What a whimsical room! We just did Wonderland Revisited and it was so much fun. Really cute set design and props. Our only regret is that we weren't able to do it in person. Great variety of puzzles with a fun theme. Perfect for teams of 3-4. Puzzles were medium level difficulty. We also did Watson's Revenge which was full of clever puzzles, fun reveals and unique locks. Definitely have experienced players on your team as this one is pretty challenging. 4+ teammates is good for this one. Lastly, we did 13th Floor which was luckily not a scary room, just a slightly creepy theme. Really enjoyed the puzzles and riddles in this one as well as the interactive elements. 3-5 is good for this one. Puzzles are medium to hard difficulty. Rave reviews for the fun game master. The inventory/closeup system for the virtual/remote rooms were a bit tricky to juggle but allowed us to divide and conquer. read more

We went in a group of 5 with some first timers and some with some escape room experience - we are definitely coming back to do others! We came to do one, but the experience was pretty heavy for the group, and the great staff there let us change to a room that was better suited to our group, right on the fly! We ended up doing "King Arthur's Quest" and Sean, our gamemaster, did a great job at keeping us moving! A lot of fun and keep us occupied for an hour! We will definitely come back for other challenges! If you are thinking about coming, a word from the now-wise: pay heed to the challenge rating (PG, PG-13, etc.). And don't be afraid to ask questions about the challenge when you have your pre-meeting. If you are afraid of the dark - ASK! your gamemaster if the room is going to be dark. If you have to switch escape rooms based on your comfort factor, do it, you'll be glad you did. Thanks again Sean! read more

I've done a lot of escape rooms and this was definitely one of the best! We did the Thirteenth Floor and started out in an "elevator" in which the floor literally moves from under you. Nice touch! The rooms were decorated nicely and was difficult for just two people (but I CAN be done.... just not by us, lol). Next time I'm in the area I will definitely be going back! read more

My group found Puzzlescape's 'Return to Wonderland' a highly enjoyable escape room. While this was my first time visiting Puzzlescape you can tell they really care about creating a fun experience for their guests. The rooms were on theme and fun to explore, with pretty decent production value and surprises popping out at us as we went along. None of the puzzles were too difficult, though we did require a hint from time to time. Puzzlescape uses an infinite hint system where they will help you along or, if you prefer, more or less leave you alone. Escape room veterans should have a relatively easy (but fun) time in this particular room, but a group of newbies would probably struggle to get started. There is an easy version of this room which I'm sure makes for a great room for beginners. The three of us managed to compete the room on the more difficult setting with about 8 minutes to spare. While the room is large enough to hold more people, I would not recommend playing this room with more than 4 as it would become crowded and some team members would find themselves looking for something to do. Parking in downtown Hudson on a Sunday was easy and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby as well. We will definitely be going back to try their other rooms! read more

We did Watson's Revenge and it was all right. My group of friends and I have played ~20 escape rooms, and were joined by a woman who had played ~60 rooms. The Game Master (jokingly) told us before the game started that we should just stop and follow her lead. He seemed very excited about this woman's experience, and he kept cutting in and out of the game introduction to converse only with her about someone named PJ or JP. While we made it out of the room in good time, we very much felt like two disparate parties. The awkwardness of the team dynamic wasn't the Game Master's fault, of course, but he seemed to encouraged it. The puzzles were OK. Some I found less elegant and clever than others but there was some good stuff. The woman opted not to be in the group picture afterward, but we said we'd take one, so we got into place and...the Game Master went back to talking to her about New Orleans escape rooms for awhile before he seemed to realize we were waiting for him to take our picture. Again, not a dealbreaker, but kind of awkward he didn't wait until after he took our picture to talk to her considering he was the one who proposed a photo and the picture itself was quick to take. It's a nice building and apparently they're going to add more rooms. Also they have a really pleasant waiting room with free water and iced tea up the wazoo. read more

We just did this for the first time a group of 3 of us , we were joined with an additional group of 3 for the Watson's Revenge room. We had never done an escape room before so we were very excited to get started and see if we could indeed escape. The place was very easy to find and the lobby area was very nice and clean , they also had a little mini fridge with drinks and some candy out. All over the lobby area they also had fun little games to do while you were waiting, which I thought was cool and got you into the spirit of going into one of the rooms. Watson's Revenge was a very cool experience all the artifacts and setting of it looked authentic to the story line. We did get some hints as we went along but were ultimately able to escape. We had lots of fun and I think we will definitely be going back soon especially since they will be adding more rooms! Give it a try it's very fun! read more

