I've used this company 3 times over the past 10 years and will no longer do so since my last…read moreexperience....first experience my home insurance company contacted this company for water damage in my home. The process was long but the company was pleasant. Second experience, same thing/water damage in my home and insurance company called them. That time it was quicker but the communication was horrible. They would pop up at random times with out notice to test the water moisture. Now, third time will be my last....had a sewer backup in the house, the County of Sac was responsible for it; so, they called this company to clean up my bathrooms from the overflow. The service was very quick that day with two people showing up. But my husband's Apple Watch disappeared after they left...My husband took off his watch and put it on our bedroom dressed dealing with the sewage mess initially. Not thinking we left his watch there while this company had two employees in our bedroom. A few hours after they left we could not find his watch so we tracked it and obviously someone had turned it off. Apples find my application, it indicated the last location was right outside our property fence where the company had parked. The company informed me they'll do an investigation which they contacted weeks later saying the trucks gps doesn't align with the location of the watch. Okay....live and learn on us to be watchful of belongings when strangers even with a reputable company are in your home. 2 stars for past experiences

My review is a few months late, but it pertains to the bad rain and wind storms we had early this…read moreyear. My delay in writing was me, having to endure one stressful thing after another. A medical emergency concerning my dad and 2 deaths in the family. It's been a hard year that started off with a tree falling into my dad's house during what seemed like gale force winds. My sister, brother in law and I rushed to his aid to get things started to protect the interior of the living room where the elderly Cypress tree crashed. After reporting the incident to AAA, they immediately took over getting his home insurance rolling into action. They contacted Restoration Management in a timely manner to begin the necessary procedures at protecting the roof and wall. Since a lot of rain water had entered inside, they began things by placing a machine to wick or evaporate the moisture for several days, while we placed tarps over the exterior openings. It can be hard to stay patient, because it takes many days to get the repairs completed. Which is understandable, but my dad is not very patient and hard of hearing, so he couldn't always comprehend everything that was going on. So it seemed like communication was sometimes lacking. The technicians explained very little about what was going on, and what the next steps would be, (or maybe he just didn't hear them). But it was sometimes hard to get a hold of the project manager when we had questions. Other than that minor issue, this business demonstrated expert knowledge on what was needed when it came to emergency procedures and repairs. We felt very confident placing our home completely in their hands. They did a great job at getting the house back to it's original vintage self.

Select Environmental recently removed some popcorn ceilings with asbestos from my house. I had…read morepreviously received a few other quotes. When I spoke to Harold, he explained everything to me and was very candid, which is great. He also recommended that I check the licensing of the other companies I had quotes from. It turns out none of them were actually licensed to remove asbestos popcorn ceilings. Anyways, Select Environmental did a great job and I know they did it correctly per all rules and regulations. I'm happy! I recommend them.

The experience from start to finish was a living nightmare…read more I was not made fully aware of what needed to happen in the way of prep (I went with this company because unlike the others they were able to accomodate not having to move all the furniture out). I felt rushed into a date that was 2 days away (otherwise I would have to wait until Feb, which at the time was 5 months later). I was told it would take two days at most (wed/thurs). On Thursday afternoon they called and said I couldnt get back in my house until Monday. I told them I needed clothes, etc, and was told if you want to sign something saying the asbestos may not be gone because we can't do the clearance test until Friday afternoon and results won't be in until Monsay then fine. I felt pigeoned into a very difficult decision, but they promised they'd always had negative test results. When I came home Thursday the workers had ripped off the ceiling fans and left them in piles on the deck, literally ripped my curtain tie backs out of the walls and left them lying around. The screens were out if the windows all jalopy as if they kicked them out. And the worst part, they used my brand new outdoor kitchen sink which had not been used yet to clean all the equipment, and it was scratched to hell. I sat there crying. That wasn't the worst. I went into the house and my 8-year old sons bed had popcorn ceiling all over it. They ripped the tape off so hard that it ripped the drywall off the side walls. I had $1800 in drywall repairs on the side walls (nearly every wall in every room) and staples were left everywhere- not one or two- more like 50. A few weeks ago the handyman was finally able to come reinstall the ceiling fans, low and behold, parts were missing. The cost to replace the parts was near as much as the fans, so I had to buy new fans. When I asked the company if they could see if the workers knew where they put the parts I was met with a balogney email about being out of the window for warranty and financial requests. The only reason I'm giving this company 2 stars is because the owner did work with me to recoup some of the cost. But I absolutely would not recommend them- not to a friend or an enemy. They were horrid.
