You'll see a lot of imagery from weddings on her website, but she is great with capturing any moment. I wanted to take pictures with the husband in a casual and fun setting so Joahnna met us at Alum Rock Park at 8AM on a Saturday and she was bright eyed and bushy tailed (thanks for getting up so early!). I had been to Alum Rock myself and thought it was nice but of course I didn't have any plans for poses or anything (it's not like I was practicing at home....or was I??). She scanned the area for a couple of minutes and BAM, we were off and going in no time. Her energy was just really relaxed and fun....not to mention that the output was amazing!! Every photo came out great with the exception of some of the awesome faces I make when I pose for pictures.....but we can't really hold her responsible for that. All in all, a great experience and I would most definitely go back for more.

Looking at the website, I thought the pictures were beautiful- I love how the photographer caught special moments and thought this would be the best photography for our portraits. Johanna is an amazing photographer and made us feel really comfortable taking pictures. The way she had us pose felt very natural and she got beautiful shots of our family that really caught our spirit- exactly what I was hoping for! Another huge positive is that we got to take pictures in our home and at our neighborhood park. This really made our portrait experience meaningful. We had a great time taking pictures. Very professional, sweet, wonderful with people, especially children and pets…read more Janine, the owner of Weston Photography has been very generous in offering her services to various nonprofit organizations, including Furry Friends Rescue. She was kind enough to offer her services again recently to an animal rescue fundraiser (20% of her profits goes towards Furry Friends Rescue) on Saturday, Oct. 18. People lined up to get their pets' complimentary photo sitting taken and Janine couldn't have been more patient and gentle with the dogs. You could tell she really loves her work was extremely generous with her time. The dogs were very relaxed with her. My dog had his first sitting with Janine and he was pouncing, playing and just loved her. The photos were wonderful. Because it was for a charity event, she was limited on time--and she did so much in the brief time she was allowed for each pet. She took pictures of my dog with a black backdrop, in front of the lake, with him looking out at the lake, on the grass, table, etc.. I only wish we had more time so that we can have more action shots of him playing, romping, running, etc.. There was a really cute one of him yawning, looking up, etc.. Those are the kinds of pictures I love. I would love to have her take more photos of my dogs and my other rescues. She posted the pics of my dog on the gallery, but there were some missing due to limited space on the animal website. When I called her and asked about them, she sent me an email and kindly offered to put a separate album with ALL the pictures of my dog so that I can enjoy them. She never gave me a hard time or pressured me to buy anything, but I definitely will because her work is fabulous. She just offered out of the goodness of her heart. She's genuinely a very special person who is very dedicated to her job. She puts a lot of feeling into her work and it definitely shows in her photos. I plan on utizlizing her services again! She was a very professional yet personal photographer. She really tried to know you and what you want to personalize the photo sessions. Our engagement session was difficult as we wanted to include our puppy (who is very active), Sharen was so patient and helpful that we were able to get some super cute pictures with our puppy. All of our pictures came out very nice yet natural. Sharen is such a pleasure to work with and she makes the photo sessions fun even for people that are not super comfortable with photo shoot (eg. my parents). I have four kids (ranging from Kinder to middle school) so it's no easy feat to get them to all smile NATURALLY and laugh (not argue with each other). I photograph my own kids occasionally with my old Canon but the kids tend to turn and give me the obligatory smile. Sharen some how captures the children in such genuine and sweet moments that don't look have the hurry-up-and-take-my-picture-mom face and remind me why I love my kids. She gives you the digital copies which is great - as it tells me, that she's about capturing the moment - being the photographer, being the best at her craft - and not trying to make money on the printing. She is open to ideas and locations and is easy to work with. We have photos with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, beach, hills, and Stanford. All absolutely beautiful! The hill was just this great grassy area we drove upon while looking for another area but ended up being really awesome photos and the kids loved running around. We caught the sunset too so the location is not as significant . . . it's the people in the photos and what she captures that makes her photography so wonderful!

Overdue review alert. Kathy came to our home to capture photos of our new life as a family with our…read morethen 6-week-old baby girl. Before the shoot, Kathy was responsive by email and replied same day. She even rescheduled our first scheduled shoot at no charge because April showers. I also loved that there were no hidden fees with Kathy. Her website was clear cut with info as well. On the day of the shoot, Kathy was punctual and captured the most beautiful family photos in our tiny cottage. I was a little worried if our space was too small or not as photogenic but the photos looked great! Our baby cried most of the shoot (because, newborn) but Kathy remained calm and flexible to our needs (ie nursing, soothing, etc.). The 90 minutes flew by. Within a month, Kathy sent over about 100 high quality, edited and finished photos. I was expecting about 50!
