I walked in they looked at me and turned away to continue their conversation. I asked loudly, " do you provide soak off !?" One of the ladies looked at me - in another language (in a low tone) mumbling something and turned to the other woman. Keep in mind they are all standing towards the back of the salon, never approaching or acknowledging me. I then asked again the same question. Finally, one woman leaning over a chair in the distance says, "Yes". I asked well can I please have a soak off and a manicure and how much would that be. She responds in a low tone $15 for soak off - $28 for soak off and manicure. I said loudly, "Yes, that's totally fine!" She then tells me to wait - still at the back of the store - still not approaching me. There was another woman coming out of the back from another room - they all talked (still from a distance). I said, no thank you and walked out. I forgot to mention, this is my 2nd time attempting to get services from this place. There will be no 3rd attempt. I like to give people grace and this place is convenient for me being that I live literally across the street. Also, after looking at the pictures - I see no one of my race. I don't want to assume anything, I just want to express my experience. Do better. read more

This could have been a five star experience if this nail tech didn't decide to place chunks of nails on my foot and leave them there like she was shaming me. I'm not a fn nail tech lady that's why I'm paying you. Please don't stick pieces of my nails on my foot you could have easily wiped them on the white towel under my foot. I don't know why you did this and I don't like it. And it definitely nocked the star off the review but everything else was cool. read more

Even with the cons -- i still don't think i'll go anywhere else. i'll start with those... there were two mosquitoes in the salon and I definitely had bites she said it was a one off and i do believe that. second being the salon looks super outdated kind of like you stepped into the 90s--no tvs but who cares i think getting off your screen is the whole point. OK, pros! massage chairs are VERY lit. Probably one of the best chair massages. I've had at a nail salon this far. The women I worked with were so accommodating and so sweet and they did a really fun nail design for me for Halloween. they took their time and I'm very happy! Will definitely be back. read more

this 1 star review is based on only one of the experiences I've had, the other ones have been great where I think the owner/manager did my nails. I had 2 out of 3 coats done for my nails and the woman doing my nails told me to "pay now and she'll do my nails better". I was confused and kinda shocked cuz my nails were clearly wet still. Reached into my purse to grab my wallet and I ruined two polished nails, handed the cash to her and ruined a third nail. I've never been asked to pay before they finished, which ok its fine but if you're gonna do that make sure you don't make my nails wet with paint first if the owners/nail techs read this just know you're going to upset some people with this practice and they will be less likely to tip especially if they ruin their nails because of it. it was frustrating and annoying trying to pay while my nails were completely wet And also my nails were not done that well. I had a top coat of glitter and she didn't cover the bottom or sides of most of my nails, and my right thumb looks super blotchy. I don't think I would go here again unless the owner does my nails which sucks. read more

My friend and I came down from LA to SD for a quick getaway and wanted to get our nails done somewhere near our air bnb and found this gem. Ni did an amazing job taking care of us. They were very accommodating when scheduling/rescheduling our appointment time. Def call to schedule due to covid restrictions. * ample street parking in the area/around the block, came in on a weekday morning * COVID-friendly: There were only a select few people getting their nails done the same time as us. They have you write your name/number to track you down in case. They clean workstations/chairs before/after each client. Face masks at all times and clear shields in place between client/nail tech. * affordable pricing, (although can't remember the exact pricing) paid about $50 for a gel mani and reg pedi * massage chairs for pedi * Ni did an amazing job with the shaping/cleaning/application of my gel mani. She worked FAST but efficiently; didn't reduce the quality of her work one bit. She was also so friendly and sweet. Came in with no expectations but glad we found this place. Our new go-to if we're ever in the area again. It's nowhere near "bougie" considering the decor of the place, but it didn't take away the quality of their work. We felt more pampered and relaxed here compared to any other more expensive salon. I'll update this review once I see how long my nail color lasts! read more

I want to preface this review by writing that I get a manicure and pedicure only twice a year or on special occasions. I came to get both recently as my cousin is getting married in a few weeks. I got a Gel manicure and pedicure with the color #57 (dark oxblood red). I was a bit surprised by the cost of both. The gel manicure is $20 and gel pedicure is $30. It is more than I am used to paying but if the color lasts a lot longer and the condition remains chip free the I am willing to pay more. I expected a longer and nicer massage. The chair was not as comfortable as others I have sat in. Also, my massage chair didn't work properly. :( If you are short on time, do not go with gel as it took about an hour and a half. Since I could not relax in the chair, watch tv, read a magazine or play on my phone since my hands were occupied, the time really dragged by. It has only been four days, but my nails still look amazing. I could see going back if I had a friend to chat with to pass the time. read more

I love this salon! I get dip powder with Nhi. She is super friendly and very attentive to me and what I like. She always asks questions about how my nails look and will redo the art to make sure she gets it exactly how I want it. I haven't been since before Covid so not sure what their prices are now but when I did it was about $40 plus $3 for each nail that had nail art for a dip powder mani. Love this place! all the ladies do a great job. I have gotten manicures here and dip power manicures. They did a great job with the two dip manicures. Dip manicures are also the best - so durable, has never chipped in the three weeks I've had them, and so easy to remove too. Much healthier removal process than gel in my plebeian views lol. The only bad thing about the dip powder is that they don't do fills on dip powder. So I had to pay for another dip manicure (including the whole process of removal and reapplication). the price for a full dip power manicure is very reasonable at $35. read more

