I absolutely loved my spin class at purple pedal. The instructor was so helpful, motivating and fun. She took the time before class to teach me how to set up my bike. The facility was very clean and the lights and music were high-energy. The class I took was only $12 and included 45 minutes of cycling which had a segment of dumbbells to exercise your arms. Much like the other reviews I've seen, I would say Purple Pedal is good if you aren't super serious about cycling. Personally, I didn't really enjoy the classes too much. You'll definitely get a good work out but if you're into the whole "emotional" aspect of cycling then you probably won't be as into this place. That being said I would definitely recommend trying Purple Pedal out at least once because I'm sure many people enjoy it. read more

A few months ago, I started attending classes at both Purple Pedal and Purple Yoga (Fullerton) to shed some pounds before my wedding. I purchased a Groupon for this studio and absolutely loved it! You can reserve a seat through the MINDBODY app. The studio is well maintained and clean. Staff was always friendly, and extremely helpful. Some of their bikes don't require SPD clip in shoes but you do have to show up early of you want to grab one of those bikes to avoid the shoe rental fee. Classes were always fun, energetic and such a great workout. Parking may be a bit of a hassle if you aren't going to the early morning classes since it is located in Downtown Fullerton. read more

Beware of this place. The owner opened his cycling studio last week in violation of the current Orange County Health Order. Gyms and fitness centers are not allowed to operate indoors only outdoors in Orange County. When I read on Instagram that he opened the studio, I posted information telling him he was in violation of the law and putting his customers at risk. The owner then blocked me from viewing or posting anything on his IG account so his customers don't know what he is doing. I reported this matter to Dept. of Public Health so they can go out talk to the owner and enforce the current heath order. Shame on the owner for putting his greediness over his customer's heath. Even Soul Cycle studios have not opened. Please be careful with businesses like this one who violate the law. read more

I love the range of instructors and love how unique each class is. The classes are friendly and approachable. It was such a dream experience. Forewarning for those who are buying the Groupon, there isn't a way to pre-book your spot online, so it's left up to chance to get a bike. I've called multiple times prior to getting into a class to get my name on the list, but have been pretty unsuccessful in getting someone to answer the phone. The hours of operation on the website are inaccurate, as apparently there are only employees in the studio up to 30 minutes prior to a class. If you are lucky enough to get your name onto the list, it's a great workout, and the instructors are super sweet. You're guaranteed to leave the class sweaty, hopefully from your spin efforts, but more likely because of the poor air circulation in the studio. Either way, it's the closest thing to a SoulCycle Fullerton has, and I'd say worth the 3 week Groupon trial period. They do have a free guest pass too, if you want to try it first. read more

Purple Pedal took over the old Purple Yoga location. Purple Yoga moved down the street though! Anyway, I have never taken any other cycling/ spin class so I cannot properly compare these calsses; however, for a novice indoor cyclist/ spinner, I really do enjoy these classes! I love the fact that your screen lights up and changes color according to the level you should be going at.. it keeps you accountable! But the atmosphere is also friendly and they do try to make it very comfortable. Adjusting the bike can be difficult, but it really does matter and affect your workout so definitely ask the instructor at the beginning to help you adjust it properly. I mistakenly did not ask and I regret my decision two-fold half way through the class. Any shoes will do fine because they have "baskets" for those of us, like me, who wear any old sneakers to class! I would give 1 star for the customer service but decided to give 2 stars because I do enjoy the cycling classes and the instructors are great. The only thing about the classes is that everyone is really close together and the classes get pretty crowded at times. I don't feel really safe with so many people around me with their masks off. The customer service is not the greatest and I'm actually pretty disappointed. I originally started off with a Groupon for 2 weeks a while back and I definitely loved it so I decided to buy the unlimited autopay. After the first month, I quickly realized that my schedule was too hectic and had to settle for less classes so I asked one of the associates at the studio if I was able to switch to the 8 classes per month and he replied that the owner was coming in later and he would let him know to change it. After my class, I went back and asked the associate and he said that he thinks the owner has already switch it on my account so I was set. The next month comes and I was still charged unlimited pricing. I decided to just leave it as it was and change it the next month. I emailed them to ask if they could change it to 8x a month the following month and Joe, the owner emailed me back about a week later to tell me that he has changed it on my account. The next month comes and I was still charged for the unlimited package. I emailed Joe back letting him know and was hoping he would refund me the difference which was $20. He emailed me back and he apologized and said he changed it for me. He then told me that he was going to keep the $20 as credit for my following month which I was okay with. Again, my schedule completely changed the following month and I was unable to make the classes fit in my schedule anymore so I had to email Joe again to ask him to cancel my membership the following month. He emailed me back telling me that he has canceled my membership and nothing else. I emailed him back asking if I could get a refund for the $20 credit, which I know is not much but I was kind of annoyed that he just ignored it. I mean I already got charged a month of unlimited twice and didn't complain about it. He then replies saying, "It appears you were charged a $15 late cancellation fee on Nov 13, and only have $5 credit on your account." And that's all he said. I was a little confused.. so are you just going to keep my money then? Also, when I did cancel my class late, I lost a class out of my 8 classes.. Usually when you lose a class, you shouldn't be charged the $15 cancelation fee as well. I emailed him back, asking him about the situation and he has not replied back for over a week now.. I mean if that was really the policy then at least have the decency to email me back and kindly let me know that instead of ignoring me. read more

