Since…read moreit wasn't peak season and it was also mid-week we were able to get a spot overlooking the pond and use the Passport America discount. The grounds were maintained really well. There are a lot of seasonal campers here but they all seem to take care of their spots. Expect to see a lot of golf carts zipping around but everyone was friendly enough. Our site was flat with both a gravel area as well as a grassy area with a tree. Although they pack a lot of campers into this RV park the site felt pretty spacious (what a nice change). It was nice to sit outside, watch the ducks and geese and enjoy the fountain in the middle of the pond. One note, if you do have a site near the pond be watchful of the geese poop. It's plentiful because that's just how geese are and it's probably impossible for the campground to stay on top of cleaning it up. The check in process was quick and the girl who checked us in was friendly. They also gave us a zip up pouch with face masks, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. Quite a nice touch during COVID! It seemed like during off peak, non-COVID times there was a lot to do at this resort. We saw miniature golf and some bouncy thing for the kids to play on. We were there to rest and lay our heads down for the night on our way to our destination so the current lack of activity was perfect for us. Lake Erie is right across the street though so we took a little walk in a local park and it was lovely. We wish we could have stayed another night because it was so nice. Hopefully we'll get the chance to return in the future.

In all of our camping…read moreexperiences, especially when staying for a holiday or special event, we have never encountered a campground that does not give current campers the first opportunity to rebook their same site for the following year before opening it up to someone else. When families make plans to return year after year for a particular holiday or event, having the opportunity to reserve the same site is something we've come to expect and appreciate at other campgrounds. Unfortunately, that was not the case here, and our site was made available without us being given the opportunity to rebook it first. It was extremely disappointing and definitely something we will take into consideration when making future camping plans. A simple priority rebooking period for current guests would go a long way toward encouraging returning campers and creating a better overall experience.

Owners Jodie and Don were really nice and accommodating- they were working hard to get the pool open as it was Memorial Day weekend. Nice little fishing pond out front and the kids and adults were all out there catching little blue gills. The park is only a 20 minute car ride to Presque Isle which is an awesome bike ride and there are lots of restaurants and pubs. There are lots of permanent residents but everyone was friendly. We took a day trip to Niagara Falls to do the Maid of the Mist- it's about two hours away. This is not a fancy park but I would highly recommend. We are a big rig hauling a trailer and it was easy in and out.

On our most recent overnight stay, we were one of only three occupied spaces in the entire campground. When we returned from a day out with our granddaughter, we found four large trailers filled with groups of adult men placed just feet from our camper. With dozens of empty spaces available, this placement was completely unnecessary and inconsiderate. The booking process specifically asks how many people will be on site, yet no effort was made to inform us that such large groups would be packed in so close. Each trailer,(not camper) contained at least five men, and the resulting noise and disruption ruined what should have been a quiet family stay. These men kept wondering around our campsite and occupying empty campsite picnic tables all around us due to the size of their group. When we voiced our concerns, the response from the office was unprofessional and dismissive -- essentially a "too bad, so sad" attitude. We felt so uncomfortable and unsafe that we packed up and left early. This complete lack of regard for guests' comfort and experience is unacceptable.

Detour is 6 miles in a roundabout way through sheep pastures, cow pastures, horse stables, random deer in fields, tandem horses / buggy driving on an unimproved road, lots of horse and cow "muffins", and a huge fallen branch of a tree that obstructed half the road. Once at the KOA, we were pleased w bathrooms (the flush factor was fabulous), tent sites, other amenities. One of the better KOAs on this trip.

As a koa VIP member I expected "yes" As that is the way I have been treated at koa across the country. I was surprised that a request to return the unopened plastic bagged wood bundle was refused. The answer surprised me even more. "Too much bother" I'll find another koa next time too much bother to come to this one where being a VIP member means nothing

Whoever built the stalls did not leave room between the toilet and door for people who have knees. The toilets themselves are very low and if you have any knee trouble, you may not be able to get up. Speaking of getting up, you need to hold the stall door open with one hand and no place to grab on to with the other hand. In other words, if you have a rig with facilities, it is awesome. If you don't; be prepared to suffer each time you use the facilities. Make sure to bring your phone so you can call for help. This is new ownership and they are super nice. If I had just one special request, it is to upgrade the bathrooms and make them handicap friendly and large enough to accommodate a person .

It was clean and ready for us when we arrived on Thursday.I Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the pool but it looked very inviting. We cooked, used the fire pit at night, even though the cabins are close it was quite at night to be able to sleep. It's was like staying in one of the tiny house that you see on TV! You have to bring your own linens, towels but I'm OK with that. There are pots, pans, coffee pot, toaster, plates, silverware so it all worked for us. I would stay here again and recommend it to others going to the area. Oh the only thing that was a challenge was the bathroom mirror! If your 6' or taller you'll be able to use it other wise bring a mirror! ; )
