When I spoke to Harold, he explained everything to me and was very candid, which is great. He also recommended that I check the licensing of the other companies I had quotes from. It turns out none of them were actually licensed to remove asbestos popcorn ceilings. Anyways, Select Environmental did a great job and I know they did it correctly per all rules and regulations. I'm happy! I recommend them.

The experience from start to finish was a living nightmare…read more I was not made fully aware of what needed to happen in the way of prep (I went with this company because unlike the others they were able to accomodate not having to move all the furniture out). I felt rushed into a date that was 2 days away (otherwise I would have to wait until Feb, which at the time was 5 months later). I was told it would take two days at most (wed/thurs). On Thursday afternoon they called and said I couldnt get back in my house until Monday. I told them I needed clothes, etc, and was told if you want to sign something saying the asbestos may not be gone because we can't do the clearance test until Friday afternoon and results won't be in until Monsay then fine. I felt pigeoned into a very difficult decision, but they promised they'd always had negative test results. When I came home Thursday the workers had ripped off the ceiling fans and left them in piles on the deck, literally ripped my curtain tie backs out of the walls and left them lying around. The screens were out if the windows all jalopy as if they kicked them out. And the worst part, they used my brand new outdoor kitchen sink which had not been used yet to clean all the equipment, and it was scratched to hell. I sat there crying. That wasn't the worst. I went into the house and my 8-year old sons bed had popcorn ceiling all over it. They ripped the tape off so hard that it ripped the drywall off the side walls. I had $1800 in drywall repairs on the side walls (nearly every wall in every room) and staples were left everywhere- not one or two- more like 50. A few weeks ago the handyman was finally able to come reinstall the ceiling fans, low and behold, parts were missing. The cost to replace the parts was near as much as the fans, so I had to buy new fans. When I asked the company if they could see if the workers knew where they put the parts I was met with a balogney email about being out of the window for warranty and financial requests. The only reason I'm giving this company 2 stars is because the owner did work with me to recoup some of the cost. But I absolutely would not recommend them- not to a friend or an enemy. They were horrid.

From the very first interaction, Jessica went above and beyond to make sure I understood every detail of the process. She took the time to explain everything in a clear and thoughtful way, answering all my questions and addressing any concerns I had. Her communication was outstanding, and her kindness truly made me feel at ease throughout the entire experience. Jessica's attention to detail and professionalism set the tone for what I knew would be a great experience. When the crew came to my home, they carried that same level of excellence. They were incredibly professional, thorough, and respectful, making sure everything was done with care. I can't express how thankful I am for the entire team at Alliance Environmental, especially Jessica, for making this such a smooth, stress-free experience. My home feels safer and cleaner thanks to their hard work. I highly recommend them for any environmental services!

We know because they said they found it in a bathroom that had been added on 5 years prior by a licensed contractor. It had no asbestos but they assumed because the house was old, this would fly. They broke things, made a huge mess and caused secondary mold damage! I would never let them step foot in my home again and would caution others to do the same.

Imagine living in a place where the walls are so thin you can hear everything your neighbors do, like they were standing right next to you. Construction so poor the building makes noise just by crossing your legs while sitting in a chair. Even tiptoeing or whispering are amplified to the extreme that your neighbors can also hear it too. This problem did not exist before and I am not the only one whose quality of life has been severely degraded due to the unethical company.

The workers blamed their equipment. The insurance adjuster asked them to return and complete the work as specified. As the workers were emptying our attic, I noticed a toddler's rocking chair and mentioned it was a family heirloom. Moments after hearing my comment about the rocker, the worker put it on the refuse pile (I rescued it). Before WS&MR removed our home's contents, I scrambled to gather every irreplaceable family treasure and move it to our hotel, but I missed a few. The workers packed our home's contents and stored them in a warehouse 20 miles away. Months later, our possessions were returned. Unfortunately, many of the items were damaged and some were never returned. One item returned, an antique iron & brass bed (that had been powder-coated), was wrapped in a thin plastic wrap. The bed was leaning against the truck's interior wall (no blankets used). The plastic wrap and the bed's finish were scratched off as the bed scraped against the wall during the 20-mile trip. The workers also chipped corner edges off of wood tables (a desk and dining table) - a nearly impossible repair according to the cabinet maker I contacted. The workers also put multiple nicks and gouges on my dining room table. On a separate trip, my large rolling table with hairpin legs was loaded into a trailer. Then, the workers stacked full boxes on top of it. Upon arrival, they opened the trailer door and discovered that the hairpin legs had given way and the tabletop was broken - it was beyond repair. Worse than the damage to property was the loss of the irreplaceable. The cremated remains of our pets (kitty Moe and dog Maisey) were not returned. They were in cedar boxes (Moe's included a photo of him). I'm deeply saddened by this additional loss and sickened by the thought that they may have ended up in a landfill. We also can't replace missing antique daguerreotype photos (of family ancestors) in an antique hinged double-frame. This item has been passed down through the family since the Civil War. I've called Water, Smoke and Mold Removal many times. The office staff always told me that owner, Jason Kettlehut, wasn't there. Once, they assured me that he'd get back to me the next day. That never happened. Next, I sent a letter to Mr. Kettlehut - no response. Then, I gathered estimates for the furniture repairs and sent a certified letter to Mr. Kettlehut, including the list of damages and cost of repairs. I also listed all the precious items that were never returned. I received confirmation from USPS that my letter had been received. It's been 2-1/2 years and I still have not received a response from anyone at Water, Smoke and Mold Removal. Going through a house fire and being displaced for several months is devastating. The last thing anyone needs is to have someone add to your trauma by damaging and losing your possessions.