My family and I have done multiple escape rooms and were surprised when they offered to give us unlimited clues. We soon discovered why they were so willing to give lots of clues: some of the tasks were unsolvable without help due to faulty materials. For example, we figured out that we needed to search for a clue and went to the right place. However, the clue was so badly worn that when the staff pointed it out afterwards,we remarked we couldn't see it, and she said that they probably did need to redo it! I feel like rooms should be solvable with 3 or fewer clues because all of the clues are properly maintained and you can read/solve them. We were really disappointed after leaving and still talk about how frustrating it was to have at least 2 clues that weren't what they were so poorly put together that we wasted over 15 minutes of time. read more

I heard great things about this place. I had booked a reservation for King Arthur's quest and had to cancel last minute. When I called to cancel the employee on the phone told me to email and I could reschedule. Unfortunately that misled me to believe that I was able to do so, only to find out that the cancellation policy prohibited refunds or rebooking. When I appealed as a Mom with sick kids out of the blue the reply from the company was condescending and unprofessional. From the company: "So your alternative is that I should both eat the $120 for your booking in a prime slot today, and then reschedule you to another time slot presumably on a weekend prime slot as well? Effectively losing $240 in revenue. If I conducted business this way, I would not be in business much longer. What happens when you cancel tickets you purchased for a show at the last minute? Or travel plans? But I understand that apparently rules must not apply to you. I will reimburse you half of your ticket cost as a courtesy." Note: after publishing my review the offer to reimburse half of the cost was revoked. "Based on your one star review that you just published, and your continued expectation that the rules don't apply to you because of your untenable status as a mom with sick kids, I will no longer be providing the partial courtesy refund." Bottom line, I'm sure it would have been great - but the if a company is willing to speak to customers like this then there are plenty of other escape rooms. read more

Took our 14 year old boy girl twins and 7 friends for their 14th birthday. They were to unfocused to solve the puzzle but still had a ton of fun. The staff was accommodating and the place was clean and well ran. They also let the little brothers (age 11) do a simple puzzle (10 boxes to open) in the hallway. They course solved theirs. To begin with, $30 per person for an hour is expensive. My daughter turned 13 and I per-booked for 7 girls. On the day of the party 1 couldn't make it at the last minute and another was sick. The no refund policy didn't sit well. My husband even asked for just a rain check for the 2 we couldn't use and was told in a not very nice way absolutely NO. We weren't trying to cancel the entire thing but life happens and there should be some accommodations made. During the experience the flashlight didn't work and it was a necessary prop to solving the room. At first the puzzle master tried to make me feel like we did something wrong. So I asked him to get the flashlight to work and after quite a bit of non-standard adjustments and about 3 minutes he finally got it to work but never said sorry.....we will give you a coupon....whatever. A huge prop we needed to solve the room was broken and there was no acknowledgment of that. Also, game pieces you collect to come up with a needed phone number are ridiculous. 3 or 4 of them are exactly the same length so you really can't solve the puzzle without luck. It's a cool puzzle idea but if the puzzle master has to tell you to switch 2 numbers because you can't actually tell which is shorter and which is longer something is wrong. Finally, there was 1 other group going when we finished up our game and no one was waiting in the lobby. It was a totally dead Saturday afternoon. The girls were 10 minutes away from solving the entire room. It would have been nice if they would have given them a little "bonus" time but all they wanted to do was get us out the door as quickly as possible. I have never felt so rushed as I did after that door opened to announce the game was over. The other puzzle rooms in Boston are better with MUCH better customer service. Don't spend the money! We were disappointed. read more

My friend and I have done a handful of escape rooms in the area and decided to give the "floor 13" room a try. It was clear from the beginning, so much care and effort went into the design of this room. The puzzles are interesting and thematically relevant. there are some great technical design elements of the room and this experience is much more than opening lockboxes. I highly recommend this escape room. It would make a great first escape room because it is a fantastic example of what an escape room can be. read more

Went there with 10 people from work and took on the Sherlock Holmes challenge. Good time, and we needed all 10 brains to figure it out.

