I came here for cycling class. I love the set up. where there's a stage in the front & all the bikes are circle around it, so we all can see clearly. not some having better views than others. My friend wanted to take Corey's class so we did. What stands out about him is he has a huge energy. definitely hypes you up on the bike. he dances and put on a show & even sings Lol. it's pretty hilarious, i'm laughing the whole time. but if you want a really good workout, i'm not sure if this is it for me. he was barely ever on the bike. I like my instructor on the bike showing me the moves & knowing they can do it well Lol. but Corey was the most entertaining instructor. my friends love his class. read more

The instructors here are great. They all have their own flare. One thing I did not like were the front desk people. They don't get out of your way while you're trying to check in. They're always talking in the front and chattering like high schoolers when they should be working aka helping the customers out. The worker Madalene was not helpful either. I once needed questions answered and she looked annoyed to even talk to me. You can def tell who the regulars are and they have their own clique. Wannabe mean girls. Purple Pedal is my new addiction!!! I started off with an intro offer and now I'm hooked! They have several types of memberships and individual class offerings which make things very flexible. I've done both the SPIN and FIT classes and I love them both. Jen's FIT weight training classes are fun and challenging. I always get sore after which is a good thing because I'm actually working my muscles out to that point. Jen works on different muscle groups each time I attend so I'm always getting something different. She is very motivational and a nice person in general. For SPIN I've taken several different instructors which individually have their own unique style and have been great, but my favorite is Andrew! I just love Andrew's style. He plays great music and is super, super high energy and fun! Andrew don't ever change your style, you are awesome at what you do and very motivational! I never knew how much fun SPIN would be! Coming home from college for the summer, I was worried about finding a studio that I would love as much as the one I go to in San Diego. This place blows everyone else out of the water as the instructors and the available times for class are top notch. Kittie and Cory are my faves- I try to go to them whenever I can!! All the instructors are amazing though, I haven't had a negative experience with any of them. Their encouragement and awesome music always leaves me feeling proud of myself, and of course tired. After several years of paying an unlimited membership I am unable to get a response from the business owner as to why I am being charged for this month and yet can't access any classes so I requested a reimbursement and have yet to see the explanation or obtain a response. I requested to cancel my next cycle billing so as to cancel my membership for the next billing in September and the response was to charge me for the last month which the site manager explained in person I was in however cannot access classes, as my Sunday morning class was canceled?? I witnessed the business owner yelling at an instructor yesterday morning in a very threatening manner in which she was crying and shaking due to his aggressive pointing and yelling at her. As a female and mother I cannot in good conscience support a business that treats women in such a shameful and repugnant manner. That is not an establishment that I will support and I am a huge supporter of small businesses. read more

I like this studio a lot. I started coming through ClassPass and have slowly started to work it into my monthly/ weekly routine. I have tried 4 different instructors now and my favorite is Kelsey! She gives such a great workout and has an amazing energy. I really like her class because she does a lot of isolation (slow speed very heavy resistance) which I feel provides a good mix of strength training with the cardio. She is also very easy to follow which is important for a cycling class - I have taken a few that were way to fast pace and I felt like I could never catch the beat. Purple Pedal is good for all levels. If it's your first time taking a spin class, I would recommend trying it here first because the instructors are super patient, and the classes are good for beginners and the avid cyclists. There is some loud, upbeat music to set the tone and so that you can pedal to the songs blaring from the speakers. Located in the old space where Purple Yoga used to live, the studio has a lot of great amenities that other cycling places lack, like showers. Nothing like getting super sweaty and then having to go off to your next destination dripping wet. Even if you change your clothes, you're still sticky. They also have lockers to hold your belongings during your workout. For shoes, you can either wear your own or use the the cycling ones that lock on to the pedals. I prefer the locked variation so that you feel more secure when moving like a madman. If you don't have your own shoes, you can rent them for a fee, but it's free for the first-timer. During your class you'll do a variety of intervals to get your heart rate up. Each bike is equipped with a device that allows you to track your speed, distance and heart rate. It's more accurate if you bring your own heart rate monitor, otherwise it gives you a guesstimation based on the info you enter before class. While you're going through your workout, the lights on the bike illuminate to different colors based on where you are - it's also an indicator on where the rest of the class is so that you can try and catch up and match their speed. One thing that I wish they had was a water bottle filling station, other than that, I really enjoy this studio and plan on making it a regular stop in my workout adventures! read more

