Flying on Japan Airlines to Narita out of LAX gave us access to the Qantas Lounge. This was one of our favorite lounges ever. From the first greeting to our exit, the staff was excellent. This lounge had full menu sit down service, as opposed to a buffet. We ordered the steak and fries, and it was terrific. Regarding the facilities, the lounge was large, not over crowded, well-decorated, and the bathrooms were clean. We hope to experience this lounge again in the future. read more

I've been to several lounges at international airports from Shanghai and Tokyo to Charlotte and Chicago. This lounge really stands out for the dining seating and menu. I was seated at the bar which made a fantastic Gin Blossom cocktail. The menu was quite extensive for appetizers, desserts, mains, and side. The service was very kind. Showers are available. Large comfortable chairs are available. I had a late flight that was past the hours of the first class lounge but I was able to go to the neighboring business lounge afterward since it has longer hours. Outlets are a little scarce but available. On international trips, I often forget to bring USD for tips at places like this. Just a reminder to keep some US cash if you're stopping in LAX! read more

Located in LAX's Tom Bradley International terminal, the Qantas lounge is a super comfy place to grab a bit or a drink while you wait for your flight. It's easy to walk past, so keep your eyes peeled as you walk the corridors looking for it. The staff are friendly and welcoming, as you might expect from Austrailians. There are a number of sections in the lounge, and it's a cozy space. The dining area is all the way in the back. Service is quick and attentive, and the food was delicious! Wow . . . just wow. If you have time to indulge, I heartily recommend that you do. I often do dessert first, and the rasberry and marscapone caught my eye, so I started with that, and then had the grilled asparagus. Sea Bass, Sundaes, and Style Qantas First Class Lounge Shines First class all day. Out of all the lounges I've been to, this one ranks in my top three worldwide. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted kindly, and the lounge felt spotless, spacious, and stylish. I especially liked the bold red furniture and the chairs plenty of comfortable spots to sit and relax before a long flight. Dining was a highlight. Everything is cooked to order, and while I was tempted by the burger, I went with the sea bass a perfect choice before heading out on a long haul to Heathrow. Across the way, a guest ordered an ice cream sundae, so of course I had to follow suit (picture below). Both dishes were excellent. Service was top-notch, too. My two waiters, who turned out to be boxers, even struck up a fun conversation about my hat -- just a cool, personal touch that made the experience even better. We had a good experience in this lounge in the Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX. It's located after security and our flight tickets gave us access. There weren't that many people in the place when we were there so the atmosphere felt a little sparse but it's a nicely designed spot. The bar especially was impressive to look at (though it was a little early in the day for us to take advantage of it.) We had plenty to choose from to eat...as a vegetarian, especially, there at brunch time there were abundant options. My wife had Avocado Toast whih looked and tasted great. I had Yoghurt with Plums, Honey and Toasted Hazelnuts which was a nice light meal to eat before getting on a long flight where they'd feed me a couple more times. Sheesh finally made it into this lounge! Camilla has been wanting to visit ever since she was disappointed over COVID when we flew first on JAL and they put us in a little room with chips lol I remember Camilla barely keeping her cool as she was so disappointed...We had been looking forward to checking this place out! Anyway, against all odds I was able to fly first on JAL again so we were excited to check it out! The lounge itself is just a big room with different seating areas and a restaurant. They have private bathrooms and such. But it was surprising how it lacked ambiance. They did have a nice area you could recline a bit and enjoy a view of inside the airport. Also there is a large restaurant and bar area ensuring you wouldn't have to wait to get food or drinks! Oh, they did have stations with various wines and such if you preferred to pour your own drink. The restaurant is obviously the star here! They do such a nice job! I was happy with the dishes I tried from their calamari to their salads! I left so stuffed! They didn't blink an eye when I devoured so much food.. I lack shame. Camilla really enjoyed the Bloody Mary and margarita she had, but was sad that they don't make martini's. I guess it's a policy. She had a nice little snooze in a chair and really soaked up the lounge as much as she could because she knows it'll be a verrrry long time before we can get in again. I am not a first class jet setter by any means. In all we imagined it to be a bit more grand then it was in reality, but it still was a very nice experience. They really have wonderful food and it's a great place to relax before your flight! Hands down the best airport lounge in North America. The sit down dining here is legit restaurant quality as it features an à la carte menu, not the bland picked over buffets found at Admirals Club, United Club, Delta Sky Club, or the wretched overcrowded Amex Centurion lounges. Limited to First Class or One World Emerald travelers this lounge was not crowded when we visited and was clean, inviting and relaxing. Upon check-in at the Mezzanine overlooking the TBIT check-in desks you'll see a lot of lounge seating initially but look up to the horizon and the centerpiece of the lounge unfolds - a bar that stretches the length of the vast restaurant seating. You'll be presented with a lengthy menu. The hungrier you arrive at this lounge means the more you'll be able to try - there is no limit on what you can order and the food comes out fairly quickly and well presented. Similar to the Finnair platnium lounge I visited in Helsinki, the Qantas First Class Lounge largely distinguishes itself by the presence of made-to-order meals and showers. While I don't find the interior of this lounge to be particularly special (many Centurion lounges feel better designed than this one) I did find the service and food to be a cut above many other lounges. The interior of the lounge isn't particularly striking. On first glance it's a simple rectangular space that's a bit too brightly lit and you'll be wondering if you're in the right lounge because the other Qantas-themed space opposite of this one seems to have much better vibes on the outside looking in; it looks a bit like a simple restaruant at the end with some lounge seating up front. After you sit down to eat the menu doesn't look particularly special but everything I had was pretty good. My prawn tacos and simple cheeseburger were definitely tastier than most buffet-style faire I've had at airline lounges. And, having table side service refilling your wine certainly made the experience feel a bit more service oriented. I definitely enjoyed this lounge more then the Amex Centurion branch at LAX (way too cramped and claustrophobic - not sure what they were thinking with that design) and way better than any of the basic level lounges from most of the major domestic airlines. Used to be a great lounge. It still is, but IMO the food isn't as good as it used to be. But there is nothing else comparable at LAX, so it's still the best choice. Pays to be BA Gold for free access even on domestic flights. It's the only reason to have Emerald Status with a foreign carrier. Good cocktails both with and without alcohol. If you happen to be there for breakfast and they are serving muesli, it's my favorite in LA. Service is friendly and relaxed. Check opening hours though, the last time i visited 1.5 week ago, it closed at 10PM and we were directed to the Business class lounge, fortunately my flight was departing at 11, so there was no need to downgrade. read more