I recently saw some cycling/spin classes popping up around OC, but none were around me in Fullerton. Low and behold a few weeks later Purple Pedal opened up. It works with your purple yoga membership if you have one. It's now in Purple Yoga's old location, but the remodeled the studio portion of the facility. All the bikes (around 30ish) are brand new and I was able to clip in no problem! One thing i really enjoyed about the bikes was their tech features. Not only does it give you all your stats at the end of class, but there are color codes throughout your workout to show you how hard you're working out. It really keeps you on pace. (You can have this feature off as well). There were only 4 students in the 530 class on Tuesday (but it is new). The instructor was Lorraine and she really kicked my butt! She liked using the tempo of the songs which I really like to help keep pace. She was very friendly and very helpful as well. I hope they get more students so this place sticks around because I plan on going again!!! I highly recommend this place! You'll get a workout no matter what!!! read more

Started with Purple Yoga Fullerton, introduced to Purple Pedal and was hooked. Cycle class has not been the same since. The place is clean. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They are very welcoming. I have gone to Jeri, Bobby and Danny's classes and enjoyed them all. They all have their own styles, yet they know how to work you into sweat mode and have fun doing it. Still have to try the other instructors. I have been cycling for 4 years now and have not been as satisfied with all aspects of "my ride" like I am with Purple Pedal. I've been going to Purple Pedal since 2015 and it gave me a body I loved-strong and fit. Purple Pedal is far from a bougie, intense cycle cult, which is why I love it so much. Every instructor insists that this is your ride and you're only trying to improve on your own stats. On the topic of instructors, all hail Bobby and Lauren. They have pushed me to the tops of imaginary mountains, made me sludge my way through fake mud because my resistance was literally half my weight and made me want to cry with the tabata sprints that I thought would never end. But I came out feeling stronger after every ride. I knew I was going to miss a lot of things about Fullerton when I moved out of state the following year, but Purple Pedal is most definitely one of them. I have only been to one class, I usually go to Grit in CM which is much higher energy which is more my style. The class price is standard but it does cost $4 to rent shoes. I've been a purple yoga member for over a year and love purple pedal. Jennifer's class is amazing! Arm work with weights and this crazy twist move that had me sore for a couple of days.. Love this place! I found Purple Pedal through my Yelp search for a spin studio near me, then found a Groupon for them so I decided to give them a try! I have done spin many times before and was excited to find a new studio, I walked into the studio and was greeted by many smiling faces behind the counter. I had signed up my mother as well, this was her first time going to spin. We both felt welcome when setting up our accounts and couldn't wait to get on the bikes. They helped us set up our bikes to our level and we were ready for class. The bikes have color code that you try to reach during the class. I liked the idea of the color on the bike as you didn't feel the pressure of everyone else..it was just me working to get to the color instead focusing on numbers of just watching my RMP and Watts. Kelsey was our instructor and was helpful the entire time, she even chatted with us after class to see how we were. I highly recommend Purple Pedal to any person who has been spinning or is new! I've been going to purple pedal for about 2 months. I don't have a previous experience to compare it to but so far it's been great! The instructors do a great job with motivating us to push ourselves while also providing a comfortable environment to ride at our own speed. It is a bit pricy and it sucks that if you're on an autopay plan you can't make up for a missed class but I suppose it is a good way to encourage you to make time to workout. Overall, it's a wonderful workout and though you may feel like you wanna puke during it, you'll definitely walk out of there feeling amazing afterwards. My favorite instructors so far have been Andrew, Jennifer, and Bobby! It's definitely a great way to be active if you're someone with a busy schedule! Just moved to the area and have been looking for a good spin studio. Found Purple Pedal via class pass , and was not disappointed. I love the whole color concept with the bikes. I've been spinning for years and have never been to a spin studio that has the color concept on their bikes. I normally spin in a heated spin studio, so my calorie burn is always high. I can't speak on the actual classes because the customer service (or lack there of) was so bad that I never even got that far! So, I signed up with Groupon for a series of classes. In the past, with other fitness classes I've signed up from other companies, I have to call and redeem my voucher and then I can sign up online or with an app. I call PP and no answer. I try calling different times throughout the day (during their business hours) and no answer. I eventually googled it and found through FAQ that they have an app and I need to COME IN and redeem my voucher. So I come at 4pm WHICH IS WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE OPEN and no one is there! Door is locked and not a soul is in the front. I called several times and no answer. I WAITED 30 MINUTES and no one showed up. I'm done. I will he reporting this to Groupon and any other place I can think of. I'll also be shouting from the rooftops DO NOT GO TO PURPLE PEDAL! Either they are understaffed or just don't care. Just a warning for anybody looking to join this place, it doesn't seem like they're looking for new business. I found this place online and was excited about checking it out. I called and didn't get an answer. I decided to just drop by and talk to someone as I was hoping to get a tour and the place was closed. I came by in the middle of the day during their posted open hours. No note on the door saying "out to lunch" or anything. I totally get it if there's only employees there during a class but I never saw that anywhere on their website or Yelp page. I have no idea how I'm supposed to follow up. What a shame. read more