I'm so confused. I was hesitant when I mentioned wanting to sign up for the 7:30pm class but was reassured by a staff member that as long as I called ahead and let them know if I was running just a few minutes late that it would be fine. I called today to tell them I was 5 minutes behind but that I was definitely coming and was told they would likely give my spot to someone on the waitlist. I get it- they have a business to run. But why encourage people to call if they are running late when there is no benefit... you still lose your class. I really love these classes and I really wanted to sign up for the unlimited membership once my Groupon was up but would mostly the 7:30pm class during the week. I assumed that if i were proactive in registering in advance and was communicative if I were late (as told by a staff member), it would work but sadly, it will not. It's a real bummer because these instructors are incredible and I really thought this was the workout I had been searching for. Update : I didn't give up after one bad experience and am now an unlimited member. As you can see by management's kind reply to my review, their customer service here is top notch. I'm updating it back to 5 stars. Update about instructors: ANDREW if you are reading this, I'm sorry lol. I low key cursed you out under my breath during today's class but I freakin love you as an instructor. You are so high energy and I could never have done what I did today by myself. You push HARD and I burned an extra 125 calories in your class today- the most I have ever burned. I currently can't feel my legs right now but it was all worth it. This Place Rocks! I am new to Spinning and I am hooked. Have been to a few classes now and last nights class was the best so far. Instructor for class (DANNY) was challenging, made it fun and was inspiring. He was able to motivate and lead us through the class with good information on how to maximize our workouts. I'm turning 50 this year and thought it was a good time to step up my cardio workouts. I am definitely a beginner, but the instructor didn't make feel like that at all, cheering me on the whole way, reminding me that everyone's skill level is different and to set my goals based on my ability and not the person next to me. I will definitely attend this class on a regular basis. I high recommend this place if you are looking to start spinning or need a place close to home! read more

Came in with no expectations and now I'm addicted to cycling! Right now they are offering a $49 special for a 10 day package, which starts when you show up for your first class. I have only visited after the remodel but the studio looks great! I would strongly recommend the current special. It allowed me the freedom to try different instructors and get a feel for the workout. You will definitely sweat, but everyone does! Each instructor brings their own personality to the workout and you are guaranteed a great class! Be prepared for loud music and high energy (which I love). They have an app that is easy to use when scheduling classes and following their Instagram is also very helpful! They are also currently offering your first ride for free - so grab a friend and schedule a class! C19 notes - while some choose to wear a mask during the workout, it is not recommended during intense exercise. Sanitizing wipes are available before and after your class. Temperature screenings are taken before entering the class and masks must be worn outside of the studio and off the bike. Since the location is in Downtown Fullerton, you may not find parking directly in front of the studio, but there is a parking lot behind the studio that allows 2 hour parking. read more

Unfortunately, I had several negative experiences with this studio, I would like to share. First I was glad, we got a cycling studio in our location. I wanted to try it through a Groupon and bought a deal for 5 sessions. I have used 3 and will have to skip the rest 2 due to occurred situations. First, they could not get me on a MINDBODY list and that was a hassle to calling them 3 times. I tried to contact them via email 2 times but response was a 2 -3 days delay. Very unpleasant. Last week I received from on studio an offer via email to buy a 3-pack for $31, which I did. But I was confused when after transaction I got an email that I have to use this offer within 4 weeks. This is very important nuance which wasn't stated in email. I still have my Groupon's sessions and I'll be traveling for 2 weeks, so I wouldn't be able to use this 3 pack. I emailed them and got a reply after 2 (!) days, I have to use it within 4 weeks and purchase is non-refundable. I felt trapped. A couple days later I booked a night class at 7:30 pm. I came 8 minutes late and they already gave away my spot to someone on waiting list. Instructor offered me her seat but I wasn't comfortable with it and was about to leave as she worked out with one member an exchange spot deal, so I was able to stay in a class. I emailed a studio next day to express my concerns. But after 4 (!) days of no-response I called them. Women was talking a lot and could not stop, she told me they give away spots of late comers after 5 minutes class begin. I should just call her next time. That was over for me. Lesson learned, money lost. I will never come back. And it is sad, this is the only cycling studio in area where I live. read more