A great lounge. It is very exclusive only reserved for first class passengers on Qantas and other One World Alliance airlines who have at least Emerald status. This lounge is not crowded and has one of the best sit down restaurants at a lounge. For lunch I had Tomato and mozzarella salad. And my main course was the grilled stripe bass. It was delicious and was not like airport food but actually had fine dining quality. For dessert I had the chocolate cake and it was presented beautifully and was delicious. The majority of the wines were Australian and especially enjoyed the Syrah. The bar of course is full service and had top shelf liquor. Service was outstanding and all the staff were extremely attentive. The shower rooms were not that fancy but the soap was of high quality. read more

Ordered the following: - Roasted chicken with butternut squash puree - 5/10: interesting dish, and beautifully presented. However, the chicken was way overcooked. Needed some effort to saw through that bad boy. - Sea bass - 8/10: perfectly cooked, simply seasoned, flaky. Delicious. - Salt and Pepper Squid - 8/10: loved it. Thick cuts, tender, lightly breaded, came with a mayo and citrus sauce. Must have. I have to mention this lounge has some of the best restrooms you'll find. The lady who checked us in was extremely standoffish and rude. As the first person to greet the guests please smile. She didn't want to let us in because we weren't in first class but my wife has emerald status in one world. We were trying to explain it to her but she didn't want to listen. The food was ok. A 2-hour flight delay from Los Angeles to Sydney is not so unbearable after all when the waiting time is spent at the Qantas First lounge. The lounge is spacious and has lots of power outlets (a real necessity these days during a layover at any airport). The space is bright and welcoming, as is the service at the front desk as well as in the dining area. The dining is a la carte, and the menu changes regularly. For an airline lounge, there are plenty of menu options, including plant-based dining as well as meat and seafood choices. The lounge remains open until the last OneWorld international flight for the day departs, so a flight delay does not leave the guests stranded. The only worrisome thing about my delay is that I might end up eating too much while I wait here! The lounge is located on the 5th floor. If you fly into Terminal 4 and walk over to the International Terminal, just keep walking past the escalators down to the gates, and the lounge entrance will be on your left. If you are starting your trip in LA, turn left after you get through the TSA security checkpoint, and take the elevator to the 5th floor. Follow signs after you get off the elevator. read more

