I shop here every couple of weeks for seventh generation cleaning, paper products, greeting cards or anything I can't find at my neighborhood grocery store. I'm picky about my preferred brands! Prices are always good, if you apply for their discount card you can get even further discounts. The clerks are friendly, the store is easy to shop, not crammed with stuff like the one across the street and it's right on coal creek pkwy. I did a one-star review of several QFCs in my area because of my experience today with digital coupons. The QFC staff are all great, and I like QFC products including produce, meat and seafood, and deli (Boars Head). I like QFC brands including private selection. My issue is with digital coupons. Today I went shopping and I purchased 45 items. 30 items had a digital coupon meaning most items had one. Each item with a digital coupon required 7 clicks on my phone to clip the digital coupon. This means I swiped and clicked and scanned my phone 210 times to purchase my groceries. Mind you, most of the products with digital coupons were QFC brands (Kroger, Private Selection, etc.). I came prepared with a grocery list, I shopped efficiently, and it still took over an hour to do my shopping. I spent a significant amount of my time clicking and swiping digital coupons. Next, I had to checkout. My local QFC does not have checkers, so I am now required to scan every item, and bag it. I scanned most of these items once, and now I am scanning the same items a second time. I buy a good deal of produce which takes extra time because unlike a checker, I haven't memorized all the produce codes. Checking out takes about 20 minutes and I am efficient and moving as fast as I can. I've now scanned about 40 items and clicked the screen to ring up my produce another 30 times. About an hour and a half later, I'm leaving the store. I've clicked on a digital device about 250 times in total. By the time I factor in the time to drive to and from the store, a simple shopping trip took me 2 hours. I asked the QFC employee, "why would QFC corporate decision makers possibly want to create such a terrible experience for me?". It was an honest question. The QFC employee was nice, and explained the benefits of the app. Although the benefits of the app may be relevant to someone, they are not relevant to me. I spend thousands of dollars at QFC every year. I've shopped at QFC, almost exclusively, for dozens of years. It's shocking to think how much money I have spent at QFC. Why would QFC reward my patronage by making me click a device hundreds of times every time I go shopping, on top of making me ring up and bag my own groceries. I'm sure somewhere there is someone in a QFC corporate office behind this experience, claiming victory for all of this. QFC corporate person, if you are reading this review, I want you to know that you are an idiot that is out of touch with the experience your customers are having in your stores, or you are fully aware of their experience and that makes you a jerk. Someone is reading this review and saying to me, "why aren't you just shopping at Costco?" To you I say, "touché" read more

The guy at the door greets me and says good morning ,I walk in buy a few things Im looking for what check stand is open ....nope no check stands open but the greeter tells me I can do self checkout.Im like ok well why cant you check me out your just standing here at the Lotto stand as usual.Other day the checker and a customer are talking about recipes they tried n on and on about everything but checking the grocery items out ...at 1 point the checker actually stop checking items n the 2 of them hold a conversation while Im waiting ? Seafood and meat department is worthless maybe hire a real butcher who has a clue what cut of meat is what? Not much else to say about this place not my first pick to shop here. read more

Food is not selective as in kirkland downtown store. The store has no positive energy at all. Looking old and dull. They must renew the whole store as soon as possible. Thevlights are horrible. Slightly more organized than the Safeway across the road. A girl who called herself Latifa was excellent while ringing up. Best clerk at the register. Glad didn't have any issues with exchanges or returns hence no idle became necessary. As the pic shown, simple truth soymilk two for 5.99 were my new favorites on organic beverage. But the store hours have changed 3-4 times in a row more than I thought. Need to be vigilant on that. read more

My go to grocery store. All the employees are friendly and great!!! The produce section always stocked with different types of apples, variety of Asian fruits, etc. The meat guy is always helpful and always down to slice flank steaks and pork ribs for me! Deli and their prime rib sandwiches... one word, FIRE! The Starbucks ladies and are always greeting me once I walk into the store. Overall a great grocery store to shop at!! read more

