I had to write this review. Plumbing Plus just left our house and I had such a good experience with…read morethem they deserve this review. I was very frustrated trying to find someone to repair our outside water hydrant because it required cutting through drywall in our basement to get to the water line. Another plumber had told us it was located in a different spot in the basement and recommended we just make it nonfunctional outside, which we did. For his visit (and inaccurate diagnosis with a camera--I do think this other plumber was well-intentioned he just didn't know what he was talking about) he charged us $100 and told us if we decided to fix it by cutting through drywall it would cost $698. I didn't go with him because he said he couldn't be responsible for any structural damage if it occurred (He thought he had to go through a joist.) Based on this information, I told Plumbing Plus the situation and over the phone they bid $280 to fix it. This morning they came out and found that the faucet access was in a different spot. They found exactly where it was and cut through the drywall in that spot., fixed it in less time (probably 30 minutes or so) and only charged me $135. Prior to this, they also sent me proof of licensure and insurance. They said they'd be here at 8 am and they were actually here exactly at 8 am. I've never had that happen. I'm so thrilled because I find it so hard to find honest contractors who know what they are doing. These guys do. The plumber's name was Mark Chadwick. Thank you, thank you!!! By the way, you'll need to find someone else to fix the drywall. Plumbers don't do this, but at least now you know who to call for your plumbing.

Updating this review to share that the sump pump installed by Bright Side last year failed at the…read moreworst moment during a torrential downpour while my husband was out of town (enter facepalm here). I was convinced it was broken and called Bright Side once I had the flooding under control in the basement. I can't understate how impressed I was with them from the phone call to the plumber showing up later that afternoon. First of all the person on the phone was so kind, told me I was still under warranty, and assured me that they'd have someone out that day to take a look and fix it. The plumber arrived on time, listed to my whole sad story about the basement and the pump, and figured out the issue within a few minutes. He fixed the pump, assured me it should last a long time with the fix, took a look at our other pump, talked me through what had happened, sent me some estimates on things we could do to improve our set up, and was out the door within a reasonable amount of time. The things I loved was how low pressure it all was and how friendly he was. Other plumbers would have upsold me and likely made me feel pressure to purchase something else. I really appreciated that they came out day of, stood by their warranty with no questions, fixed it, and was honest about the situation, giving us options but no hard sell. This is the kind of service that will keep us as customers. It's always hard to know if a company is good after one visit, but this being our second, and on a call when something bad had happened I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. This appears to be a very good locally run business, and they'll have us as customers for the foreseeable future.

I had Ace's Drain Cleaning Plus come out to take care of two clogged drains - a basement floor…read moredrain and a bathtub. Ace himself showed up and spent about 2 hours taking care of my issues. He made a fair quote, stuck to it, took his time to determine the true cause and walked me through every step. Ace not only was pleasant to spend a couple of hours shadowing but encouraged me to watch and gave me tips for future problem prevention. He told me horror stories of how other companies could use their knowledge against unsuspecting home-owners for unscrupulous gain. Very refreshing to have a genuinely nice person that I could feel secure in trusting and was very affordable. I will be calling Ace for all future plumbing needs.

On one service call, the work was concerning enough that I asked more than once whether the technician was actually a licensed plumber. One technician inspected a sewer line and told me it was broken. Another technician later inspected the same line and said it had a "clean bill of health." Despite identifying two issues, the written report I received was only one sentence long. I had to call and ask whether one-sentence reports were now standard practice before I was promised a more detailed report. I should not have had to request basic documentation for a line with known concerns. On another job, a technician identified the sewer as a shared or common line. After obtaining a second opinion, I was told there was no apparent reason anyone would have reached that conclusion. The company's prices have increased, while the quality, consistency, and professionalism of the service I received have declined dramatically. Based on these experiences, I can no longer recommend this company.