It feels a bit like walking into a nightclub in the early 90's - low flung ceilings, lots of lampshade dimmed light and a bit of a disorienting feel. However, once I got my bearings - it was all easy navigating. For me the key to a great airport lounge is the ability to find a variety of seating options. What I mean by this is - not just comfortable places to relax, but also semi-private locations where I can take a call or rest without a lot of distraction. The Quanta's club has tons of options. In addition to the plush environment - they offer a wide range of self-service wine pours. Yup, you read it right - you get to select from a range of nice white and red bottles pour your own glass. That's cool! Finally - but not least important . . . The staff are awesome. They're Aussie - what more needs to be said. read more

This is absolutely one of the top North American lounges. We were traveling on American, but access is available for OneWorld Emerald status even if not flying on Qantas. It's a very short walk through the connector from terminal 4 as well with no need to leave the secured area. Access was smoothly granted without issue, and it was absolutely empty on a Saturday morning unlike American's Flagship Lounge in terminal 4 which was packed. The decor is total modern with plenty of seating in addition to their dining area. The dining menu for breakfast was plentiful, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was excellent! The waffles were among the best I've tasted. The eggs were a bit under over-hard as ordered, but were served piping hot. The coffee was strong and hot. The mimosa was excellent and quickly refilled when empty. This is easily among the best of North American lounges, so plan a visit if you have the chance! read more

Great lounge at LAX. I was able to use it flying BA 1st class. Beautiful space with a wonderful staff. Huge bar to have a proper cocktail or a lovely wine station over on one side. High end liquor and wine choices. The food is off the simple yet elegant menu. I've had a few of the items, the prawns with pickled cabbage is light and tasty. They have burgers, steaks, meatball sandwiches so no worry about going hungry. Also is a standard dining room if needed. One of my favorite lounges to work and relax. Restaurant is INSIDE the lounge and the food was fresh, good and healthy. Main reason why it's good is the they way they set it up it's NOT PACKED.... 4 star lounge. Came here to Qantas First Class Lounge before my flight to Nepal. Nice clean lounge, friendly staff and great drinks. The place is quiet, spacious and not too packed in the 11am-12noon hour. Snacks and wine is serve yourself style, and there is a full bar with service and full restaurant with staff as well. Filled up on free drinks and food before my 16 hour flight and I am impressed. This being said, I think the flagship lounge I. After a year of qualifying for AA's EXP status, I was finally able to check out this lounge early February. I can echo Gigio S's comments that this is probably the best lounge in NA (not including AMEX's Centurion lounge network). What I enjoyed the most about this lounge is the fact that it caters to a smaller crowd which means less noise during peak travel times. The a la carte restaurant has a little something for everyone and the best part of it is that you can tailor a decent meal right before flying. Over the years, I have come to just eat lunch/dinner before any of my Trans Atlantic/Pacific flights just to avoid the less than appetizing airplane food. Yup that even includes meals in both business and even more so when travelling in economy. I hope to maintain my status with AA just so that I can dine and relax here before any long haul flights. My only complaint is that the showers need some updating as the business class showers were updated a few years back. read more

