My mom and I came in for 2 gel pedicures this was 1 1/2 hours ago and we are still here. They put an obviously unexperienced nail tech to do her feet. I am still sitting here waiting and she does not even have polish on her toes they keep switching in and out between nail techs to do her nails. They do great nails my toes look awesome the gentleman that did my feet did an awesome job the new person painting my moms feet does a really good job. They would get a 5 star review but I have never waited so long on toe polish just polish to be done! I just got the most immaculate manicure I've had since I moved to the DC area 7 years ago. The salon is sort of awkwardly situated and so I've never tried it before. But today my regular place was so busy and I didn't feel like waiting so I went in. Kevin did my gel manicure and it is excellent!! He was really pleasant and the whole staff was friendly and didn't make you feel like an outsider... You know what I mean- so many nail salons leave you wondering if they spent the whole time talking about you. Not this place. It's now become my regular spot and I'll always see Kevin. Today was my second visit & I wanted a pedicure and a fresh full set. I was not greeted upon entering so I took the initiative to check in and while doing so a lady interrupts by rudely asking to hold on & why was I coming in. Definitely not the customer service to give a customer. Anyway, I was only offered a pedicure and asked to return the following day for a new set. I decided to leave & have the services I desired elsewhere.The initial visit two weeks ago I had asked for a fill in and a pedi & I had shown a photo of what I wanted. The man who helped me told me it wouldn't be possible because I had a old set and wouldn't look good with an old set and told me he'd do something similar and to return to get a new set and I'd receive my desired look, which was today. Given it was my first time there I decided to trust him, I ended up leaving with a set NOTHING SIMILAR to what I had asked for and wasn't really happy on my first visit. The lady who did my pedi afterwards was really rough and actual cut me with the cuticle cutter which cause me to bleed and also left some residual ingrowns which I had to go home and remove myself. I think they are quite decent but my experience was just OK. I was told to get to the shop at 10 am and I arrived there around 10:10, my nail tech didn't arrive until 10:45 or so. I asked the nail tech to make my tips thicker because my nails are weaker, but a few days letter one of my nails broke. Additionally, my nails could have been buffed and shaped more attentively since a couple of the nails are a tiny bit lumpy. I don't know about this place. They were open until 5pm on Sunday, which was convenient because other nearby salons were already closed when I was in desperate need of a brow wax ($8). I walked in and immediately spotted two male technicians working on people. One greeted me and sent me to the back room to get my brows done. There were two women technicians in the room already and two beds but barely any room. I tried to explain my misshapen eyebrow situation and the woman who waxed me just gave me a basic wax. Not sure if she used old wax or not. But she did trim and pluck with the waxing (I had to go home and fix my brow though) Upon leaving the tiny room, I was asked if I wanted a manicure or pedicure. I caved and got a gel manicure but surprisingly they offer manicures with dipping powder (never knew that was a thing). Tiffany slayed my cuticles! She was so meticulous with my barely there nails. Cut one finger a little too deep but she put Neosporin on it and apologized. She also used utensils from a self-sterilizing pouch. The gel manicure was $30. Also, I was happy that they had color changing gel. Some places don't have it and I get annoyed by that. Anyway, they only have 6 massaging pedicure chairs and it's a relatively small shop that is at a decent level of cleanliness. My mother brought my oldest girls and great aunt here for gel manis and pedis (my aunt has early dementia short term memory). My mom said that everything was going well until she stepped out for a minute. When she walked outside, the lady stopped doing my 11 year old's nails and went to start on a woman's pedicure. I mean mid-gel stopped. I HATE when people take advantage of children and old people! My daughter said the lady stopped immediately when my mom left. My mom said something to the nail tech and she finished my daughter's nails. My oldest daughter didn't have any problems probably because she's a teenager. After they left, my mom was driving my aunt home and noticed she had a different color than what she picked out for her before stepping outside. My mom personally picked the color because she knows what my aunt likes. My mother asked my daughters if auntie picked another color and they said no. Needless to say my mother was fuming! We will NEVER patronize this establishment again. I don't care if they're giving away free gel manis and pedis. Gel is not cheap and all 3 of them had it hands and feet. Judging from all the reviews these people clearly don't respect us or our money. I don't put all Asians in the same category so it won't stop me from going to other Asian nail salons but it sure as heck will never be this one again. My mother and I said we will take an extra 2 hours out of our day every 2 weeks just to get our auntie back and forth to take her to our nail salon in addition to waiting for her to be served. Went to go get my nails done, prior to cash app to Paul of $30 to hold for an appointment. Went there 15 mins early and waited(with an appointment) 30 min. Well the moral to the story is 5 of my nails look like they were pointing at the sky, the other ones were fine. Contacted Paul about the situation and sent pictures and this Asswhole basically ignored the problem. I paid him $100.00 dollars for flying nails! Terrible! Customer service was disgusting and my cuticles on my toes and fingers are all cut to hell. Some of my fingers are even red and inflamed. My nail tech was out of town so I decided to get a fill in here to hold me over until she gets back. I hate plain nails, I'm big on length and design so I figured this would be a good spot. When I told Kevin the shape I wanted (tapered square) he didn't know what I was talking about so I ended up settling for coffin which I didn't like at all because thats not the shape I walked in with. Told him I wanted colored acrylic but he said there was no time for that today and maybe we can try another day. Tf? Mind you they