If you have artificial nails and want elaborate nail art, then this might be a great salon for you. My experience getting a Signature Manicure for my natural nails was more mixed. I found the website for Nailpedia to be clear and user friendly. Through the website, I booked an appointment for a Signature Manicure with Summer, the business's owner. It turned out that having the appointment for a specific time and with a specific tech meant nothing. I had to wait around 15 minutes, same as the walk ins who came while I was there, and the first tech available did my nails. Having made my appointment for the Signature Manicure also seemed irrelevant. The woman doing my nails asked if I wanted a basic manicure. When I clarified I wanted the Signature, she did not proceed based on the business's description of that service. She seemed to try to clarify what I meant, asking if I wanted the scrub or wax? Parafin is not described as part of the Signature Manicure. It is a separate charge. Now I was confused! We managed to get on the same page. The woman doing my nails handed me two batches of samples for colors. When I was looking at them, she took one batch away. I asked if they were the same? I didn't quite catch her answer. I started to say I wanted something sheer. She quickly took the samples away from me and said, "We have sheer." My nails were cut and shaped and the tech did ask if they were how I wanted them. I was a little concerned because I did not see the tools used on my nails come out of a sealed packet or out of a sanitizer. I am going to trust that they were properly cleaned. A product in a squeeze bottle was also used in the process, but was unlabeled. I am used to a salon where sanitization procedures are unmistakeable and all products are clearly labeled. After shaping my nails, the tech did the scrub, which started out with an exfoliating texture, but when a lot of water was added it quickly became more of a lather. It felt like I was getting my hands and arms washed more than exfoliated. Fast forwarding to the color, the tech put it on without checking if it was what I had in mind. It wasn't. I wanted a light, sheer pink. What I got was more the color of my skin. The tech did a good job on my nails, but the overall experience was not what I was expecting. The website and scheduling system made it seem like I could begin to establish a relationship with a particular tech who would get to know me and my nails. The reality was that it felt like any other nail salon where you walk in without an appointment and get a quick manicure or pedicure. Again, it might be a different experience if you are getting a more specialized service. read more

Best nail spa on Maui! When I first moved here, I was bouncing around different nail places for the longest time trying to find a good one. After trying so many, I finally came to Nailpedia and now go there routinely for my manis and pedis. I've had just about everyone there for both services and they always get it right. The owner, Summer, is my favorite for manicure designs and even remembers the things I'm picky about without me needing to remind every visit. She has a real talent and eye for the smallest details. I also love that she checks in with you to make sure the shape/length is to your liking. The inside is also the cleanest I've been to on island. Made a 2 pm appointment, upon arriving someone flashed an appointment book but never looked at it. I didn't get invited to a pedi chair until 2:27. Kai did a nice job with my pedicure but then Hana cut my nails so short they actually hurt when I asked for a manicure on my natural nails. My soft gel manicure and regular gel pedicure both went haywire while on vacation in Maui and I wound up having an excellent experience getting them fixed by Kai. He did an excellent pedicure service with a beautiful rainbow chrome design. Kai also did an expert job on my nails giving me a lovely, well shaped soft gel fill. Kai seems to be a master with the builder gel and I highly recommend you get your nails done by him. The services cost double what I pay in Los Angeles but that's basically Maui. The salon is pleasant and new. The spa chairs are new and better than any I've experienced. I don't think you can go wrong coming to this nail salon. read more

This place is okay. The owner is very good and so are a few pedicure ladies . But it's really a mixed bag of experience. I called and asked if they did gel X the guy I talked to say yes BUT what I got was regular gel polish? Another time I went in for a pedicure and the short haircut woman working on me did an okay job on my feet but worked on 1/2 of my calves? Every other time I've gotten a pedicure I've got treatment all the way to my knees covering my calf. This girl was going halfway for some reason. read more

I am so happy to have found Nailpedia and spa. I was a walk-in and was lucky enough to get Cindy to do my toes. It was truly one of the best pedicures I have had, along with good conversation.
