "well what can you do about it?" and she put me on with the manager who issued a refund. 2 weeks later I call back because I haven't gotten the refund yet. The margaritas are fabulous not too sour and very fresh. The chips and queso were also good- chips crunchy and fresh. We ordered the Barbacoa tacos with rice and beans. Barbacoa tacos were luke warm and had too much grease dripping from them. The rice was extremely limey and charro beans were overly seasoned. If we return it would be for drinks and apps. We were looking for healthy, gluten-free food and found this place on Yelp. We ordered the guacamole, chicken soup, and 2 cazuela bowls. Impressive! We loved how healthy and fresh it was. Enjoyed the tangy green sauce on the chicken cazuela bowl (would've liked more!). Only problem was that I found a rogue noodle in my gluten-free chicken bowl. I don't think I would get them again because they were bland but adding on the condiments and extra queso I asked for made them a lot better.