accept walk-ins so him being worried about time pissed me off. Normally this is the reason why I don't do nail salons, they're so worried about money that they either rush through their work or don't use enough product to ensure the nails will last, they use just enough to get the job done. My nails usually last at least 3 weeks and some days before any of them break. Even then it's usually just one nail and is my fault cause I can be rough. When Kevin was doing my nails I noticed that he was using a very sparingly amount of acrylic gel. I warned him to apply the acrylic gel thicker at the base because I was positive they wouldn't last being that thin. I've been getting acrylics for over 8 years, I know what works with my nails and what doesn't. He arrogantly gave me some bs excuse on why that wasn't a good idea and didn't take my advice. And just like I predicteddddd less than 2 weeks after my fill in, 11 days to be exact, 3 of my nails had broken!! My nails were just flying off. No lie one on them broke while I was scratching my hair! THATS how weak the nail foundation was. Their designs on instagram are GREAT but the foundation stinks, a waste of time and money. Nail salons are outdated, they don't keep up with the current trends and honestly don't even really care about their art. It's all about money to them. Horrible service. I grew my nails out long over a period of six months. When I went to them and had gel put on my nails the girl did a horrible job. She used the machine to sand down my real nales like they were fake with accrylic and as a result, it caused all of my nase to break off. I went back to complain and to have the gel taken off and they could have cared less. Then they charged me $10 to remove the gel from my nails and the man manhandled my fingers to the point where I had to tell him to stop with the roughness. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went here about a 2 and a half weeks ago and got a full set. French tip, nothing major. They charged me $80.. I thought that was a little high but it was done very nicely so I let it slide and went on my way. I came back today to get a FILL IN, same french tip, same exact thing as last time.. They charged me $74 for a FILL! I asked the gentleman who did my nails why is a fill damn near the same price I paid to get a full set and he said because i got them cut down... what?!!? i didn't even wanna give them one star. q nails has always been a nail home to me. i've been going to the nail shop on and off for the past 15 years. the customer service was always amazing and they did an amazing job each time. today was a day that i will never go back to this nail shop. i broke a nail and made an appointment with the young gentleman outside. which was at 11 am. i was there with bells and whistles ready to get my hand back to how i like it. when i walked up the gentleman remembered who i was and said hey you have an appointment at 11 before i can say anything. other people was in line behind me [i was second in line] he took out temperature and he told me to wait outside so i did. he came and got me at 11:08 and told me to sit at the desk as soon as you come in on the left hand side. (mind you i can see inside the store..... and the lady desk where i sat was doing NOTHING! on her phone or playing with her fingers. i just know NO ONE was in her seat.) she starts my nails and was amazed by my nail art work (which i designed) and my ring. as she almost done with the broke nail she asked me what color did i want. i wanted what i had on my hand. regardless i made an appointment and i wanted my nail painted the way i wanted. i am paying for a service so i want what I REQUEST. the lady didn't want to do it. someone tried to help me and fix the nail for free but it just wasn't cutting it. i tried to save a trip from crofton to beltsville. regardless that's NONE of their business. I have never written a poor review but this was just honestly terrible. The nail technician was very nice so it pains me to write this but I can't in good faith let people come here and be ambushed like I was. The color section was very sparse. And all the polishes seemed to be out of date. The base coat she applied was sticky and the brush stuck together. The color I finally landed upon was also sticky and applied in patches. No effort was made to thin the polish or find a new bottle. I finally just had her remove it and just apply clear polish. The end result looked terrible. I honestly could do a better job myself and I'm not even very good. Examining my hand there are bubbles in the polish, clear polish on my skin, and cotton strands sealed under the polish. She spent a long time working on my nails but it was time wasted. I have had countless manicures and this stands out as an outlier by far. Also, they didn't put a towel under my hands and had a news paper lying on the table by my hand where she'd set down the tools she wasn't using. This establishment is not even deserving of one star. They are dishonest and they acknowledge their deceit. My wife and I went to get a manicure and pedicure, upon talking to the receptionist we were told the wait was 10 - 15 minutes (lie), this wait time was very important because we had already been to several other salons with longer wait times and the time was a deciding factor. 15 minutes passed, I approached the receptionist and he said the chair was about ready, so I waited some more. 40 minutes after we were told the wait was 10 - 15 minutes and we were yet to be attended to. At this point, I was frustrated and decided to inquire with the receptionist. I asked him why he had falsely told us the wait was 10 - 15 minutes and his response was that he could not have told us the truth so he decided to tell us what he felt we wanted to hear, upon hearing this I called him out on the dishonesty, informing him our decision to stay was based on the wait time his told us (he had practically wasted our time). While talking to the receptionist, other personnel decided to interject and make excuses for their dishonesty, and became verbally abusive and rude, one of their staff named Kevin wanted to get physical and attempted assault on my pregnant wife by pulling out a machete to intimidate us. He then threatened to call the police thinking we would be intimidated, seeing we were not intimidated he continued his verbal abuse with the machete on his lap. I strongly advise against patronizing this business, they have zero respect for their customers. I will be following this up with a report to the city council, they should not be in business. read more
