I went in for mani pedi no appointment. I will seen right away. I said I wanted clear polish on hands and toes. Water for feet was cold. Fingernail tech rushed through the service asking if I wanted shiny nails, for an extra cost. I said nope. She asked if I wanted a neck massage and that was cool. She finished up and walked away. I never leave reviews but this manicure was terrible. I asked for deep burgundy and I get bright red. I asked him 3 times to shape them how I wanted them and he kept rounding them. Paid 180 dollars for a mani and pedi, the manicurist left the building and said that I would get a neck massage. I thought that the neck massage was complimentary for having me wait for her. Turns out I paid for a service I didn't ask for. Without my permission she added sparkles (which I didn't want, just wanted a solid color). It was too late to stop her as she already set my hand in the LED. Beyond this 2 nails broke after only a day of having them. I will not be coming back. read more

Everything went great! Just like I wanted! The nails, the service, the treatment. 10/10 experience! I have been to sooo many nail salons where I hope to be able to receive the kind of precious service I just received. From the nails, the detail in the work, to their treatment. I felt welcomed after they really made me feel comfortable and confident in my decision to go. The nails speak for themselves. I don't know about you but sometimes going in with what you want is challenged in some way. They will help you to feel happy you went. Kathleen the manager told me how important it was that I felt happy I went. They go through lengths to make you feel happy and there are many ways try he show it. No pressure in any particular thing, and that if we say no to something that's okay. More importantly the actual nail treatment was above and beyond! They covered it with several coats to protect the gel nails and several coats of the gel too - which I agreed to! I specifically went for the nude color and after multiple try's they got the nude I wanted! They have several nudes I liked and they were willing to clean the cuticle extremely well. Second time here, only other time was during the pandemic I was in the neighborhood so I thought I'd give them a try . I'm only giving this any stars is because Sandy who did my pedicure deserves five stars, she did the best job. It was the best massage ever, but John did my nails and he just kept filing them and filing them and their misshapen, thick and I am not happy at all. They were perfect before he started whatever he did. I'm gonna have to wait like two weeks and have them redone by somebody else . He should not be doing Nails. I do not recommend him. Also, just note if you're gonna get your eyebrows waxed, they do it all in one setting so while someone's doing your pedicure and your nails are getting worried about wax a little bit uncomfortable, but I'll definitely be back for a pedicure with Sandy. Worse pedi I ever had, the girl seemed to be new and not know what she was doing. I asked for toe design and she put 5 white dots and a gray dot center.. nothing else. When I showed them my previous designs another lady tried to come help. They should be honest and tell you they don't know what to do. I chose to not have any. Pricy and bad service. Not coming back. It's hard to believe that I have been coming to this incredible nail salon for the past three years! The hub nails lounge is the best place in San Diego to get your nails done. Kathleen and all of the staff are the most caring and attentive nail techs in the area. My mom, my sister, and I always come here to get our nails done, both manicures and pedicures. The staff are extremely accommodating timing wise, and always squeeze us in. However, we always make sure to make an appointment first. The staff are very kind and consistently ask during during your appointment if you are comfortable, if you would like something to drink, or if you would like a massage. I think to myself, Ok maybe because of the gel...sure, I'll accept that but there needs to be some clarity if that is going to be the case. Transparency is key. There is a sign on the desk where payment is accepted stating that if you pay cash, a 3% discount will be applied. I inquired since i was in fact paying cash, and was met with confusion and disappointment. Instead of honoring the discount they displayed, they argued amongst each other and left me at the desk waiting all for them to tell me, yeah .. $77...it's not the price, it's the transparency...it came off really rude and unprofessional. Warning! Don't go here! My daughter received a chemical burn from the lotion used in her pedicure and the technician also cut her toe. Photos are attached. After three days, she still has scabs up and down her calves from the burns. Also, as Margarette F. indicates in another review here, the staff pressures you into purchasing more services than you want. My daughter had received a gift certificate for her wedding. We decided to redeem it with mother-daughter foot massages, which I was told over the phone that they do, since my daughter hates pedicures. However, once we were in the chairs, my technician started saying that we REALLY needed pedicures and that it would only cost a little bit more. She successfully pressured us into this. In the midst of the foot massages, it became clear that these two technicians did not, in fact, know how to give these. Instead of massaging muscles, mine just kept rubbing my calf bone. Far worse, my daughter had to interrupt her "massage" because she was in extreme pain and her legs were covered in a rash. We got out of there as quickly as we could after being told that, in addition to the gift certificate for the massages, we owed $64 for the two foot massages that we had been pressured into, even though they didn't even paint our nails. This was in addition to the $80 gift certificate. We thus spent a total of $144 for this terrible treatment. When I called the owner for a refund, she refused. read more