Love this place! I decided to finally try out a spin class and went for purple pedal. They have great deals on groupon and their website itself. The instructors and people at the front desk were kind and helpful. You also get a free rental of the spin shoes during your first class, which I found helpful to try. The facility itself is clean and minimal. Their bikes are a bit different so it is definitely a good idea to show up early to get set up properly. The room where the class is held has a great entertainment system and fun lights! There are a limited amount of bikes that don't require cycling shoes, so get there early if you want to get a bike without clips. I've been coming to Purple Pedal on and off for years. There's something that keeps me coming back. I just took Gabby's 5pm class and she is a doll! It takes talent to encourage and hype up a smaller class and she did just that. I loved that she didn't make us feel bad about our different levels but still encouraged us to push ourselves. I started spinning about 4 years ago and had an amazing teacher who introduced me to cycling. I have not found someone comparable until purple pedal (and yes I tried soul cycle). I started Purple Pedal with the 2 week beginner's pass in which you can go an unlimited amount of times within 2 weeks for a small price! I went to as many teachers as I could and liked several of them! The bikes at the studio are very modern and the color changing system that changes based on how hard you are working (based on your body metrics you enter) makes me work so much harder! The colors are also a nice way to gauge how hard you are working and the summary of colors, miles, watts, etc at the end are a nice way to monitor progress. The place is very clean and the booking system through their online portal and Iphone App is so easy! In terms of teachers: Andrew: NEW FAVE!! he just started teaching here but his personality is so great and his classes are challenging and super fun! His music is awesome and his personality makes you forget how hard you are actually working! Ben: One of my favorites! He is extremely knowledgeable about proper form and cycling in general. He bikes/runs a lot outside so he makes the class anecdotal as if you were in an actual bike race. Lauren: LOVE LOVE LOVE! definitely get an intense workout with lauren. Her music is extremely upbeat and her class is fast paced with lots of drills! Might be a little intense for beginners. Jen: currently on maternity leave but I also love her classes. Music is upbeat hip hop and top 40 pop mostly. She does a fair amount of drills too and incorporates weights in to her classes so you get a nice arm work out too! Bobby: EDM music that he mixes himself so there are no awkward pauses from song to song as it is mixed cohesively. He is extremely personable and does a lot of drills as well. Jeri: Good class for beginners! Jeri has an awesome personality! Super funky and her music, while not my usual taste, is also really good and a nice change compared to other classes! I usually do her early morning classes because she's so pleasant in the morning and not overly intense in her classes. Danny: R&B music (a little too slow for me) but his classes seem to focus more on heavy weight on the bike and less fast pace (I've only gone to his class twice). Definitely left exhausted and sore, so if heavy weight spinning is your thing then you'll love it! Purple Pedal offers tons of great packages and is totally, undoubtedly worth the money! read more

Front desk here is horrible. I was literally 1 minute late and they wouldn't let me in even though the instructor (who by the way was the owner) said it was fine if I was a bit late. I tried explaining to them that I've been to the facility before and even offered to provide them with my email address that I used last time to prove that I've been there before but they wouldn't have it. They wouldn't even look it up even after asking multiple times. I tried explaining to them that I was stuck in traffic and they said I had to sign a liability waiver which I was trying to do but they wouldn't let me because they said they personally had to let me in and set up my bike for me even though I told them I've been there before. Don't waste your time here like they did to me. You can find a studio that's more professional and understanding. read more
