I enjoyed my experience at Moonbelly. I arrived 5 minutes after they open and there was already a line. It moved fast and the people were friendly while taking your order. The pastries itself was pretty good! I got the tomato feta pastry, the cheddar broccoli with chili flakes pastry, strawberry blueberry peanut butter pastry, the cardamom bun and the chocolate croissant. My favorites were the cardamom bun which had a nice flakiness to it and had the perfect amount of cardamom flavor on top. The pastries with feeling I think would have been better if warmed up but I did not as I was too excited to try them. My brother did feel like strawberry blueberry pastry was a little burnt around the edges so it was not his favorite but he did like the filling. All in all I would definitely come back for that cardamom bun again!

Have been wanting to come here for years! And every time my sister and I want to visit, it's a weekday, when they are not open for business. We finally made it on a Saturday in the early afternoon after doing errands around the area. We made it around 12:30/1? There was still a long line that was almost out the door inside. Almost everything was out! It was the bare essentials of what was left. No more fun items to try, but still grateful that there was something to try. We ordered her favorite, chocolate croissant, brown butter almond cake, and a chocolate chip cookie. Everything was moist, soft and delicious! We can't wait to try to make it in the am at opening next time to try their fun items! They even have repacked cookies and jar jams for sale on the shelves. Lots of cute ceramics for purchase as well. So glad we made it once.

This place is currently my favorite bakery in Sac. One of the best banana bread I had. It's soft, moist, chunks of chocolate and turns out perfectly every single time I get it. I also had the cinnamon bun which was evenly coated with cinnamon sugar, very soft and fluffy in the inside. Tips: eat it the day of when it's fresh off the oven otherwise the next day will be a bit hard even after you reheat it.

Ever since my best friend moved to Sac, she's wanted us to come to Moonbelly. On my most recent trip to see her, we finally made it happen! So, expect a line lol! Cause we arrived in the morning on a weekend and there was one out the door. The line moves somewhat fast, though, but keep in mind that things sell out fast! Service was all smiles and efficient. Once you're inside, peruse the bakery case, order, pay, and be on your way! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have some picnic tables outside, or you can take it to go. We chose to take ours to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My best friend got a few pastries, and I enjoyed the Cardamom Bun and the Salty Sesame Croissant. The bun was super cardamom-forward, which I enjoyed, and I loved the savory nuttiness. Both pastries were flaky, buttery, and so soft. I enjoyed sampling my best friends pastries as well! I'm not too familiar with the bakery scene in Sac, but I do enjoy Moonbelly Bakery and would love to come back. The bakery is off Folsom Blvd. with free parking in their lot out front! Go early for all their offerings and indulge!

Moonbelly is one of my absolute favorite bakeries in the area. They're only open Friday through Sunday and they have different items available throughout the day. I suggest going right at opening for the best variety of breakfast items, and the best chance to get your favorites, however they do start serving sandwiches and some other items later in the day (Everything goes quickly though). They have a great variety of fresh baked items, including sweet and savory options. They have whole loaves of bread, cookies, croissants, rolls, and more. They also have items on the shelves like jars of jam, cookies, ceramics, candles, and pickled goods. My favorite item here is the garlic bun ($4.20). They're so flaky and delicious, with the perfect amount of savory garlic flavor. The chocolate chip shortbread cookies ($3.25) are in my top list as well, with just the right amount of sweetness, they go perfectly with tea or a cup of coffee. The Flourless Chocolate Cookies ($3.50) is unreal, so gooey and indulgent. Those are most of the regular items we try to get, but everything here is wonderful, and it's worth trying any new-to-you item you see. They also have coffee, hot chocolate, cold brew and a few other drink options and they're always so good. I ordered cold brew on my last visit and it was SO GOOD! The team here is so kind and they work super hard to get people through the line. They're always happy to answer questions and if the food doesn't put you in a good mood their cheerful smiles will. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's an outdoor area where you can enjoy your items right away, and they do have a parking lot, but finding parking can be tricky when they're busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Moonbelly is a locals favorite. They are open only on Friday-Sunday. There is always a line regardless of what time you go but it moves by fast. My favorite baked good here is their ham and egg which sells out by 9:30-10 so make sure you go early. Workers are always so nice and outgoing. They always have a different cold brew specials that's unique. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a seating area right outside to enjoy your pastries afterwards.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

