My sisters and I decided to go to the lavender farm in Olympia, but after finding out it was closed on Wednesday's, we had to look elsewhere, and I'm so glad we did. This is the cutest lavender farm ever! It's a local, family owned business and it includes a gift shop (which is not overpriced like other reviews have said), a mini ice cream / lemonade shop, a bunny, a hammock, a little tent (not sure if it's for kids or dogs though, little pond and fountains all throughout the property, beautiful waterfront views of the lake, and hills of lavender. Entry to the lavender farm is $8 per person (kids 10 and under are free) and with that, you can either choose to pick a little bunch of lavender included, or you can get a $3 credit for the gift shop. One thing I loved about this place was that it wasn't overly packed. There were a couple other people that stopped by while we were there, but over all, it was pretty secluded, peaceful, relaxing. I'm all for supporting small, local, family owned businesses, so finding this spot was a gem. If you're looking for a lavender field to stop at, look no further, you've come to the right place! This is a pretty small lavender farm compared to the pictures I've seen at the ones in Sequim but it is actually very quiet and charming! To go past the shop and into the lavender farm itself to either look or pick lavender yourself the fee is $8. However if you buy something in the gift shop there is a $3 credit that gets applied to your purchase. In the lavender area itself you can help yourself picking your own lavender or just look at it and take in the tranquil environment. The view past the field is great! Also in the back there is a small building where they have two or three different kinds of ice cream you can buy, some selections have lavender in the ingredients as well as complimentary lavender lemonade. In the gift shop there are lots of lavender scented oils, soaps, home decor and more that is all lavender themed. The lady that ran the shop was very pleasant and friendly. read more

What a beautiful place! When you walk in the front door the amazingly soothing aroma of lavender embraces you and forces all your worries and stresses to just melt away as if you were peeling off a heavy jacket. We wandered about in her shop for a few minutes and then stepped out into the farm. Rows and rows of lavender plants give way to the water. It was so nice to sit by the water and eat some of their lavender ice cream. We had a great time talking with Suzanne and hearing about all of her future plans for the shop and special events. Suzanne, I really hope you do the High Tea Afternoon. That would be so much fun!! read more

This place was perfect.. we hit the farm right before we had to catch the ferry to Seattle, about 10mins away. My wife and I stumbled upon this family owned lavender farm. The farm itself is about the size of a fairly large yard. The first part of the yard is filled with lavender with a barn to the side where they sale yummy lavender Ice cream:) After your cutting with is $8 dollars each person. You can choose to cut a bundle of lavender or use $3 of the $8 dollars towards store credit. The yard has a beautiful view of the lake and comfy seating to enjoy the scenery. BREATH TAKING!!! Be advise that you will run into thousands of bees being that they pollinate the lavender. read more

First off they advertised this farm as lavender fields..very misleading. This garden is privately owned by a very rude lady. She treated myself and my girlfriend like we didn't belong there. We were hoping to take some photos on my DSLR camera and we were told we could only take photos with our iPhones. After paying almost $20 for the two of us to go see the small lavender garden. My advice would be drive the extra 10 miles. read more

I'm so glad we didn't listen to the two negative reviews about this place. Some people are just unhappy with everything! I'm from Texas and had never visited the northwest before. To be honest, visiting the lavender garden was an after-thought but we weren't disappointed. From the moment we got there, we were met with the nicest little family and SUCH TALENT!! This lady truly deserves to be successful with this business. The effort that goes into such a place is impressive to say the least. $8, of which she gives back a $3 credit in her shop, is completely reasonable. You're NOT visiting her backyard. You're looking at her passion, talent, and skills all put together for one beautiful masterpiece. The shop is gorgeous, not a thing out of place. It's neat as a pin! The ice cream we had was something like orange-chocolate-lavendar... it was to die for!! I'm so glad I was brave enough to try something out of my comfort zone. My teenage daughters loved this place! Yes it is $8 to go outside into the garden, but you get to pick your own bouquet of lavender and take lots of pretty pictures. Make sure you go inside of the little shop first. read more

I went to this farm a couple of years ago when I was visiting my son. The owners were very friendly and informative. I prefer a small family owned business to the larger more commercial venues. Bigger is not always better. This location is stunning and the gardens were immaculate. The ice cream was a bonus! I think it is more fun to hear the stories about how the business started and see the work people put behind it. I don't mind paying to enjoy that experience. These folks put a lot of energy into this farm. Their pride shows. You will not be sorry you visited. read more

We went on a Wednesday when it wasn't super nice out and the lavender was still amazingly beautiful despite the rain! The owners were so nice and helpful with us during our trip here and I can't wait to come back. I had quite a terrible experience with this place. First, we came on an overcast (but not rainy) day because I love lavender and just had to stop. The lady running the shop was less than pleasant (it was empty except for us) and told us tours were 8$ and we should COME BACK ANOTHER DAY. I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, and I browsed the shop. I ended up picking up some lavender oil, which I asked her if it was lavandin variety (I'm highly allergic to that strain) and she said it was not. The bottle was overpriced but I purchased it anyway. It seemed like an imposition to her that we were even there. The man that came through the shop putting stuff away was perfectly friendly and nice. Fast forward a few weeks, and I've been on massive allergy pills miserable with a rash and we finally narrow down that it's her lavender I've been using in my laundry that's caused such an issue for me. So essentially, I paid 10$ to poison myself. Will not be returning. I'll head to lavender hill farm on Vashon instead where I know they are friendly and knowledgeable about what they put in their oils. read more

Very disappointing. The "farm" is the backyard of a house (maybe 1/3 acre) and they charge $8 to even walk outside. Gift shop also is small crowded and extremely overpriced. Would not recommend. If you're looking for a lavender farm experience recommend making the trip to purple haze. read more

Don't waste your time going here. It's just a small backyard! She charged you to look or take pictures! Crazy!! She also was very rude. Go to Sequim wa ...they have several real lavender farms that are large and beautiful and they DO NOT charge you to walk through it or to take pictures. Only if your buying some lavender or something from their gift shops. They're also all super friendly! Go to Sequim for the true lavender farm experience. They're open all of July. read more

Lovely moment at the end of lavender season. Browsed the shop (the candle smells great in our house right now! and sachets in the closets make dressing up for work a bit more fun!). Had a leisurely conversation. Took some nice pictures of the bay from the garden. Thank you Suzanne for a great memory of this trip. read more