In context, I have only done escape the rooms here (twice),and both times were quite enjoyable. Very challenging puzzles and the game master (GM) went at a nice pace both times to trickle out hints when you've been stuck or overlooked something for a decent amount of time. The details/design of the rooms are quite good too, but this is where they lost 1 star in my opinion. They have some AWESOME motorized/electric/magnetic contraptions that work well and lend a certain pizzazz and mystery to the rooms...BUT some of the smaller simple items are a bit battered and flimsy (e.g. keys and boxes). I definitely recommend the experience and particularly this place though! read more

My family and I (7 total) did the Speakeasy Dinner and Escape Room and we were not disappointed! The food at Less Than Greater Than was amazing. It was cooked to perfection with great flavor and presentation. AND THE DESSERT...to die for! We loved the drink pairings to each course as well. We were also not expecting any dinner "entertainment" but it made the entire experience tie in nicely. The escape room is difficult, yet exciting. Although we did not successfully escape, the room challenged us as a group and made for a great bonding activity. The staff brings out the spirit of this escape room and were extremely helpful (not just with clues) but also throughout the booking process. This is a wonderful gift option (you can purchase vouchers online) for a date night or could serve well as a girls night out. All in all, the experience is a bit expensive for less than 3 hours, but you truly get so much out of it! read more

I booked the Watson's Revenge room for after Christmas with my family, including two members who had never experienced an escape room before, and one member who only had one room under her belt. Initially, we arrived early and they mentioned that we could start since no one had booked the room before us, which was a nice surprise and ended up being kind of clutch due to the snafu I'll get to in a bit. I give 5 stars to the representative who gave us the orientation and was sprightly and very helpful throughout the course of our adventure and eventual hiccup. I'd probably dock another star if it weren't for him apologizing profusely. Anyways... Without spoiling anything for future escape artists, as we were finishing up the room, we kind of hit a brick wall and wondered why we were stalling. Lo-and-behold, the representative comes into the room and says that something wasn't functioning properly because one of the keys was missing to get us to the final phase. This basically meant we couldn't really solve the last few puzzles and escape. We kind of milled around for 10+ minutes while he tried to sort out the issue and fix things (not including the time we may have been running in circles while they were troubleshooting behind the scenes). The rep eventually gave us a few hints to keep things rolling and we did pseudo-"escape", but the way our final minutes played out was more like... Us: "Ok, so that means the puzzle answer is _____ ...?" ::looking around confused:: Rep: "Yup! You escaped!" Us: "Oh, ok, cool..." Like I mentioned, I had two members who had never done a room and they were really into solving the puzzles and everything at the start, but with the ending hashing out like it did, I think they were pretty deflated they weren't able to solve the last puzzle, complete a final action/task, and literally get out of the room cheering like most people are able to during their first room experience. Well, at least I was pretty deflated knowing this was how it ended up for them and, for that, I had to dock 2 stars. An additional star is docked for management not attempting to offer any sort of compensation for their own error. The rep was cool and helpful, so like I said, +1 star for that, and the puzzles were decently done. Still not the highest quality room I've experienced, but certainly worth a try. And honestly, maybe this was just a one-off mistake on their part, but I think responding to mistakes properly is also indicative of a business' management style and overall quality. read more

This place is pretty amazing!! I went last minute with my sister when her date canceled. It was just the two of us, and we had our own room. We took the room that was available for our time slot, and we were not disappointed. The room and it's clues and puzzles were very well thought out! This was no walk on the park like we thought it would be!!! We may have had to ask for some hints by the room monitor, but overall we had a great sense of accomplishment when we finally finished. (15 minutes late) It was also closing time and we were not rushed away at all. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. I cannot wait to try another room!!!! read more

My husband and I played our 60th escape room game at Puzzlescape. We had a really great time playing their Watson's Revenge room. We would put the room among some of the top that we've played. There were a variety of puzzles with some using really neat tech effects. The room design was also top notch. We enjoyed talking with the owner about the room, and he was extremely receptive to our feedback. When owners are willing to listen to player feedback that to me says that they truly care about making the experience the best it can be. Our group did The 13 Floor and had a great time! We're fairly inexperienced escape room players having only done a few other rooms, but this was the best so far! Lot's of attention to detail and clever design/puzzles making great use of technology. It was so much fun and we can't wait to come back to do another room. Another great thing is the location. Puzzlescape is right in the middle of downtown Hudson, MA which has very much been revitalized in recent years. First, I did not appreciate the surprise surcharge per ticket at check-out. We sat in the accommodating waiting area for 25 minutes before our escape room was ready, and once we were let it, it was very cold. We selected Pepe's Wild West room. As a group of experienced escape room participants, we found this room to be frustrating and overall a disappointing. At least two puzzles were not properly set up for the next group (us) after the last group, which wasted our time because they were basically unsolvable until the monitor came into the room and fixed the issues. IMO the mechanics of two other 'puzzles' make them almost impossible to complete. Pepe's Wild West was disappointing as far as escape rooms go. read more