I drove up from San Diego to LAX today to meet up with a guy I never met from a frequent flyer forum who had access to one of the nicest airport lounges in the world. I may or may not have purchased an airline ticket to get me through TSA that I later refunded. That part I'm really hazy about, so let's move on. Dude was super cool, and somehow we were both at Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL) last weekend. Hung out for 5 hours talking flying hacks and tricks while enjoying some amazing food and drinks. I was even able to get some gas money by taking an item up to LA from San Diego from a Craigslist ad for $50! Order #1: Salt & pepper squid with green chili dipping sauce and garlic aoli Johnny Walker Black Soda water Order #2: Espresso Guangsi style crispy pork belly with fragrant rice, cashews, red onion, sesame and dark chili paste Firestone Walker Brewing Co. 805 Blonde Ale Order #3: Bloody mary Hamachi with soy dressing, lime, and jalepeño kosho Side of fries Order #4: Seafood tostada (*we actually didn't order it, they just brought it) Almond latte to go Everything was excellent, though I wish I got the steak instead of the pork belly. Parking bill for 5 hours = $19. Left a small tip at the bar even though apparently nobody does in Australia. Pretty solid way to spend a Tuesday. read more

Everyone here was super nice. David (the chef) went above and beyond his duties for us. My daughter and I was able to go to the first class lounge because of my status. Unfortunately I was only able bring one person so my wife had to go to the business class lounge. David was working in the business class lounge and found out our family was separated. David talked to the supervisor and he got her to approve letting my wife come over to the first class lounge to join us for lunch. That really made our day, my daughter was ecstatic that we were able to have lunch together prior to our long flight to Saigon! read more

I dedicate my 900th Yelp Review to the one and only... The spirit of Australia certainly permeates throughout the entire lounge, and it is safe to say that this is the single BEST lounge that you are going to find here in the United States. Qantas has done it all and I've had the pleasure to be granted access with my AA status. I've dropped in twice now in recent history both going and returning from Tokyo with the later connecting to Chicago. The lounge mirrors its competitors abroad and really symbolizes how a first class lounge should be. There is ample seating everywhere with good views of the terminal interior. Champagne, wine, and beer are littered everywhere you see beverages, as well as small bar snacks to quell your hunger. In fact, the best part of this lounge is the full menu restaurant that they have available. Their Spring Menu offering is incredible and one to remember. Some of the highlights include: - Salt & Pepper Squid (fantastic starter complimented by a green chili sauce and garlic aioli) - Hamachi Crudo with jicama and jalapeno (another crunchy and divine appetizer) - Black Angus Minute Steak with Chipotle Butter (an amazing steak grilled to your liking with a crack chipotle butter spread on top) - Apricot, Pecan, and Almond Cake (fluffy dessert to try) - Black Forest Waffles (the WINNER here that's loaded with chocolate) I had better food in the lounge than I did on my actual flight. The level of attention they pay to presentation and flavors is impeccable and certainly earns them the title of best lounge in LAX and the US as a whole. Don't forget the sips too! I tried a few of their cocktails and was sufficiently buzzed before taking off to Japan. Remember to relax, dine, drink, and shower before your flight, and you will be on your way. The sashimi is one of may favorite things and the calamari. What I have recommended to the bar staff is get some Tito's Vodka, since ti is so popular right now and I like it. Just a quick review. I visit here about once every 6 weeks or so. Food is great for a lounge. Nearly comparable to the Concorde lounge at LHR. The minute steak with the chipotle butter is devine. Service is fine. Although there seem to be less staff (table waiters for those not eating) than there were earlier in the year. Ambiance is cool. Comfy chairs & footstools along the window facing towards the corridor With the cosy chairs in the central area. Nice book selection. My main gripe with this lounge is that they insist (lounge policy apparently) that they cannot give you a spirit (Gin, Rum, Vodka ect) without ice. I believe they will allow no ice in Conyac and another spirit. What the hell is that all about?? Coming from the UK I choose never to take my drinks with ice. If I wanted Run & water I would ask for it. This policy needs changing. fast. This policy does not apply in the Oneworld Business lounge next door. The lounge gave me a total different experience of waiting for my flight. We picked a couple of comfy leather chairs, dropped our carry on and "let's the party begin"! I helped myself to an open bar and l mean it's open and full! Whatever l want and bottomless from top shelf to more common brands. I had a cab and a Maker's Mark. I made several trips to the buffet (check out my pics). Food matches the first class service, c'est tres bon!