So delicious, every item is worth trying and I don't easily say that. You can taste the quality difference which makes the price point worth it as well. I got a total of 11 items for a small gathering which came out to around $49 before tip; each item was a hit. Favorites were the ham and egg, flourless chocolate cookie and the cardamom buns.

Was looking for a new bakery spot to try in SAC and stumbled upon this gem. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You walk in and immediate get hit with a wonderful aroma of baked goods and spices.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So many savory choices to pick from, we got the following: PBJ (for you PB lovers, must get), garlic roll (if you love garlic also must get, a little oily. But fantastic), broccoli cheddar (solid, was hoping for a bit more cheddar forward) and the potato n ham (solid). The staff were very friendly and on point with their suggestions. Parking lot is small to keep that in mind and get here early there is a line. Add this to your Sac list.

This bakery is ran by an amazing woman who knows what delicious is! I cannot say enough good things about this place. The owner and the employees are fabulous humans who care about their customers and are always giving back to the community. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is always a line out the door, and its not hard to see why.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The products they sell are nothing short of culinary art. I recommend you try everything!! You will not be disappointed.

Always so delicious! The line is always long, come early if you can because they run out of things fast. I came here with my cousin and we got an array of items. The morning bun and shortbread cookie were the stars of the show! Can't wait to go back and get some more delicious pastries!

So unique and delicious! FOOD: My husband insisted we visit this place after having their cookies at a meeting. Boy did they live up to all of his hype! I got the shortbread chocolate chip cookie and it was AMAZING. I have never had anything like this. The texture is perfect and the chocolate is sweet but not too sweet!! SERVICE: The staff was very sweet! AMBIANCE: [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot is so charming...everything you would look for in a cute little bakery![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] OVERALL, will I be back? Ohhhh yes, I am planning my next visit as we speak. I want to try their sourdough next!

    It's so hard to decide!

Just went here for the first time. The line was out the door and down the side of the next building, but it went pretty fast. I tried the brown butter almond cake, the cardamom bun, the peanut butter and strawberry tart, and the flourless chocolate cookie. Everything was wonderful! I had a hard time deciding which was my favorite - probably the brown butter almond cake. Lucia, the owner, is also letting my Girl Scout troop come here to learn about owning a business, using local ingredients, and baking. This is a great community business!

Finally made it into Moonbelly. As I was pulling in a parking spot opened up, score! Waited outside the red dooe before there was space to enter. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its a small outfit, but gosh, their display case was amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Essentially, I left with a sampler of savory & sweet 9 items and a set of twists for$63.47. A bit pricy, but so worth it for the quality handmade artisanal breads and pastries. Also all the staff were super friendly and helpful, def. tip-worthy.

Lemon poppy seed morning bun, cinnamon morning bun, rhubarb and strawberry galette, and chocolate croissant.

When's the least busy day/time to go and still be able to get a variety of goodies?

Probably Friday mornings. But I've gone on Saturdays and Sundays and if you get there between 8-9 you'll have plenty to choose from!

Do you have sandwich rolls for subs?

Hi Linda. We do not make rolls.

    Do you have pumpkin pies?

We are not making pumpkin pies this year.

