I stopped by this place every time I visit Bowling Green. This is your perfect, every day breakfast joint. They have an extensive, and delicious array of bagels for sandwiches or with cream cheese. They also have an awesome seasonal coffee menu. There's definitely something for everyone here! The food comes very quickly, and it's a pretty large building so there's lots of room for seating and hanging out while you enjoy breakfast. This place was amazing. My daughter got a croissant sandwich with egg, cheese, and sausage I ordered a bagel with lox and being from New York ,It was perfect and right on. I also bought half a dozen homemade bagels they look and they taste delicious. They had some good flavors like spinach, garlic things you don't really see in other places. My daughter ordered a 16 ounce caramel macchiato cold and I ordered a 16 ounce latte, brown sugar and cinnamon. When you walk in, it's a little confusing if you've never been there like where do I order? What's this booth up here for? Can I sit anywhere. But we figured it out. We ordered our food, and the gentleman told me that the coffee girl when you first walked in would yell out our name for our coffees, and the food would be brought to our table . We must've been sitting like two minutes, and the barista yelled out our name. The coffees? they were nothing to write home about. I didn't taste any brown sugar or cinnamon until I got to the end of my coffee and I even stirred it , my daughter said hers tasted bitter she then stirred hers up and said it tasted a little bit better. As far as coffee goes I'm not real sure if the barista was having an off day or if their coffee just tastes like crap because I've had coffees at Spencer's, Starbucks, and many of the other coffee places in Bowling Green. I wanted to love this place so bad...I'm from the Northwest, and a former barista trainer and cafe manager, steeped in Seattle coffee madness, so if I go off the rails a bit, that's just the old passion coming to fore. Kentucky might as well be the moon for me, when I'm looking for a latte. But here I am. Q should be everything I'm looking for: independent, fun, hip, with fresh baked goods and savory options. But they fall short at nearly every turn. Over-steamed milk, inconsistent shots, over-sweet drinks served with no milk foam...if I wanted that, I would just microwave the milk! Why steam it? Because you want that velvety foam on top! People... The food suffers equally from a lack of careful execution, and in ways that are actually costing them money. The scones are over-worked into shortcake, not delicate and crumbly but chewy, with clumps of fruit soaking through. The lox bagel had nearly a full half-cup of cream cheese, and two tablespoons of capers, and a full slice of raw white onion. The lox was a knotted clump in the middle. This is such a waste, impossible to eat without a giant mess, and not very tasty. The cream cheese should be an even schmear (about 1/8 inch thick), dotted with capers. The onion should be sparsely applied, red (or shallot, thinly sliced) and quick-pickled in a little vinegar, water, sugar and salt. Ideally, a little dill and lemon as well, but I know: Kentucky. That's too many steps. Whatever. Not my monkeys, not my circus, and as far as I can tell folks around here are somewhat allergic to good food and things done well. If they can't slap it together in five seconds with little or no thought, it may not happen at all. The service is heavy-sigh, eye-rolling gen-z, so don't you dare ask for better, or you'll probably get labeled a boomer or a jerk. The ultimate baseline for any cafe is that they need to be better than Starbucks: Fail. Not recommended. read more

I was staying in a hotel with my family on our way down to Florida. We woke up and had an craving for bagels. I whipped out my phone and found this nice place down the road, little did I know the great restaurant that awaited us. Walking in we were greeted with an open atmosphere and lots of great people with delicious food. We ordered 4 lox bagels and sat down to wait. We waiting we were approached by a kind man named Jim who worked at the store and assured us that the bagels were made New York Style with the dough boiled before they were cooked which was what made their bagels different from nearby competition. Our food showed up a few minutes after and was very good. We ate it all and a mini cinnamon roll dessert which was delicious. I would recommend this store if you want a nice cup of coffee or a great bagel. read more

After passing this location many times in favor of a chain location just down the road, I was able to stop by here just before the Covid-19 situation shut the dining area (the drive-thru IS still open). The inside, as mentioned by others is a former auto repair store which divides the sitting areas making it feel a bit more quaint. The variety of drinks is quite nice, along with light fare food choices. The iced latte that I ordered was quite good I will admit, although placing the order and filling it seemed to be a bit haphazard. The oatmeal cookie was good... not overpoweringly great, but good. I look forward to returning when the dining area/patio has been reopened, but for now the drive thru will work and again, the lattes really are quite good. read more

