Pyro's is good for build your own pizzas and salads. I do expect a little extra toppings, nothing crazy just a tadbit more and then I remember it's not Burger King and I can't have it my way. I love salads but like more lettuce than toppings so I asked for extra lettuce and was given a pinch extra of shredded lettuce. I asked for a little more and was told I couldn't because of the toppings. I moved on to the pizza. Same, I asked for cheese all over the pizza yet she kept it heavy on one end. Very disappointing visit so doubt I will return in 2026. I had to asked for glove change after server went to look for togo containers in the back. The toppings are not even hot for a pizza I watched them take out the oven. Hopefully its just this location. read more

Generally Pyros is slower than Mod's, Pieology, and other individual size pizza places. At 3 to 5x the wait time per person versus any other build to order restaurant (ie Subway), Pyro's is rarely a 'quick bite'. With that understood, the Ridgeway location is also the most disorganized. 1.) They are seemingly never ready for the rush period. If lunch averages at 200 pizzas on a 'normal' Sunday or Thursday, then plan and prep 220 so there's no need for a line person to spend time squashing and portioning dough. Have 250 plates clean and ready and all else stocked. 2.) The 'six buzzers for six people at the same table' doesn't help anyone locate orders. The last pizza is commonly delivered 15 to 25 minutes after the first, even though they were put in the oven with only about a 10 minute separation. In parallel, the 1st to last pizza is out of the oven approx 10 min apart, so the 25 minutes involves sitting at the SA counter getting cold. It seems this occurs in part because there are so many remakes. The remakes seem to be because no one knows what a Spud or Breakfast pizza does and does not have on it, so any mods will double the confusion. Recipe cheat sheets + looking and asking the customer vs. requiring the first employee to repeat 'no peppers'. 3.) why are orders delivered, "Breakfast without bacon" instead of using the name given when building the order? It seems that's a parallel symptom of whatever problem prompts, "are you waiting for anything else?" When only 2 of 6 people have food. AT LEAST they ASK - which is why 3 stars instead of 2. Bottom line - This location seems to be at the top of the death spiral. Under trained & under resourced -decrease in customer loyalty - decreased sales - less money to hire, train, and provide needed hardware (ie plates) - decrease in customers - another drop in sales...and round and round. Too bad because the location is convenient. read more

Walked in place was empty. Thought oh we can get our food quick. Took 5 minutes to even be seen by the workers and another 5 to get through the line. Was not asked if I wanted my receipt and received no order tracker. I bought a pineapple pie along my pizza and they didn't even put it to order. I had to ask 20 minutes later and they hadn't even put it in the oven. Workers blamed each other and didn't even make it. Had to walk up again and ask for it. Worst Pyros in Memphis. I really enjoyed coming here. There were a lot of cool options and I really enjoyed this place. Hubby loved his pizza with spicy marinara, pepperjack, roasted chicken, pulled pork, steak, and cajun chicken! It's expensive with all those meats but it was good! I ordered food for pick up, because going to places like this overwhelm me - if someone is standing behind me waiting to order. There are so many topping choices, so being able to look at the options as long as I need online vs standing in line really helps! I love that this place is one price for as many toppings as you want. Its awesome! I also go crazy and put everything and the kitchen sink on it. Honestly, Its hard to stop. Everything sounds good! My pizza was really tasty, a little overcooked and crispy, but not bad. The size was more than plenty. Its bigger than a personal pan, but not as filling since it is thin crust. First timer: walked in after getting my hair done next door. It was after lunch.No one greeted me and there was no one behind the bar area. I didn't know where to go or what to do so I went to the cashier who was standing mid pizza oven in the back of the "restaurant". There were 4 employees standing around. There were 2 customers at a table and 1 at the cashier. There were 2 guests at the beverage area talking. I finally asked one of the cooks behind the sneeze guard what I was supposed to do to order a few pizzas, a Pyzone and a glass of wine while I waited. He told me I'd have to order the Pyzone online as it is only an online and catering item. He said I needed to order the pizzas on the line and the wine at the bar. His smaller friend turned his back to me and whispered something to him & was clearly talking about me. I told them both, "I'm a newby- this is my first time at a PYRO'S. I then asked if I could order the pizzas online as I already had them in my cart, but had hoped to drink a few glasses of wine while I waited. The taller guy who was kind, said to go ahead & order on line and he would have someone go to the bar and take my wine order. I went to the bar and was trying to order online but it wasn't easy. No one came to the bar. I waited longer. No one mar. ( I believe there was a very short manager in premise because I saw him playing with to go boxes at the beverage station. Finally the guy who had Ben speaking to me, said I should download the app as it is easier. I said I had used their website and the " order online" button but it wasn't working easily. I asked what the house wine was because it was "Wine Wednesday" & there was a discount. He named off a few wines and I asked if there was a merlot or a red blend. He said, " no, but there is a Cabernet". I said that would be fine. He proceeded to ring up the wine and the whole time I was still struggling to put the order in. I asked if he could put the order in for me while he was ringing in the wine. He said, "No, the order has to come in at the cashier and this bar POS doesn't go there". At that time he told me the Cabernet was $9.00 not the $2.50 special price. I was so frustrated I just said okay, let's move on; I need to get these pizzas ordered. I finally got the online website order placed & had to pay at the same place 2x. ( inconvenience).The young man who was answering my question, & came to the bar to serve me explained about the app. He was very nice and accommodating. ( Young male, about 5'8" , 22-25 years old, 175# short black curly hair and wearing uniform.) The woman behind the POS and the young man standing around ( female, about 5'9", 150#, dread/braids-up, about 18-23. 