This is a laid back restaurant located in Cleburne Tx. Several items on their menu were great for me being on a diet ( tilapia fish ) The sandwiches looked good, sampler plate was looking great but their desserts made my mouth water... couldn't have it, my diet. Staff is very friendly and on their toes with service. There are outdoor tables with nice shading. I do recommend the Purple Turnip, I believe you will too.

Very tasty soup, salad, sandwich place. Cute and clean inside and the service was friendly and efficient. Ice tea was refilled appropriately and the food came out at the proper temperature. I had a spinach soup, chicken salad, and quiche combo. Good value for the money. Recommended.

Great little restaurant. Traveling companion and myself had a very nice lunch there. Plenty of food. Great service. Kinda on the tea room type vibe.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My husband and I host a foodie radio show and decided to have a date night to do "research" for a show. Walked in to no greeting. After several minutes a waitress told us to sit anywhere. Turns out she was the only waitress. There were 6 occupied tables. I ordered tea, and husband ordered water. The caprese salad was actually visually appealing and quite tasty. The rolls were ok. The tea was good, nice and strong. Hubby ordered the herb topped tilapia. I ordered the filet mignon cooked med well, more on the well side. The dishes came out. Everything looked ok. My plate had 5 baby carrots, a roasted whole potato, asparagus, the steak. The outside of the steak looked great, however, it was raw when I cut into it, and the bacon was raw as well. Hubby's plate had 4 baby carrots asparagus, and mashed potatoes and his fish. The waitress made herself scarce and never came back for me to send the steak back. The tasty tea was never refilled. My hubby never salts his food, had to pour salt on his potatoes to give them flavor. The asparagus was limp and lacking any flavor. Worst dining experience we've ever experienced. We will NOT go back. We did speak of the terrible experience on our show, but out of the kindness in our hearts, we didn't mention the name of the restaurant.

We enjoyed it. We…read morestopped here after a musical in Cleburne. The Breakroom is in a metal building. The hostess station is just inside the front entry with the bar near there too. The dining room is separated from the bar area. It has 10' side walls and open, high ceilings. There's a couple of TVs in the dining room and a couple of ceiling fans. There's HVAC vents hanging down and there are 2 mini splits. It's nearly 100F outside and it's comfortable enough (not real cool) in here. Our server, Penelope, was quite pleasant. She was able to answer our food questions and give us recommendations. They use handheld order taking devices. I like that. I had a Shiner Boch to start and my wife had a Margarita rocks - no salt. Both drinks came out lightning fast. My beer was nice and cold and her margarita was real tasty and not too sweet. For dinner, I ordered the smaller order of Fried Catfish with a side. I had Tots. The fish filet was large, thin-battered, crispy and hot. The tots side was huge, crispy, hot and tasty. A great fried food meal. Took some of it home too. My wife ordered the Street Tacos. She was able to eat 2 of the 3 and she enjoyed them. Their homemade salsa was good and it had some heat to it. We brought her 3rd taco home. Pricing was fair. Service was great and fast. Good tasted great. We'll be back to the Break Room.

The food is delicious and the beer is good (and cold!) and the waitresses check on you just the right amount of times.

oh-emm-gee.. this wasn't just bad.. this was like, "we're going to talk about this for years to…read morecome"-awful.. my wife's food was unidentifiable as being the dish she ordered, the owner or manager or whatever came over to argue with her about it when she sent it back. Then he told us it was the waitress's fault. My meal was only just terrible, but i could identify kind of what it was supposed to be, and i could clearly recognize the french fries. A couple at another table had chicken and waffles with way undercooked chicken.. Too bad, i wanted to like this place. I really like old school mom & pop diners a lot more than just another chain, and this place has the vibe i was after. I just should have brought food from somewhere else.

The establishment was Rail Road Theme with a train running the rail all around the ceiling of diner. I thought it was cool even at my age. I had the small chicken fried steak with salad and mashpotatoes. I ate it before I realized "NO PHOTOS" Were Taken. So sorry. But it was very tasty ! The ambiance was peaceful, the establishment was clean and everyone was attentive. The price for 3 people to eat was LOW !! Which pleased us. Check them out next time your in Cleburne or just looking for a good place to dine. They have been around since 1920.. that says alot ! Check them out, do a review so I can hear your comments.