I set my pickup on a Sunday at 12 pm. There is a number to notify the bakery you're there for your pickup. Unfortunately, they were so slammed no one picked up and it went to vm. I couldn't go inside since I had my 1 year old asleep in the car. I parked near the front and knocked on the window. An employee saw me and gave me excellent and expeditious customer service! Respectful, kind, and appreciative for my business. I wish I got his name! He walked the cake all the way to my car and made sure I took a peak to see if my cake was correct. We ordered the Strawberry White Chocolate Mousse cake for my son's 18th birthday. Not super sweet even though white chocolate can be that way. The mousse was light and not too decadent. This cake is one to please many! We're still eating the leftovers 7 days later. As long as it's in an airtight container it'll taste just as amazing as the first day.

This fact was demonstrated by what we were offered to eat and drink. They gave me a tea bag! I've been trying to eradicate tea bags from my life because of the microplastics, so this was a major disappointment, but not the first! We were seated on the enclosed patio, not inside the restaurant, and it was during a heat wave. There were fans, but it was still uncomfortably hot. Also, for a bakery cafe, the food was surprisingly mediocre. Croissant = soso. Same for the sandwiches. Petit fours and macarons, inedible because of their sugary sweetness. Honestly, I think someone probably nipped over to Safeway to buy the macarons. The only reason I awarded three stars rather than two is because of the waitress. She was very attentive and super nice. I will not go back to Ettore's, nor will I buy their uninspired baked goods. And for those who enjoy afternoon tea, I recommend a dedicated tea room.

I decided to go for the chicken and mushroom congee. (rice porridge.). I also got a green onion hotdog roll to take home with me. To drink, I had a green tea with lemon. The congee was amazing. A rich complex flavor. It had a little bit of ginger in it, you could definitely taste the ginger, but it did not overwhelm the rest of the porridge. The chicken was good, and for the mushroom, they used black mushrooms, which have a deeper flavor than regular mushrooms. So very good. It looked like a small bowl, but I couldn't finish it. Some came home with me, and it reheated very well. It also came with Chinese donuts to put in the porridge. Chinese donuts are a little bit different. They definitely taste like a doughnut, except they are not sweet at all. They are savory donuts, and are perfect to use as a crouton, so to speak. The green tea was very good, and they didn't overdo it with the lemon, and that hotdog roll that I had later, the pastry was delicious with just a little bit of a "chew" to it, they were definitely high-quality hot dogs, and it wasn't just green onion. They had something mixed in, I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't taste raw like green onion can. Just a great lunch. I'll be back. Thanks.

My boyfriend and I finally had the time to come on a Monday (after the gym lol). We ordered a couple of items to try and I'll tell you I was full after a couple of bites and it carried me for the rest of day. We ordered jalapeño cheddar and classic sausage patty, egg, & cheese biscuit sandwich and biscuit 2 pack: blueberry and brown sugar biscuit. While picking up my boyfriend was recommended the cinnamon roll and he caved and got it! We had our pickup time at 7:30, but we showed up a little early and got our food around 7:20. There was a bit of a wait since there were some people ahead of us, so I'd recommend you going a bit earlier than your time just in case you're in a rush. We headed home to try everything. We really enjoyed the biscuits themselves as they didn't leave a dry or grainy feeling in your mouth. They had a good crust while being airy and light inside. The sandwiches were good, but they were anything crazy. Size wise it is small for the price you get, but I get it. It's all house made and fresh. We definitely think the biscuits themselves are the standout. The blueberry and brown sugar biscuits were a sweet tooth's heaven. The cinnamon roll wasn't too sweet either and had great texture and basically melted in your mouth. The very berry pastry was my favorite. The cream was light, fresh, and had just the right amount of sweetness, and the fruit on top tasted fresh and sweet. The hash brown bread with ham and cheese was very dense and filling, making it a great savory option. I loved the self-serve pastry setup and appreciated how large the bakery selection was. While some items looked a little fresher than others, there was still plenty to choose from, and everything we picked was delicious. The bakery itself was very clean with plenty of comfortable seating, and I noticed they even offer WiFi, making it a nice place to work, catch up with someone, or just enjoy a coffee.