2nd male cook was about 5'4", long braided hair, about 18-20 in uniform) were both behind cook counter & he was eyeing me and clearly talking about me. This is the second time I tried ordering here the first time I called and ordered for curbside pick up I had cash only. When I got there I called them once I got into the parking spot and they said I had to come in. I said I ordered curbside.. she said I am sorry we have your order ready, but you can only order curbside if you order online. I explained I have an infant in the car and cannot come in. I left I was pissed. So I just ordered AGAIN I tried their online site but it was glitching and not allowing me to order a pesto base instead of marinara. Could I please just order over the phone for curbside and pay over the phone. After calling three times and speaking with the manager Demarcus no they couldn't do that. Now I was stabbed in my hand when I was mugged. So I can use my left hand. I have a sleeping baby in the back seat I cannot come in. I called a family member in Florida to see if their computer could do it right. She was able to order on the computer with no issues. I have now been waiting an hour for my pizza at curbside. I ordered 15 mins before I got here. Waited 24 mins after saying I was here online and called letting them know I have been waiting outside for almost half an hour.. 36 mins after arriving a young black female being out a pizza opens it and asks me if it is right. I said I ordered the meatless pizza with a pesto base. She said "yeah that's what this is" I said where is the meatless sausage?" Oh we will fix it and get your other pizza I have waited over an hour to get my pizza. They didn't say sorry they didn't say shit. This place is brand by children who have absolutely no idea what they're doing. To add insult to injury. They still brought out the same messed up pizza. They just put a bunch of raw spinach on top and meatless sausage to cover it up. I meannnnnnn...I love PYRO'S! Any place that lets you be you and put whatever you want on your food is a winner in my book! I've been to PYRO'S several times over the past couple of years! I think it's a great concept. There are a whole lot of toppings to choose from. You literally build whatever type of pizza you want. The same goes for your salad, if you choose to order one. They also have several specialty pizzas/salads you can choose from that already have set ingredients, if you don't want to build your own! Let's not forget about dessert! I love their sweet bites! My neice wanted wood fired pizza so we found this place while in Memphis for a soccer tournament. It is very similar to Blaze Pizza concepts that I have tried while in California. Basically you choose your size pizza. Next choose your sauce. Then add your toppings. There was no skimping on toppings and if I wanted more of something they were happy to oblige. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and polite. Our pizza was delivered to the table. The one minor issues is one of our four pizzas took longer even though it was the second out of four to be made. Overall I really like the concept. Fresh, healthy, GOOD! I love this place. Every time I go I am pleased. The staff is super friendly and prompt and the food is always cooked fresh to order. If you go during lunch...BEWARE there is a long line waiting ahead, but it is worth the wait if you have the time. So, where do we begin.....the food despite being left outside out door long enough to be cold was delicious. So, we suggest you pick it up or dine in. Avoid GrubHub entirely because it will take forever and no one like cold pizza (unless you're hungover on a Saturday morning and have a cold Coca Cola in hand). My favorite part of the pizzas were the crust! The pesto sauce was really good too. At first sight, the pizzas looked as if they would taste amazing. The toppings were okay by themselves. I don't think the oven alone will marinate all the tops together. I think they need some seasonings or a better way of bringing everything together. I could barely tell or taste the chicken on the pizza. It was more like crumbs than a good piece of chicken. Lastly, they need individual spoons for each topping. On the plus side, there was spicy sauce (spicier than I thought it would be) and roasted garlic, which are two of my favorites. You could choose the type of cheese, too. I had the cheddar/mozzarella mix and had them put some feta on the top. On top of the pizza, they have a Coca Cola Freestyle machine so you can tailor your fountain drink the same way you tailor your pizza. On the down side, the staff seemed rather impatient. Being my first time there, I needed to look at each of their toppings to decide what I wanted but right after I chose something, I was asked, "Is that all?" Their pizzas are okay, main complaint is about the employees, they are trash. If you advertise yourself as a place that sells beer and wine don't look at the costumer like they are crazy when they ask for some. We basically got told it would be too much of an inconvenience for someone to go over to the tap and pour us a beer, so we didn't get any. That's fine, we sat down and enjoyed our pizzas. But when we each had a half of a pizza to take home, aka an entire pizza, we were told we could only use their styrofoam Togo containers...make it make sense that when people order Togo pizzas they get a pizza box but when I dine in and have an entire pizza to take home they refuse to give me one. Pizza is good for the subway style pizza that it is. I ordered their award winning pulled pork bbq pizza thinking no way a build your own pizza could be worth an award. It definitely was! I'm not usually one for leftovers but it was so good i went back to finish it off the next day. My only gripe with this place is it's supposed to be quick however it took forever for them to cook and box the pizza.
