I usually go to a different nail place but they're closed on Sunday so I went to Q Nails, even though I didn't like their service. I walked in and asked for a FULL SET. I looked at the price list and it said full set $27.00/37.00. I sat down and it took 30 mins to get the acrylic off between soaking in acetone (bad) and using the dremel. She burned my nail bed because the dremel got too hot. A few minutes later the owner came over and they talked in a different language. Then she said, "you don't need full set". The tech started to put acrylic on my nails fore tips and I said I wanted tips. She said "no I do acrylic". Well, she DID acrylic and my naiks are wide and fat. Look so bad. I was annoyed and asked what I owed and she said, $57.00!!!! I said it was 27.00-37.00. no...had to take acrylic off..I said you CHARGE for that??? Then the owner said, "you had shellac". She knew I was mad. She reduced it to $52.00. I paid it but I'm NOT happy and I will not go back! I get exactly what I ask for at DESIGNER NAILS and my nails always look great...for $35.00!!!!!! I got my nails done the Thursday before Thanksgiving. I was a walk in. I was greeted promptly and a recommendation was made on what to do with my nails as they were in bad shape. I knew they were in bad shape which is why I went. The weather was bad that day and the technician who would do my nails was running late. I was offered a drink and the information that it might be 20 minutes before she arrived. I was fine with that. My technician arrived at right at that 20 minute mark and got me going right away! I had a full acrylic set done with my selected color and I could not believe how wonderful my nails looked!!! I was done in less than 40 minutes and the price was very reasonable. I am so impressed. Today is 2 weeks since I was there and my nails still look fabulous. I am planning to return today to get a new color for Christmas time and because they are too long and I'm having trouble typing - LOL! My tech did check with me and at that time I liked the length so my error not hers! They still look gorgeous and I probably could wait another week before actually needing them done! They did an amazing job, and I'm honestly shocked they don't have 5 stars. I showed her a Pinterest photo and she matched it to perfection. She took the time to mix dip powder to match that base color so my nail tips wouldn't show threw and I could have just that pretty little thin lined French she painted with gel on top !!! She used chisel dip color 19 & 60. They are honestly so good. I used to go to designer nail and literally Q nails is 1/2 the price and they don't double book so you're not stuck waiting for an hour or having your feet prune up while your feet soak. They are very considerate and pay attention to you and really listen to what you need. I had the best experience here with very talented nail. Hello! I have gone to Q Nail on and off for several years. I have always found that their service was nice. I stopped going to them for a while and just recently came back. I went to a different nail salon in Longmont and had an awful experience with dip powder. The faux nail created by the powder was cracking and lifting after a literally day one! I had to have three nails replaced within less than a two week period. And each time I went back to the other salon, they told me that they knew how to perform the service... And that was it. So I was definitely dismayed. It was a bummer for the other place because I was going I'm a trip to see a friend, and my nails looked completely busted. So I went over to Q Nails and went to Sophia and she helped fix me up. And it was very quick! And looks great and more sturdy. One thing I'd like to say as a general statement if any of the owners are reading is that at many salons for nails, the technicians do not introduce themselves... They don't build a relationship with the customer. I think this is key to building business. If someone knows me and I know their names, I am more apt to come back. Often times, technicians do not even say who they are... And then of course you forget on the way out to ask who they are, and then have a hard time booking the same person again. I want to start by saying I made an appointment for my nails and my toes for at 5 pm for three of us. We walked in the ladies gave my daughter and my friend a pedicure but not me. They let three ladies who walked in with appointments after myself get their nails done before myself. My friend was scheduled to get her nails done as well they never got to her. Today my nail cuticals are bleeding and I am in a ton of pain. I will post photos but I my fingers are literally bleeding today and I have what looks like a thumb nail on my middle finger. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon and it was delightful to find a nail salon that was even open! I only needed a basic manicure and Q nails was perfect! The shop is bright, clean and easy to find with ample parking . There are numerous stations and wait time is minimal. My technician was friendly efficient and fast. Prices here are very reasonable and the list of available services is extensive. My only criticism would be the lack of a check-in system to keep track of who is next. read more

Although any nail place will offer pretty much the same services for the same prices (unless you go to an expensive salon), I have been pretty happy with Q Nails in particular after having tried a few others in Longmont. The staff is always friendly, although I try to go when it's not peak hours as they do get rushed when they have a waiting room full of folks waiting for service. Their location is very appealing, nice relaxing massage chairs for pedis and individual mani stations with a huge selection of colors. Four stars for the occasional rushed job. More techs on staff on a busy Saturday would probably clear that issue up! read more