I was having an appointment with Sandy today, and a tech name Kay started to scream in Vietnamese at Sandy " I hate you, I hate you"! I have been coming here for years and kay is pretty new. I usually have my appointments with Sandy and she is always so sweet and nice when I come in, so I don't know how anyone could have a problem with her. I'm not sure what else was said, but Kay went outside and it's seemed like she was trying to get Sandy to go out and fight her. I don't know what happened after that because my nails were done so I left. I'll still give 3 stars at this place, cause I like this place and I love Sandy. read more

I went for my last set to fix a problem from a different salon. Had a wonderful time and was told to do the powder color and it wouldn't be a problem next time. Turns out It was. Had several problems today.. 1- not being able to do a marble design, so I changed it. 2-went back and forth on the powder or gel polish dilemma 3-felt like an inconvenience to my nail tech who was very hard with how he was grabbing my hands 4-asked three times to change the placement of the ombré design and just gave up at the end. 5-after the service was "completed" I had polish on my fingers, no final filing was done, and I had to ask for cuticle oil 6-after I left I noticed the top coat didn't even cover the entirety of my nails so I had to go back and ask for it to be fixed along with getting rid of most of the polish around my nails. 7-when checking out I used card and was asked if tip would be in cash. I ALWAYS TIP I didn't want to bc of my poor experience but felt obligated. Lastly I am still picking off polish around my nails that were left on my skin, bumps in my polish, and a design I'm not 100 percent pleased with. Which would all be fine if I wasn't charged 70 dollars for a fill and simple ombre especially with how poorly I left feeling. I never make reviews but felt inclined to today read more

I have taken my daughter, my boyfriend and my boyfriends daughter here - we are repeat customers. They actually have quite a few very good technicians here - great pedicures and usually manicures. With that said. I feel very strongly sharing this next frustration with this place. The quality of my manicure that the one guy did for me recently was terrible (sorry don't know his name but he's the only male who works there). I've had many basic manicures here before and they have never been this bad as it were today. I felt like he was mad because I didn't give into his upsell to powder dip my nails which btw apparently have vitamin E in it. At the end, I said no thank you and he wasn't able to actually deliver with the basic manicure that I paid for. I had to ask him twice to clip a few pieces of dead skin off (and there was still more but I gave up). Another time I brought my daughter here I was asked what service I wanted to choose from the menu. I picked the basic manicure and pedicure package (esp because I intended to let my daughter splurge and get her full set of nails and a fancy pedicure). When I picked what I wanted the menu was snatched out of my hands and I was told I could not pick what I picked from the menu. I was pretty shocked to have 1) the menu grabbed from out of my hands only to be told 2) that what I picked from the menu isn't what I could pick. After a small discussion it turns out what I picked was actually fine to choose from. Again - um, why does it have to be difficult to ask for and get what I would like? Will we return? Hm.... well, I would say if you want to get a nice full set of gels or acrylics, then yes. And their pedicure packages are reasonable and for the most part they do a good job. I would not recommend going here for something simple like a regular manicure. I think for that I need to go somewhere else because I am sadly disappointed in the quality of the work and it kind of ruins my day when all I wanted was to have nice clean nails and no hassle. read more

I checked the website and it listed a gel manicure as $30. The chrome finish was an extra $15 but my total was $50. I didn't understand the pricing system. The lady who did my nails was very fast. I don't live near here, but when you find someone as good as her, you're going to be willing to drive the distance. May I add they have a great collection of colors. DO NOT GO HERE or ASK FOR THE PRICE OF EVERYTHING . This place is full of scams. First I came in for just a full set with chrome and then agreed to a pedi as well. During the service they did everything they could to try and up charge me. I told the girl who was doing my pedi I just wanted polish and she tried to do gel three times. The man who did my nails did a horrible job chrome is supposed to be smooth after and it was bumpy and he did not match the nail extensions to my fingers. Once I told him they were to big he said no it was my fingers. I also asked him to file my nails short and he just would ignore me. Needless to say my nails were terrible and 5 of them fell off within 3 days (I got them done on Thursday evening). I went back on Monday and they couldn't take me unless I waited a hour. I told them I'd be back Tuesday morning then when I got there they told me to wait 10 min which turned into 45 min and I had to leave. I texted the owner and confirmed I would be back for the 3rd time at 2 pm. The owner confirmed I would not have to pay for my nails to be fixed. Once the man who initially did them fixed them he was very rude. He came up with every excuse to try and make me believe it was my fault but I wasn't falling for it. Finally at the end he said it would cost me 10$ and I said for what? He said because he cut my cuticles (what manicure doesn't cut cuticles) I told him he did that on Thursday and he said no he didn't and I said yes he did and to please show me a price sheet where it states that's a extra service let alone 10$ extra. I asked to speak to the owner again who told me I did not have to pay that and when she looked at him he had a big grin on his face. I WILL NEVER COME BACK. If you do go.