I am so disappointed! I've been doing dip powder for years, and this is by far the worst dip manicure I've ever received. Nothing has come close to how awful this is. $40 and an hour later they looked fine; 6 days later a disaster. Dip powder lasts me consistently 3 weeks- 4 weeks (4 is not a good look, but better than these). I haven't had the manicure for a week yet! On two nails the dip has cracked off- the nail is still there, it wasn't trauma, just poorly done. ALL of the nails had lifted by day 3 (pulling my hair out in the shower) - you can see the lift sprouting around the edges of my nails. The salon was nice enough, had lots of colors, the tech was kind, but the quality of work is unacceptable. Do not recommend for dip powder. read more

Okay, to say I'm impressed is an understatement. My friend and I decided to get our nails done last minute and sometimes walk ins can be a pain ( i know haha) but they were super kind and told us they could take us in an hour. So we just walked around the area and came back. For a full set of acrylics, it's only $35. Their system was a little funny because my friend and I swapped out a few times between two ladies but we assumed one was perhaps training on certain steps but it wasn't an issue for us. The two ladies were so kind and my friend and I now have great nails that look still 100% perfect 3 weeks later with no signs of budging. I've only been to QD twice but I'm hooked. The ladies as so sweet and they do a great job. Both times I went there was a last minute decision but they were more than accommodating considering I was a walk in. I've had a pedicure, eyebrow wax and this time I got a fill which was EXCELLENT, I'm obsessed with my nails... I brought a pic from Pinterest and Evonne did an amazing job. It's been a week and my nails are still rockin so QD is stuck with me. Pricing is very fair and not a total rip off which I really appreciate since we are all on a budget these days. Very bad attitude from I believe Nhi, who did my dip nails. There was still some of my old color and clear paint on my fingers when i left. When i mentioned there was still some on me she told me to stop and that i could "complain at the end." She made comments about the last place I got my nails done ruining my nail beds when they are fine. Wouldn't do a design because they take too long. The color is also splotchy. Used no lotion and mixed the oil with alcohol so it didn't soak into my skin at all, just sat on top. Waste of $40, if I could give zero stars I would. UPDATE: 4 days later and my nail broke. Nails didn't even last a week, and these are dip nails and supposed to last up to a month or more.... read more

I just moved from Seattle and broke my nail in the process. I called to make an appointment for SNS (dipping powder) and they were able to fit me in right away! The spot is conveniently located in North Park, only a few blocks from my apt :) The staff was very kind and professional. I sat down with Nhi and she did an amazing job! She took her time and paid attention to details which I really appreciated. We had a great conversation and she made me feel very comfortable. Did a walk in today on a Sunday at 10:18a. I haven't been helped yet and it's 11:25a. I came in and there was 4 workers with a customer and one person waiting in front of me. The 5th worker walked in a few minutes after me. I wanted to get my pedi and acrylics nails. One person comes in for an appt at 10:30 and another walks in at 10:45. They both have been helped. (Understandable) then someone that walked in after me just got called to get a mani and pedi. I was just informed an hour later that I have to wait for this one lady because they only have one person doing acrylic today. WHY THE HECK WASN'T I INFORMED OF THE WAIT TIME AND THAT THEY ONLY HAD ONE NAIL TECH FOR ACRYLICS? It's 11:55a and I'm finally called to get helped. I'm leaving at 12:22. I usually do my nails at home since i have a huge collection of shellac nail polishes and the UV light curator but every now and then a girl just needs to pamper her self and get her nails did! My best friend recommended me this place for their reasonable prices and efficient service and boy am I glad listened to her! I've already came here twice with my last visit being here last Saturday! The ladies who work here are always really kind and patient when doing my nails. I never feel rushed and it really seems like they are trying their best on making the out come of my nails look good! I'm pretty simple and practical when it comes to my nails so I always go for the clean look and get a shellac manicure with French tip and both times have always came out amazing! The first one lasted 3 1/2 weeks which is pretty good and since it's French it doesn't look that bad when it grows out! I've also gotten a pedicure here and omg I'm not sure who the nail tech who did my toes name was but the lady with the short bob cut is the best at giving a foot/leg massage! Omg she had such a firm and strong pressure it is seriously the best!! This place seems to always get really busy so I suggest if you do decide to come here to please make an appointment! Also remember to tip your nail tech, these ladies are hard workers and deserve to be compensated on their efforts and talent! read more

Usually great service. Came in for special pedicure which is basic $18. have acrylic nails removed and gel manicure on my nails. My pedicure is awesome. Love it My nails are horrible. Spent almost 40 mins and left. Still have acrylic on my nails. Didnt get gel manicure. They apologized but still charged the full $7.. smh. And I kept asking her to round my nails. She filed them 2 short and they are square. So I have to go home soak the remaining acrylic off. Then go find a place to get gel manicure. Waste of time. They should tell you before hand if they dont know what they're doing. And I asked the price of removal like 3x. Woman doinh my toes said $5. Then when lady came and started she says its $5 or $7 but no more.... the woman getting a pedicure next to me started laughing also. But usually a great place for VanL. New to the area so I called around to a couple of places that were too busy to get me in that evening. It was my fault since I waited until 5pm to begin my search. Oh well, everything happens for a reason. The woman on the phone said I could come right then and I let her know I'd be there in 5 minutes. Right when I walked in, I was greeted warmly and told to sit down in a chair. Mani, pedi and eyebrows all done between 5:30 and 6:45, no color for me thanks. I enjoyed the place and service so much that I recommended it to my wife and she's there. 1/29/18: We've become regulars here after months of wonderful service, a nice atmosphere and the women are all nice. I see them treat every customer with the same care and willingness to accommodate all who walk in. 9/4/18: So we moved a little farther away from QD but weren't enamored by any of the places we tried after moving. My wife came in on Friday, after at least 2 months away and they were so happy to see her! She passed on the message to me that Kim said hi, I'm her regular. So of course I needed to make an appearance and I'm really happy that I did. Amazing service as usual, lots of happy customers and lots of catching up while I was getting my eyebrows done.