First of all, female bakery worker was very rude for no reason at all. Was referred to bakery from cashier to find an item. When I asked where the item might be, worker replied "Well that doesn't sound like bakery item to me, does it?" Manager was called (Sebastian) and when he arrived she called him over to her before I was able to share my experience. Manager had very very poor handling of the situation and even managed to give an eye roll my way after talking with the worker. As a LGBT BIPOC I'm used to the looks but the blatant disregard for a simple easy question ruined my Saturday evening and deterred any future visits to this particular establishment. I say this with no malice but this store and the community in which it serves would benefit from new management and appropriate training on store merchandise and customer service. Sebastians response was unmotivated, unenthusiastic, and dismissive. After telling him that i would be filing a complaint and leaving a review you simply responded that he "doesn't care" and my item would be on aisle 11. (It was on 10) Do better. read more

They mandate a mask but don't have any to provide at the front door. So people end up walking in without one which defies the whole purpose of the mask thing lol. I find it ironic that in a city like Newcastle can't provide them. I had to turn around and go to Safeway since I didn't have one on me. Because in the end they will tell you to have a mask. I frequent this spot. The employees are always very friendly and helpful. Big selection. Shaun on the front end is awesome and always makes sure to greet you. The built-in Starbucks is also top notch. Think my favorite part is that they keep their self-checkout open in the mornings so there's never any lines. Great place! read more

Failed miserably during this time- no single serve donuts which are amazing varied and plentiful right across the street at Safeway- horrible produce which has been amazing at Safeway- amd missing so many items which I found in plentiful at Safeway. Need a new manager. read more

Great staff that is super efficient and helpful. Their produce is insanely good and their prices are so reasonable. We just moved to the area and after living in a place with such an understaffed and crowded grocery store that never had enough inventory, this place is a dream! They have it together and put their customers first! We also ordered sandwiches from the deli last weekend and they were not only delicious but the man behind the counter was so sweet! They have the best deli department. I order at least 8 -10 deli platters a year from QFC. I serve them at parties and take them camping. The platters always look amazing! Most the time I will make some change to the platters and QFC always accommodates! I highly recommend them! read more

Staff here are very nice and helpful. Store is conveniently located for me. I do like the fresh, beautifui produce, and the bulk section. Some things I am unhappy with: - Handicapped parking on side of building has uneven pavement (hard for me to navigate) and slopes, so that shopping carts always roll away - Music inside store is always SO LOUD - NO SOUP LEFT! Have arrived several times at 12:45-ish (which I still consider to be the heart of "lunch time') to get lunch to go-- and SOUPS were ALL GONE! none were replenished. At that time of day, I would think they would make sure the soup is refilled. - Even though store is smaller (and QFC headquarters supposedly call this location on Coal Creek "Slow Creek" as it is not that busy)-- I ALWAYS have to wait in line! Never enough checkers.. Of course, they want you to use the Self check, which with my handicap, I do not like to do. read more

I personally have zero desire for self checkout so I put my food back, was leaving and he is checking someone out. I moved here from the east coast and I don't know if it's just where I live here or what, but the grocery stores are smaller. Of course our house is smaller here too...so perhaps it's just the footprint they have to work with. But the store seems small to me. Which means the selection isn't as large as I would expect from a grocery store. This store is clean but cluttered. The produce area offers plenty of organic items. The deli here is lacking compared to what I expect in a deli. They do have Boars Head, but not a large selection of items. The staff here is friendly. And they sell some brand items I haven't found in the other store nearby. I wish it had some other brands for sale. I wish it had wider aisles so during busy times I'm not asking people to move aside every aisle. But it's just ok. read more

Every time I come to this location there are always friendly and helpful employees that are super approachable if I ever have any questions, which I frequently do! They have good organic selections in their produce department and carry a lot of local brands for things like coffee, jams, and honey to name a few. I saw that they recently installed a self service, bulk foods section with things like nuts, granola, rice, etc. which is always a nice option. read more

Clean and organized grocery store. However, I didn't find the salad I need, and went to the Safeway across the street.