I went here because a friend of a friend recommended their dipping nail service (for example, SNS, etc.). I also went here because I thought they had low prices and great service which would be a winning combination. I was wrong. Arrived and was promptly greeted. Then a male employee came over and handed me a large ring of nail dipping colors. I asked if that was the bulk of them, just to make sure I had them all, and he said, "What?! You need MORE than that?" Ok then, I just ignored that annoying comment and went along looking and picking out my colors. Found a color I liked and was told to take a seat in the nail chair. We started the nail dipping process. I noticed the female nail tech did not use a new nail file, or clean clippers. She also used a drill on my bare nails, which I have heard is a no no. So I assume they don't use new nail files on each customer which is just gross. The desk she did my nails on was DISGUSTING. Nail dust EVERYWHERE. On EVERYTHING. Like don't they not take pride in their establishment? Clearly not, because it was SO dirty. The place also smelled like dirty old trash. Not a good look or smell. Then she proceeded to complain about how short my nails were, telling me I was giving her, "Nothing to work with." Again, annoying. I didn't come here to be judged. I came here to get an awesome dipped mani. Well, needless to say, I didn't get an awesome dipped mani. My nails are super square with sharp edges and the edges have nail powder all over them. Even some of my fingers still have nail powder on them. Bright red nail powder. Great. The color of the mani is inconsistent and uneven. You may think you're getting a good deal by going here because of their prices but you're not, you are literally throwing your money away on a terrible experience. Their nail dipping is NOT a manicure. It ONLY includes the nail dipping. No cuticle cutting, no massage, no oil, no cleaning... JUST nail dipping. My 3 yr old son (aka my hubby, lol :) ) sent me here for a mani/pedi for Valentine's Day. Money is tight, so this isn't something I regularly do, and I was looking forward to an hour of relaxation. My first concern was when the tech brought out a cheese grater and started grating my feet. I know from my mom, who regularly gets her nails done at a day spa, that this is definitely not best practice. Sure enough, I looked down a moment later and saw that the side of my big toe was bleeding. It didn't hurt right away, but when she sprayed alcohol on my nails before painting them - ouch!! It was clear that I was bleeding, but she pretending nothing was wrong. Then just before she painted my toenails, she put another super painful substance on it. I asked what it was, and she said it was to stop the bleeding. Slightly disconcerting, I think, that they have such a thing so readily on hand. Makes you wonder how often they have to use it! At this point I started texting my mom and husband, asking what I should do. I'm not very confrontational and I didn't want to be a bitch, but I felt like cutting someone with a cheese grater during a pedi is just not acceptable. Long story short, I had to speak to the manager and tell her I didn't think I should have to pay for the pedi. The woman didn't make me pay, but it was very awkward, and I definitely didn't feel like anyone was trying to make things right. I felt horribly awkward for the rest of the experience, as then I felt like the tech and manager were mad at me. I ended up tipping on top of my mani so that the total was half what it would have been (mani/pedi was $35, mani was $12, and I paid $17.50 to try to be fair). It was a horrible experience, first because of the cut, then the stress of figuring out how to handle it, then the uncomfortable awkwardness of having to finish my mani with the tech who now knew I wasn't going to pay the full amount. I would have been more relaxed painting my own nails at home. I've had several great pedis from the place across the street, Fossil Nail & Spa. They are very friendly over there and don't use cheese graters. My husband didn't realize I had gone to Fossil before and not Q, or he probably would have booked my appointment at Fossil. Oh well. I went in last Friday for a full set. Told the gal how I like my nails done, she said ok no problem. After she finished I was not happy with the way they looked , I'm paying how ever much to get them done they should look good and last a while. She said they would be fine and if they broke to come back in and she would fix it. So Monday Im looking at them and all the sides are lifted and two corners were already broke. I went into the salon and told them I wanted them all fixed. A different gal did them this time. Didn't charge me to fix but I am still very dissatisfied. They honestly look way worse then before. They were hesitant to do a paraffin dip and we have no idea why. But mainly, the polish was applying sloppily - missing parts of my nail and getting it on my skin around my nails (especially on my toes). I have been going to Q Nails for several years. I recently took my friend there for her birthday to enjoy a Pedi. We were greeted right away and told the standard "pick a color". Went right to our station and was asked if the water was okay. Upon my answer my foot was promptly remove from the bowl and the whirlwind process was over before I knew what had happened! We were out the door within 20 minutes of sitting down, including dry time of around 10 before a girl came over and told us we were okay to go! Now if they had been busy, I still would have been disappointed but understanding. Unfortunately, we were the only ones there getting pedicures and only a couple other customers were getting nails done. Several Techs were sitting around without customers on their phones and watching TV. I have felt for some time now that Q Nails has been getting more and more disconnected from their customers and their quality of services has been deteriorating. I've been going to Q Nails for 3 yrs. have always enjoyed their services....the last few months they have a new tek, a male....seems to be a nice young man but doesn't speak good English nor does he understand what I say. For some reason they keep giving me to him when I'm there. The last 3 times I've gone the next day I have had small scabs in my cuticle where he's knocked me. Yesterday was terrible. I told them when I went in I wanted a pedicure & my nails removed.....they motioned for him. I told the girl, he can do my pedicure but not my nails......she paid no attention to me. Pedicure went ok except once when he left the grinder on me too long. I hollered even. The nail removal was horrible. At one point I had to get up & walk around....I have scabs on 3 of my fingers, plus one nail he really cut into trying to get nail off.....before I left I told one of the girls, she said too late now.....right. I was trying to be polite & not hurt the young mans feeling nor create a scene. The more I think about it, that young man doesn't have the skills he needs yet...he shouldn't be working. read more
