Back in Fort Lee to visit my friends and have some Korean food. My friend suggested to go to this place after dinner since its newly renovated. I remembered this place as House of Malaysia, and the food was pretty good before. But now they transformed into a crepe and bubble tea place. We were so full so we decided to try some bubble teas, and it was soooo DISAPPOINTING. They don't use real tea but instead the TEA POWDER! No wonder why they don't provide the selection of different tea types and sugar level because they simply use powder to make the tea.. Boo..I saw the worker put different powders - I guess they're tea and milk powder?! mixed them with hot boiled water to make it into a "tea", then threw in lots of ice cubes to make it cool down. I know most bubble teas are artificial, but how can you be called a tea place without using real tea?! I felt my body was overloaded with powder after couple sips of that milk tea. And we paid like $5 for each, way too overpriced! Would rather walk five more minutes to get Kung fu tea over the bridge or go back to Hoboken to get Vivi at least they use real tea. read more

Great service and super friendly staff. I've known the family for years and they'll definitely take care of you. They have a nice selection of different flavored bubble tea. Normally I stick with what I know and only get peach. I'm glad I tried something different. Green apple yakult is very tasty with just the right amount of creaminess. The poké bowl was absolutely delicious. I was looking for something filling but refreshing. This would be the usual bubble tea place .... BUT, there's a crepes place attached to it by the same owner. So far I've had the Thai tea with bubbles and pudding, matcha with bubbles, and the regular milk tea with bubble and pudding. If you get a headache when you go to bubble tea places, I recommend staying away from their regular milk tea. It's the same headache I see when I have Kung fu tea. Something in the mix. read more

Came in on wed night and I've never ordered a bubble tea w/o bubbles being included automatically or at least being asked if I wanted them etc. my tea did not have any which didn't seem right and is disappointing & my friend and her son didn't either and they saw them not adding them in and asked why there were no bubbles? If they could add it? The guy proceeded to talk under I'm his breath rude while she was asking the girl. She refused to add bubbles to the top she said no they would have to remake the entire drink and it's too late and they need to ask if they want bubbles...my friend was willing to pay the difference or whatever was needed but once she heard the guy talking under his breath it upset her and escalated the situation. Very disappointing customer service staff seems not competent. Tea was good but not sure if it was worth it. While we were leaving we heard another couple asking/complaining the way they were making the drink as well but seemed annoyed and didn't want to be bothered got their drinks and just left. Q Tea Tapas is definitely my go to spot for bubble tea as they are the only place around the area who, to I, believe makes the PERFECT tapioca pearls where many other bubble tea spots fail to do so. The tapioca is such an important trait and really defines the quality of bubble tea. As for the food, Q Tea Tapas seems to be very successful in updating their menu to current food trends (example; Ramen, Poke bowls, Sushi-ritos) and do NOT fail to impress. Though the sushi fish does not seem to be on the same level as Sushi specialized restaurants, it is definitely still worth trying if you're looking for an answer to a quick sushi craving on the go. I also recently just had the ramen, which I was actually very impressed as their tonkotsu broth was very good, the noodles weren't over cooked and they still had a bit of a bite to the noodles which definitely a plus for ramen (in my opinion). This was such a cute tea and dessert bar conveniently next to a crepe place! My favorite part was probably the crepes, we got the Avocado BLT and Shrimp with Thai Chili Sauce. It took a bit to make but once we got it, we were so impressed! Presentation is everything but taste was AMAZING! The flavors of both crepes were unique and just right. Definitely a bit messy to eat but worth it. The bubble tea was ok, got the taro flavor, kind of milky and the shaved ice had a weird consistency, they skimped on the toppings too. This place used to serve quality boba at a reasonable price, but it is evident that the owner has placed every effort to maximize profit at the expense of his customers. We have been going since Q Tea Tapas opened and continued to go because of the aforementioned value, but I do not foresee us patronizing this shop in the future due to the evident quality neglect. The actual tapioca have been switched from a normal size to a smaller size in an effort to give customers less while charging the same amount. I wouldn't mind paying more to maintain the once satisfactory quality, but paying the same price to receive mediocre bubble tea is unacceptable. Additionally, the tea no longer has the same strength as before; I am very familiar with what a 100% sugar boba tastes like, but the past drinks I have purchased have tasted diluted to perhaps 70%. Lastly, (most formative to my review) is the obvious cheap nature of the cups and lid maker; when I was handed my boba, the cup collapsed on itself and spilled creating quite a mess. If you are reading this review, please consider other boba places before handing $6 to a rude owner. read more
