Hoffman Plumbing is NOT Hoffman Plumbing any longer - Hoffman used to be great, but they sold out…read moreto a larger corporation out of Las Vegas called "Legacy". DO NOT use this company. We purchased and installed a gas water heater through Hoffman in 2019, which was a great experience. This past Friday, our water heater's pilot light went out and when attempting to get it started up again, would not stay lit. Did a bit of my own trouble shooting via the internet, but was not comfortable taking the next steps necessary to possibly fix it. I called the number here on Yelp and reached this new company which I thought would be fine, with the understanding it was no longer Hoffman. Two techs came out today and right off informed me that I may need a new water heater. Definite red flag as they had not even looked at anything yet. Then, when looking at the wiring and pilot light area, said they needed to call their boss to ask what to do next. I was floored. The company sends two "techs" out to fix the problem that clearly have no repair experience and don't know what they are doing (not their fault, it's the company's fault).They then were looking online for how to trouble shoot the situation. It was at that point I went into the house and called another company (York Plumbing, who are fantastic by the way), and explained what was going on. They told me they would send someone out this afternoon. Finally the two techs from Legacy inform me that we either need to replace the whole gas valve, thermostat unit and burner assembly for $2450 or replace the whole water heater for $3562 and would not be able to complete either until next week. Um, no. Paid them their $99 service fee and off they went. York Plumbing arrived, efficiently and correctly diagnosed the problem and will be back tomorrow to fix/replace the parts needed for around $600 total. SO - there you have it. I am not one to ever write reviews here! But this is unacceptable and after seeing some others report this same experience, thought it important to share and warn others.

Based on our prior experiences, we assumed they had increased the service fee from $99 to $140. Previously, we paid a total of $169 ($99 service fee + $70 for the filter), which included a courtesy system check as part of the $99 service call. Now, they've billed me $430--absolutely shocking and a complete rip-off. To make things worse, the filter costs less than $40 on Amazon. The new management was deceptive and not transparent during the call when we made the appointment. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I will no longer be using this company--scam - stay away from these people! There are other companies can come and help for lower price if you decide to change water filter or you can do it yourself. Will cost only less than $40 or the max $50.

The only way to describe West Coast Pump and Well is AMAZING!…read more I was searching for a well company to do a well inspection and water test on a plot of land that had a well on it but it hadn't been used in decades. I read reviews and chose West Coast over MacKay and I couldn't be happier with the service at West Coast. Beau was the well technician that came out and he's also the owner. He was so helpful! I had never had a well before so he explained everything very clearly and when the water sample came back, he called me to explain the results. He also gave me a quote to get the well operational. Once I closed on the land, I immediately called Beau back to schedule an appointment to get the well running and electrical cleaned up.