It should be noted I'm from Nashville where there's a surplus of bougie coffee shops. The matcha was below average. My husband took one sip and threw it away. I ordered a blueberry bagel and a vanilla latte. The latte was average. I drank it all because ugh ... caffeine dependency. Super duper sugary. I got home and my bagel was an everything bagel, the kind with the onions on it. It was fine, but not what I wanted. I had been curious about Q for a couple of weeks after a bit of hype before it's opening due to their conversion of a former auto repair garage into a restaurant and coffee house. After noticing a sign stating they were open as I drove by one afternoon I decided to stop in for breakfast before a drive to Illinois the next morning. I was a bit thrown off at first due to the entrance being in the back but it makes sense as that is where the majority of the parking is. The first thing you notice is how nice of a job they did converting a 50+ year old garage into a restaurant. The ambiance is nice, dark walls, black and white pictures hanging on the walls and calming music over the sound system. There is a sign directing you where to go to stand in line but once I was in line the first issue surfaced: No visible menu. The only menus are card-stock to-go menus which wasn't convenient with as few as three people in line. There is also only one register which I can foresee being an issue as it gets later in the morning and more people come to check out the restaurant. After looking the menu over and waited to order it, the behind the counter action was a little hectic and cluttered (for lack of a better word) with six people trying to be in a space more suited for three or four but since the girl at the register seemed to be in training I assume that it will not normally be like that. Keep in mind there were only three people in line. As I stepped up to the register to order, the poor girl (trainee) stared at me like a deer in headlights before I was greeted by the guy standing over her shoulder training her. They didn't suggest anything nor were they very personable which I hated because this combined with with everyone running around behind the counter made it feel more like a chain than a locally owned business trying to get its start. Sadly, their breakfast options were a little limited (which I would imagine they are going more for a coffee house/bakery than a full blown restaurant) so I ordered a sausage and egg croissant and a 16oz Mocha. Both items came out very quickly. The sandwich was served with cheddar cheese which while I didn't ask for it was easily removed, and the coffee come in a plain white paper to-go cup with their branded sleeve. The croissant was tasty and hit the spot at 5:30 in the morning but did nothing to stand out and was a little pricey for what I got. Granted I'm not much of a coffee person so take this with a grain of salt, the mocha was a solid choice and I enjoyed the much needed caffeine before my drive but it too didn't stand out from any other coffee shop in town. I really want to give Q more than 3 stars (I initially gave it 4) I just can't justify more. While the minor annoyances can easily be chalked up to it being a new business and I'm curious how longer lines will be handled when it gets busier, all in all, it was an enjoyable, albeit cookie-cutter experience. With so many great local options with similar and often better food and prices, they really need something to set them apart to keep me coming back and while there may be something none of the employees suggested it. I would recommend checking it out if you want a nice calm spot to start your day with some solid food options but don't expect anything mind blowing. read more

We have been traveling from Washington headed to Tennessee. This is the best coffee/lunch spot we hit so far!! I have chi tea latte every morning and my sister has a white chocolate mocha every morning. She has had several that were to nasty to drink. Mine have been less than flavorful. Today Q coffee changed that!! I had the 24 oz latte, it was the most flavorful drink I have had in two weeks of travel. My sister loved her mocha, so much so she made me take a drink. Q's bagels are always good- however - and this has happened multiple times when I go early in the morning, if you get one before like, 10am, it is the most incredible bagel arguably in the south. It's pretty obvious how popular Q is...every morning was packed when we arrived. They have a pretty nice setup with inside and outside seating. Plenty of space if you want to sit and ease into your morning. The coffee is pretty good and the bakery...well, it ain't so bad either. Bagels everywhere! And croissants. And muffins. And cinnamon rolls. We had a killer croissant, muffin and cinnamon roll, woah. On separate mornings, yeah of course. And if you like cream cheese spread, they must have it in 50 gallon drums because they slather it like nobody's business. Parking lot is a little confusing and could use some work. Ordered two hot apple ciders and one ice water. Took 7-10 minutes to even get to the window in the drive thru. Then they only had one cider and a water rang up so we had to pull forward and wait another 2-3 minutes. We'll probably just go to Starbuck's next time. Space- very nice. Love the different sections and spaces depending on how many you have and how long you want to stay. Lots of parking! Solid black coffee and good lattes. If you get flavored coffee, especially a mixture of flavors, make sure you ask how many pumps of each syrup - they can go overboard. Pastries and baked goods- I've had the vanilla scone and pumpkin bread. Both very tasty. Imported high quality ingredients. Excited to take friends and family here to sample! Chicken salad is amazing. The coffee. Forget Starbucks. Bagels are great, and the cream cheese is delicious. They have alternative options to dairy which is good too. I am always hesitant to review a newly opened business as I hate to judge the first growing pains and new employees that are just learning, but I can't wait to put in my 2 cents!! Everything I've had.. including the commuter special, an everything bagel with spinach artichoke cream cheese and a bacon cheddar scone have been great! I am a coffee lover and my choice is a light blend, so many independent coffee shops don't offer it.. Q does. They have a wonderful mellow Brunch blend.
