If I could give 0 stars I would! I have older parents and unfortunately one is very sick with cancer, so I have taken over their household responsibilities. Their refrigerator started leaking, making a weird noise, and icing up; the ice maker also stopped working a few months prior. I know that my parents have used Purcells in the past so I gave them a call. Steve came out and assured me that replacing the motherboard for over $300 dollars would fix my issue, he also reassured me that if issues persisted that he would come right back out. After agreeing to replace the motherboard as suggested, a few days after the same exact issues were still going on. Steve came back out twice more and brought a hair dryer in and defrosted the ice up and left, both times. Both of those visits were within a month of the initial visit. The problem was still never fixed. Several times we had to defrost with the hair dryer ourselves, but because of the intense chemo treatments my mother is on we are in Philadelphia more then we are at home some weeks, and don't always have the time to have repair men at the house. Not to mention the safety issue for her with the germs. After 2-3 months passed and the corona virus was being reported as getting better at the time, we then reached out to Purcells again to let them know that still the same issues are occurring and have never been resolved. Again, Steve came out with the hair dryer and did his defrosting process, but this time said that it was actually a defect with the fridge and that he was going to contact the manufacturer himself and try to get them to do something. We never heard back from him and since that last visit I have documented calling 6 times with speaking to Scott and 1 time to a woman who answered the phone. They both said that they could only take another message and get it to Steve. Steve NEVER returned any of those calls. After my 7th call, Steve finally called back and left a voicemail stating that there pretty much was nothing else that he could do for us and he didn't even bother to mention anything about if he even contacted the manufacturer or what they said, but I think it's safe to assume that was probably never done. I since have had 2 other companies out to get their opinion and both companies told me the same exact thing!! The motherboard never even needed to be replaced! Both companies stated that we were definitely ripped off. The first company that came out felt so bad that he didn't even charge us for coming out to look and to give us the second opinion. The second company fixed the correct part and our issues are now resolved and it was less then half of what Steve @ Purcells charged us. I did place another call to Purcells requesting a refund. Of course Scott told me that he will relay the message to Steve. Only after writing a google review did I get a call back from Steve and another long story short, NO REFUND and on top of it Steve threatened me that if I didn't take my review down within 24 hours that he was "coming after me"! Unfortunately my entire day was spent at University of Penn for moms cancer treatment but now I guess my July 4th weekend will begin at the police station and filing for small claims court. Don't even get involved. Mr Gees is the company that came to our rescue and I would highly recommend!! read more