I've always liked QFC, I like the higher quality items rather than the ubiquitous junk food of cheaper stores, but since Kroger bought them out it's not the same. The produce used to be SO much better here, and the meat... well I used to buy meat exclusively from QFC and Fred Meyer, but since they were bought out it's all junk meat. I won't buy meat here ever any more. I worry about their brand natural items, especially produce. I don't trust it after seeing how other things have gone downhill. They have an in house brand for organics. I know that some chemicals are listed as okay to be used on organics and my only hope is trusting the company putting out the produce. I do not trust the kroger brand organics "simple truth". Both stores carry some other brands organic produce so I'll still buy well-known organic brands there that I believe have integrity, but not the Simple Truth. QFC still has a lot of good quality items, so I shop here for a few items when I don't have time to get to PCC. PCC is a much better quality store with integrity. read more

I have some odd hours, this 24 hour location is my go-to-place for groceries and filtered water needs. Things do cost a little more but you can save if you get a QFC card. Large selection of wines (in the back) are another major plus. read more

EXTREME DISCRIMINATING BAD ENCOUNTER WITH MANAGER AT QFC NEWCASTLE On 7/5/2015, evening what was supposed to be a simple after happy dinner grocery shopping at your Newcastle Coal Creek turns into a very upsetting evening for the family, after our encountering with your night manager Donel. Donel was ringing a customer at line 5 so I push my cart into the line only to be rudely told that I am cutting the queue e & he went and took another customer from queue 4 which has 3 other customers in line, after ringing that customer he ask for the second one at line 4, which had refused to come over and then only he signal to us that he will ring us up ??? We were immensely upset, in the first place was I jumping queue to be treated so indifferent when I was lining at line 5 after the next customers. When did line 4 become also line5 ??. Why is Donel so rude to QFC Customers ?, and to even thin k that he is a Manager ? After he rang us on the way back to the car, we realized that he had charged us for the cantaloupe @$3.16 instead of $2.50, after we returned to the store and ask for refund, Donnel took the longest time possible staring at the Cantaloupe? . At that time I respectfully ask your manager why he treated us that way at check out line 5, when we were not jumping queue ?, his comment was that " We came out of "no-where" (Excuse me ... came out of no where ??" .... Guess I cannot believe wnat I just heard ?...no where ?? NO, I did not come out of no where... I was grocery shopping at your QFC Store !!). Cannot believe this... on top of that your Manager Donel did not even give us back our receipt. Stopped by this QFC grocery store specifically because I heard they had Top Pot doughnuts. They do. And they were delicious. Especially with the Starbucks coffee, which can also be found inside this store. read more

The staff in this store is wonderful. The place is always clean and beautiful. The produce is fresher and less expensive than the fruit stand that sets up across the street. And, they never make you wait to check out. They open a new line if more than a couple people are waiting. It's about the best grocery store experience you can have. read more

We go here probably too many times every week... It is close to our place so super convenient but they are also great about "managers specials". Always awesome deals! Also, every single person I've encountered that works there is so helpful and incredible nice! Darnell is one of our favorites... Just an awesome guy! Friendly staff, way above and beyond. Eric in the deli in particular is a rock star. I play hoops late some nights and the deli is closed when I'm done...I just call Eric around 7pm and he cuts whatever I want and leaves it in the case for me to pickup later! This is our neighborhood grocery store. We know most of the staff and they know us. Most importantly, the food is fresher than the place across the street. The seafood is always very fresh and the produce seems to last longer than the veggies from Safeway. We have also been very happy with the cakes we have ordered from the bakery. read more

I got home with my groceries and discovered that the cashier had not put a rather large piece of meat I bought in my cart. Thus it was not in with my groceries and was still at the store. I rushed back to see if it was still there. When I walked in, the cashier recognized me immediately and began apologizing. She said the manager had put it in the freezer for me, and rushed off to get it. Within 3 minutes I had the cut of meat in my hands and the very kind manager was apologizing and offered me anything I wanted for free to make up for their oversight. I told him it wasn't necessary, I was just glad to have the meat I had paid for. I decided to buy a bottle of wine for dinner. When I walked up to the check out line, the manager came up to me with a bag in his hand and put my wine in it and again apologized. The wine was free. Everyone at the store is very kind and pleasant. And the manager is wonderful at his job! read more
