There is a Country Pride restaurant inside that looks like it would cook up good old fashioned delicious truck stop grub. Like the cook says in the movie City Slickers "It's hot, brown, and plenty of it". Wish we could have stayed for lunch. TA is a place to gas up, get a snack or a meal and go. The Convenience store has some good things but it's not my first choice since I don't use diesel anymore.

The boys got fast food and we were all going to eat outdoors with the pups despite the heat and humidity. There just weren't any spaces for travel trailers available and we almost left and decided to just circle back into the lot, park on the curb in front of the pumps and sit on the curb and eat. Would be 5 stars, but for a travel stop, it wasn't super travel friendly pulling a tiny trailer even.

Three employees, including one named Mona, were standing around chatting and didn't even acknowledge me. One young lady walked to a nearby register, just stared at me--no greeting, no offer to help. When I asked about the WiFi, she mumbled her response. When I asked her to clarify, she seemed irritated and eventually walked away, leaving me standing there. Thankfully, team leader Danielle Spangler stepped in and provided excellent service--polite, helpful, and professional. She saved the experience from being a total loss. I'm giving 1 star only because of Danielle. The rest of the interaction was unacceptable. Love's should really address the lack of professionalism at this store.

I am most pleased to report you will not have that experience here. Our shower was steamy hot and the water pressure was phenomenal! Easily ranks as one of the best. Shower #5 in North Platte is easily on par with Shower #10 at the Troutdale TA. Of course, neither of these are in the same class as Shower #1 at Sapp Bros in Denver or any of the bathtubs at Little America, but, it is nice to know this is here. The Denny's underwent remodelling which removed all the outlets at the booths, continuing Corporate's war on truck drivers. Now the only outlets are at the counter, which isn't so bad if you need to charge your phone, but, it is a bit awkward when you want to use your computer to pay bills or some such. Food is still good and I was glad that they still had the Denny's as a lot of them are pulling their sit-down restaurants out. Am definitely looking forward to coming back!

The female employee on duty chose to call law enforcement to wake up and move parked truck drivers instead of treating them with respect. As CDL drivers, we're required to manage our hours of service and get proper rest to stay safe on the road. Waking drivers in the middle of their break and forcing them to move creates unnecessary stress and can affect safety for everyone. If parking restrictions exist, they should be communicated professionally before drivers park--not by having police wake sleeping drivers. I hope management addresses how truckers are treated, because we're the people keeping freight moving across the country.
