Let me tell you guys something- I walked in without knowing that this was a gluten free bakery and cafe, and I was apprehensive at first after finding out. Tell me why I was shocked at the quality of the bread and pastries. The gluten free bread I've had in the past was nowhere close to Pushkin's! Does it taste like bread? Yes. Does it have a bread like texture? Basically. Can it replace regular bread? No, but if I had to go gluten free the rest of my life I would be gosh darn happy to have Pushkin's. I got the Hammer Time sandwich, and it had fresh ingredients and was a great balance of sweet, savory, and salty. Who knew fig jam and pesto worked well together! The mudslide cookie definitely had a chew to it. It was very chewy and I could tell it was gluten free, but man did it taste good. The watermelon mint lemonade was refreshing and tangy. I would get less sweet next time. The only miss for me was the matcha latte. Im not sure what kind of matcha they use or the ratio they use. The matcha latte tasted more milky and I couldn't taste the matcha as much. Get the hammer time sandwich, get the summer special watermelon mint lemonade, get the mudslide cookie, and pass on the matcha. I will definitely be back. Staff was friendly, lots of sitting area, very clean, and loved the decor. What a nice surprise on a Sunday afternoon! read more

If you're looking for a lot of gluten free and vegan options, check out Pushkin's menu. They have the best bakery goods and breakfast items. They're Italian sodas are yummy as I had them put creme in it and their vegetable quiche is delicious. The salad that goes along with it was so refreshing. I'm so happy Pushkin came into our neighborhood, and I can't believe it took me this long to leave a review! This is the closest thing I'm going to get to my European pastries I am used to. I am actually not gluten intolerant, but something about the flower here in the US does not make my body happy. I enjoy the wide array of pastries that are on display here. This time I got the orange cardamom poundcake and it is delicious. It is nice and light and fluffy, not hard and dry like some other gluten-free pastries. The pastries are priced higher than you seen in other places. My loaf was $4.95 as was the little cupcake I got for my friend. Like I said, they have a huge selection. I saw a lot of more savory items too. That could probably make a nice lunch, but I always come for the sweets. We just went around 1 PM and the parking lot was pretty empty. Parking is ample and there's a cute little outside seating area, except you are right on Arden Way so... but there is plenty of seating inside. My wife loves this place! GF, grain free, dairy free options were available! We chose this bakery/cafe over the S street location bc the S street doesn't carry salads. Service here is prompt & informative. You will have to wait for them to prepare your salad to go though but it's not that long really. The crispy chicken salad has been my wife's favorite now! She also got to try their lemon bars & raspberry bar as well. They were TDF! She did also experienced their cute little grain free & gluten free breads! Wow that took her back to her childhood days of comfort food. Just ask her Mom. lol Love the ambience here. Don't let the outside unassuming strip mall deter you. I love that Pushkin's is moving its way to the suburbs. I love that they are able to make gluten-free food without compromising on quality, especially as someone who has several gluten-free people in my life who are not gluten-free by choice. There is an excellent drink selection, and my iced London Fog was delicious. All the pastries were good as well, and I was impressed with their selection of ice cream to choose from. One pastry I had was a daily special with fresh raspberries and raspberry jams in it. It was the end of the day when we went, but the bread and the jam still tasted fresh. Everyone was friendly and answered questions our group had and gave advice on what they enjoyed, which helped a lot in selecting from the many available options. read more

I found out Pushkin's opened near my work and we checked it out. I love that it's close by. I'll be coming here more often! Pros: I ordered a Cobb salad and wasn't impressed at first. I was hesitant since I noticed there was dates in the salad. But the dates with the goat cheese knocked this salad out of the park. I really enjoyed the mix of flavors and fell in love. Starting from a cozy little bakery downtown, filling a much needed niche for those who are vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerant, and gluten sensitive. Their production is not only geared around these needs but also tastes great for everyone. During their soft opening, I got their lemon bar, my all time favorite. Great balance of lemon curd to shortbread crust. When I asked about the Barracuda Cupcake, they said chocolate four ways... SOLD! If you're a chocoholic, get these. The third item I got was the Tiramisu Cupcake, it totally live up to its name. So excited that Pushkin's Bakery & Café opened a new location in Arden! I've been hearing amazing things about their vegan and vegetarian-friendly menu, so I had to stop by and try it out for the first time. I ordered an iced brown sugar latte with vanilla syrup and oat milk. The perfect drink for anyone who likes their coffee on the sweeter side. I also treated myself to a banana cream pie cupcake, and WOW... it was absolutely amazing! They offer such a wide variety of pastries, it was hard to choose. The space is super inviting with plenty of indoor seating for hanging out or working, plus a cute patio outside. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Only small downside is that they don't have Wi-Fi yet since they're still getting established but I'm hoping it'll be available on my next visit. SOOO happy to have a Pushkins closer to home! They have all the same great stuff as the other locations like baked goods, sandwiches, breakfast sando's and waffles. They also make great coffee and chia! Very friendly service and all of the staff were very knowledgeable and spent time walking new customers through their options. What an awesome little bakery and cafe. It is a really clean and inviting place. Plenty of inside seating as well as limited outdoor seating. The display case has a wonderful selection of sweet treats! I ordered the BLTA sandwich and a couple of Meyer Lemon Pound cakes. I also ordered the Zucchini bread and a Orange Cardamom Pound cake. I could have went crazy and tried a bunch of other treats but will wait until my next visit. I was really excited they opened a pushkins in the Arden area, I have family who have celiac and I really love Pushkin's variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes so this spot is perfect for so many dietary restrictions. I got the vegan po boy, the mushroom was fried to perfection, and the remoulade sauce was delicious and perfectly tangy, the lettuce and tomato were a perfect addition and the bread was nicely toasted. Always a pleasure to come here and have options for my son who has celiac. I didn't get pics but we had custom made breakfast sandwiches which is really cool that they do. We just did the basic sausage egg and cheese. They were delicious! My son also had a cinnamon bun, a marble cake and an oatmeal cream pie cookie. There hasn't been anything there that we haven't liked. Service is always 10/10. Very friendly and helpful. The vibe is kinda trendy hipster and works for this type of establishment. If I could give negative stars I would. I ordered a Peach Bellini Iced Tea & salted caramel coffee along with 2 pastries. The Bellini looked off putting when I received it and figured that's the way it looks? WRONG, it tasted like someone put pure tap water in my cup with a hint of peach, it was beyond gross. I wouldn't even give it to stray dog. The caramel coffee was even worse. Don't get me started on these revolting pastries WTF? What a waste of money. Besides the disgusting drinks, there were 5 employees behind the counter and yet I still had to wait super long and it wasn't even busy??? And to wait to get this?? Love that Pushkins is located in Arden-Arcade! It's easy to find and right off Arden Way between Fulton Ave and Morse Ave. Parking is easy, too! The bakery selection is fantastic for those looking for allergy free goods. Specifically gluten and dairy. I tried their Herbivore Sandwich, which was super delicious and a berry iced tea. The space is inviting and quaint. I ended up purchasing quite a few baked goods to try. I am obsessed with the Lemon Pound Cake Loaf. So moist and so lemony.
