I haven't seen such an old-fashioned blood pressure monitor in the last 20 years -- it's clear they haven't invested in maintaining or updating the facility. Our consultation felt rushed and impersonal. We were shown a short video, and when Dr. Juvet came in, it felt like we were bothering him by asking questions. He seemed eager to move on to the next patient. Despite our concerns, we went ahead with the wisdom teeth removal because our regular dentist had referred us. In hindsight, we should have trusted our instincts and gone elsewhere. When we returned for the extraction of the top two wisdom teeth, the nurse was kind, but Dr. Juvet remained distant and dismissive. I had asked him to be gentle, as my daughter was already crying after receiving four injections without much explanation or reassurance from the doctor. Unfortunately, he proceeded quickly and without sensitivity. He pushed her head from side to side during the procedure instead of guiding her gently or asking her to move -- which made us question whether he is only used to patients with full anesthesia, which my daughter didn't have . He offered no explanation during the process, and didn't even speak with me afterwards to explain how the procedure went. My daughter left the office shaking and in tears -- and she is not someone who is typically emotional. The lack of communication, care, and professionalism was deeply troubling. If you're looking for a provider who respects patients and takes the time to treat them with compassion, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. This felt more like a factory than a place of care.

My 10:00 am appointment didnt finish until 11:30. The reason I went to this office is because they told me I could have laughing gas. The receptionist even asked me when I was going back if I wanted to laughing gas as I said, yes. When I go back, the assistant puts oral gel on my mouth and disappears for 30 minutes when she comes back and I asked about the laughing gas. She said nobody told her and rolled her eyes and said well the hardest part over being the Novacaine so you don't really need it now I expressed it was really loud in there. There was six doors opened. All the patients were waking up from having wisdom teeth surgery, patient's crying. Then the dentist came in, said " lets wiggle those teeth out friend" that's it they didn't say I was doing a great job anything they just said ones out and then the other ones out. They did not ask any medications i was on, then perscribed me a painkiller I absolutely cannot use. No stitches, the pain I am in is unbearable. I have such dental anxiety and this made it worse. I will never go back to Dr. Juvert again.

UNETHICAL PRACTICE!!!! LIARS!!! BEWARE OF CHARGES!!! DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL!!!…read more Back in February I was having dental issues (cracked tooth that needed to be pulled ) all of my "in network" dentists were booked that day so I got referred to Oral Surgery South in Quincy. I called before I went because they were "out of network" and I explained my situation. I also explained that I didn't want to pay over $1000 to get a tooth pulled to please quote me a price, because if it was super expensive I would just wait a day and go to an "in network" dentist. The woman who I was speaking with assured me that getting a tooth pulled was about $200 for in network patients and a little over $400 for out of network patients. I once again went over how I didn't want to pay $1000 to have my tooth pulled but if it was only going to be $400 I would come in and do it. So we booked an appointment. I have no complaints about the dental work, The equipment itself is a little outdated (besides the fancy xray machine they charge an extra $75 without asking you for) but the work was mostly painless and efficient. The problem is when I went to pay my bill and leave, instead of it being a little over $400, the new total was $1,181.90 I admit I made a mistake by swiping my card when I got to the desk without looking at anything, my head was foggy and I just had a tooth pulled. When she told me the price I told her that's not what she told me and what we agreed to on the phone, she told me there was an additional $800 charge. Nobody told me about additional charges, nobody asked me about additional charges , nobody explained anything about additional charges to me , nobody said the words "EIGHT HUNDERED DOLLARS" at any time, until after i got the bill. I felt lied to and taken advantage of. My card was already swiped so even though I told her I disagreed with the charges and I didn't want to pay the extra $800, I would still pay the $400 and that I wasn't signing anything to authorize that additional $800. They still charged me $1,181.90 and refused to give me an itemized receipt, the receipt they gave me has the total on it and nothing else. I tried to dispute the $800 portion of the bill to my credit card company and they said because I swiped there is nothing they can do and I have to contact the merchant. The merchant will not refund the $800. I agree that I still owe the $400 to get the tooth pulled, but I don't want them to UNETHICALLY up- charge anyone else like they did to me. I was desperate and they knew it, then they used bait and switch on me with unethical tactics. I was a sale and a dollar sign and that woman at the desk was rude and she most likely made commission on putting me in that fancy x ray machine they charge you extra for and the extra $800 they tacked on at the end. Going to the dentist is hard enough, nobody should have to deal with this after the fact. So AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS !!! BEWARE OF UNETHICAL PRACTICE AND BAD CHARGES!!!!

The front desk ladies are wonderful. Especially Lynn! Lynn worked with my dentist office to ensure I got the care i needed. The doctors and the rest of the staff in the back are great. The whole process probably took like 30-45 mins. They had me laying down in the back to allow me the needed time to wake up. Karly was more than helpful and made sure my wife and I got into the uber safely. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They quoted me a little cheaper than my dentist office did which was great! I was worried about going to a new place and because I saw a couple one star reviews but most regarding the front desk. Which I did not experience at all. I 100% recommend this place!!

At my consultation, they guided me through every concern I had, answering all of my questions with clear, concise replies. On the day of my surgery, they got me in the chair, prepped me for my procedure and then, like I snapped my fingers, I was in the recovery room. I asked my friend, who was giving me a ride home, when they were going to start the surgery, and he laughed, saying it was over. I had concerns regarding pain during my recovery, but the staff took care of me and my recovery was easy and virtually painless. If you need an extraction done, go to South Shore Oral Surgery; they are patient, kind, and understanding about the worries of their patients. Just be honest with them and don't be afraid to ask questions.
